New signing keys

Hey guys

Thank you for your support, the last time I had questions.

I have developed many applications PlayBook with WebWorks.

Today, I wanted to get one of them running on my DevAlpha camera.

I had the same problem as this guy here:

http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/testing-and-deployment/ripple-deploy-to-BB10-dev-Alpha-failur...

Here's my output terminal:

Building:

  1. [INFO] The application of filling source
  2. [INFO] The analysis of config.xml
  3. [WARNING] Build ID is defined in the file config.xml [version], but no signature password was provided [-g]. Bar will be unsigned

  7. [WARNING] Cannot find the debugging token

  9. [INFO] BAR complete packaging

  2. Info: Action: install and launch
  3. Info: File size: 311765
  4. Info: Installing undefined.testDev_undefined__c21f6150...

  6. actual_dname:
  7. actual_id:
  8. actual_version:
  9. result::failure 881 the application author does not match the author token of debugging

I ordered new signing keys because mine were only for PlayBook and I needed for BB10.

Then I started GraphicalAid, implemented the last SDK to WebWorks BB10 as 'BlackBerry WebWorks SDK location' and click "Start the Configuration Wizard".

On the last step, I was able to click on "Register New Keys".

Here comes the problem.

Luckily the program told me this:

"(!) ATTENTION: this action will cancel the registration of that computer, making it impossible to sign applications.  To continue signing applications and the creation of debugging tokens, you must re-enroll to the: http://www.blackberry.com/go/codesigning after re-registration, new versions of your applications appear as new applications, not upgrades, and will not have access to shared data from previous versions.  Are you sure you want to delete your current keys? »

Now, I want to be able to get the BB10 apps running but I also want to be able to release future updates of my PlayBook applications. If updates recognized as new apps I can't use them as updates.

So I have not deleted my key of course, but now I can't test stuff on my DevAlpha using my DebugToken.

I thought it might be because I used BlackBerry Tablet OS graphical help but I don't know too much about.

Any suggestion guys?

Please help me.

  • Do I need new signing keys?

I developed before BlackBerry OS applications and have the signature for this key. Do I need new ones for the Tablet?

Keys for the Tablet are different from the keys to the mobile operating system.  Yes, you will need a different set of keys and the signature uses a different command line interface.

  • No access to the original Code signing keys

The company I work for hiring a third party to develop our mobile application, but then later we took it back in-house.  A third already had a release for us until we take on the code.  Now I can't all of third-party developers to send me the csk files they used to sign the release.  We have a massive update to the software that we are ready to release, but we want to show him as an update to the current version and not a new application.  It's my understanding to use the same key signature as before to get there, though.

Assuming that I don't me the csk (s) of the third party, what are my options?

    Hi mbamobile,

If it is a PlayBook application, simply contact here and we erase your application package ID: https://www.blackberry.com/profile/?eventId=8109

After that, you can use a new signing key to sign your application and download it in the App World.  The only downside is that users will have two icons for your application, after that they have to download the new version.

If it is an application of BBOS (.cod files), you can sign your application with a different key signature and download it without any intervention on our part.

  • Get the new activation key

I bought a copy of windows 7 ultimate Windows.com/genuine after having received a notice that my copy of windows was not authentic. I bought the new activation key for almost $300 and they also sent me an installation CD where I never had to perform a reinstallation. Well my hard drive crashed and I had to purchase and install a new one, which meant the reinstallation of windows. However, I found that in some way I lost my activation code and the cover of the CD that Microsoft sent me contained not one. I called Microsoft support several times to get the reprinted to me activation key. I spent many hours being transferred from one Department to the other until they began to transfer me to the same departments several times. I have my order number, address that was sent to the, date of purchase and all. They can see my order but they can't access information on this topic for a reason, and they issue me a new code. At this point, I'm really upset because I spent a lot of money on this software only to be told that I can't use it. In addition to all this Microsoft has absolutely no way to file a complaint. I am at a loss to know what to do. The only option that Microsoft gives me is to buy a new code, but there is no way I'm paying twice for the same product, I just assumed never to use a Microsoft product to new to be dressed like that. If someone has experienced something similar, I would be grateful for help on how to get this sorted out. Thank you!

  • Lost signing keys

I have a question, I have published several versions of a product... I lose my sigtool files so I asked new code signing files, I have already installed the new keys, so I would like to know if is there any problem if I register my files with this new key at the time release a new version of the product?

    Thanks in advance!

If it is an application BBOS, you can sign the new version with keys no problem different code signing.  Code signing keys should remain the same for BlackBerry 10 applications.

Also note that [email protected] is no longer controlled.

  • I forgot the password of the Code signing key

Hi, I got the signature key (csk file) by registering on blackberry, but for some reason, I forgot my password... When I try to sign my code it ask me password... I googled a lot to find a way to recover my password, but no avail... Can someone please tell me how to recover my password for the key signature or any other way that i can reset my password... Any kind of help would be appreciated... Thanks in advance...

This is an old thread... but since it's one of the first results in a Google search, I wanted to bring an answer here.

It is not possible to recover your password for BlackBerry Code signing keys.  However, you can choose a new if you reinstall your keys.  The first thing you need to do is to order a new set of keys (free) using the form below.

    https://www.BlackBerry.com/SignedKeys/

Before installing your keys, find and delete the files below that will be present in the various BlackBerry development tools installation directories (location varies by tool).

    sigtool.DB

    sigtool. CSK

    sigtool. Set

You will now be able to install your new CSI files and choose a new password.

  • Code signing keys can be used on more than a developer (different PC)?

    Hello

I applied for a set of code a long time ago signing keys.

I installed them on the JDE on my computer... and I was able to migrate them to my new computer always on the JDE, then on the eJDE thereafter.  I had a few problems of migration of these keys, but everything is working well now, I am able to sign my application.

Now, I have a colleague who wants to develop an application using Widgets and there need code signing keys as well.  Can I just send my key itself?  Or he must apply to his own set of keys?

In other words, the code signing keys used to identify a company or developer?

    Thank you!

Each developer must have their own set of BlackBerry Code signing keys.  Sharing the key is against the license agreement.

  • Signing keys for different from Android NDK bar signing keys?

I've already implemented the dev environment and I signed and sold since Android apps and games.

Just downloaded NDK and I was wondering what I need to ask another key of song to sign NDK apps or the same keys will work?

No, you don't need new keys.  The same code signing keys can be used in all the PlayBook and BlackBerry 10 SDKs.

  • RIM Web site won't let me download the code signing key

I had to move to a new computer.  Won't spend my old code key signature RIM, and RIM will not respond to requests to replace.  I'm paying $20 and get new code signing keys.  Whenever I have the form with credit card information, it goes to a screen of error (internal error) and told me to try again in a few minutes.  (After that it clears the form data)

It is futile to try again.  The site is broken.  I have a request signed on App World I would like to update.

Any ideas?  Any developer support phone numbers that work?

    Thank you

    Gerry

[email protected] is usually fast enough.

You can also try another browser, I had problems with opera and finally with firefox.

usually, you should be able to copy all the sigtool.* files to your new PC

  • Code signing key?

    Hi all

I am a new programmer of Blackberry. I read about the code signing key on the Blackberry home page. But I have a question. I know the cost because it is $ 20, but what it means? We must pay $ 20 for each application or only pay 1 time for applications that we write and install it on BlackBerry? Thank you!

No, $20 buys you a set of signature keys. You can sign 0x7FFFFFFF times in total.
