New tab automatically driven load search

I had the terrible evil with a service junk called led search that a saying in my firefox. First, it changed my homepage, which I revenue. Then whenever I tried something in the address bar, instead of google, leads research would manage it instead. I have read a few other questions here and discovered how to stop this by changing the value of the browser in any search: config.

However, one problem remains. Whenever I open a new tab, instead of being a Virgin tab as she used to, search the page loading ducts instead. So I went to about: config and changed browser.newtab.url to about: white, which is what the other responses I've read suggest. Problem solved, or so I thought. But nothing has changed. When I open a new tab, it is not empty - it is always led the research.

It is more a joke. He is disobedient actually arrested. It is 'Cancel' me! I was about to uninstall firefox and download again, but it's too much problems with bookmarks and others.

How to purge the Exchange search channel turned away once and for all? I looked in the modules and plugins, but I can't. I'm at my wits end.

I'm on Windows with Firefox version 39 10. Everytime I open a new tab, a Yahoo Search page comes up. I deleted all the stuff of Yahoo out of my laptop. I have no Yahoo toolbar, etc. left. I also removed Yahoo as a search engine option. DuckDuckGo is only available for research. Here's how you can change your new tab page:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press enter/return. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste newtab and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the preference browser.newtab.url and enter your favorite page:

    • (Default) page thumbnails = > subject: newtab
    • Blank tab = > subject: empty
    • Built-in Firefox homepage = > topic: welcome
    • Any other page = > full URL of the page

Press Ctrl + t to open a new tab and check that it worked. Fixed?

If the problems persist, some potential diagnoses and remedies:

If Firefox will not let you change this setting: you can have what is called SearchProtect on your system. This must be removed the control panel. If the status is 'locked' we'll need to help you investigate a configuration file "automatic".

Firefox if allows you to save your changes, but he doesn't know: one of your extensions may be the substitution of her. You can consult, disable and/or remove extensions on page modules. Either:

    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, take a critical look on the list on the right and turn off (or remove) something unknown.

If the modification works during your session, but during the next startup is return to the unwanted page: you could have a user.js file in your personal settings Firefox (your Firefox profile folder). Hello WNxBrontus, this looks like a problem maybe caused by adware on your pc. Please go to firefox > addons > extensions & remove any suspect entries (toolbars, the things that you have not installed intentionally, I don't know what purpose they serve, etc.). also, go to Control Panel / programs and remove all potentially unwanted software.

Remove a toolbar that has supported your Firefox or the homepage search

later, you can either install the searchreset addon to get rid of the problem, or manually resetting the page that opens on each new tab - enter Subject: config in the address bar of firefox (confirmed the message information where it appears), search for the preference named browser.newtab.url and right click and reset it to its default value (subject (: newtab).

  • New tab setting to load URL

I had the installer of Firefox to make it work the way I like it and the last update added "suggested sites" for new tabs. I recognize what they / you are trying to create new features, but I don't like this feature. No problem with that, but I want my standard page in return she used to load. Details are always available on: config and browser.newtab.url, but he is no more responsible for this page. I removed the details for suggested sites and now it loads a blank page with a search bar. Any suggestions?

Hi, 41 of Firefox, you must use an add-on like tab override (browser.newtab.url replacement), to make changes to the page tab.

Once installed, open the Add-ons (Ctrl + Shift + A) Manager > Extensions, and then look for the new tab override and click Options to set your preference.

Note, if you want only the new tab to be the same as your home page, you can use the Add on new tab homepage instead.

You will then need to restart Firefox for all changes to take effect.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

  • suddenly I'm asking as a new tab and not google search - driving me crazy

Ask the home page is driving me crazy. I want my google search customary as that which opens when I press on the new tab. I was everywhere on the internet to try to fix this. nothing works.

Since there are different options/settings of the standard page in a new window or a new tab, could you confirm if you have one or two of these problems:

    • Ask if poster at the start, in a new window (Cmd + n), and when you click the Home button
    • Ask appears when you open a new tab in the same window (Cmd + t)

For these two problems, the first thing to check is an unwanted extension. You can view, disable and often remove the extensions on page modules. Either:

    • CMD + SHIFT + a (Windows: Ctrl + Shift + a)
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then take a critical look at the extensions listed on the right side. If in doubt, disable or remove if possible. Remember that all extensions are optional, none come with Firefox.

Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

Which allows you to regain control of your homepage and view the standard Firefox new tab page?

If so, here are the details on how to restore your preferred homepage:

If you find that it works in your session (Cmd + n and give you good home page), but after leaving Firefox and commissioning once again you have bad home page, look for an optional settings file named user.js in your profile (personal settings folder) folder. Firefox uses the settings in this file at startup to override your preferences since the previous session. You can check and delete the file by following the steps in this article: How to fix preferences that will not save (there is a specific section on the user.js files).

Display Google in a new tab page requires a different approach. From Firefox 41, the browser.newtab.url parameter is no longer used because it was constantly attacked by malware. Now, you need an add-on to change the new tab page.

Here are a few options (I'm learning more all the time):

    • If you are already using the "Restorer of classic theme" or "Tab Mix Plus" extension: There is an option somewhere (!) in his dialogues of the parameters to select another page in the new tab.

Use only one of these methods at the same time, otherwise there may be conflicts and dysfunctions.

Setting up substitute new tab and new tab custom

After installing one of these extensions, you must use the Options page to set the new desired tab page (instead of use subject: config).

Open the page modules using either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a (Mac: Cmd + shift + a)
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then on the side right, find the new tab replace or custom new tab and click on the Options button. (See first screenshot attached).

    New tab Override

Depending on the size of your screen, you may need to scroll down to enter the address in the form. (See second screenshot attached). For example:

    • (Default) page thumbnails = > subject: newtab
    • Blank tab = > subject: empty
    • Built-in Firefox homepage = > topic: welcome
    • Any other page = > full URL of the page

Then tab or click this form field and you can test using Ctrl + t.

    Custom new tab

It is easy to enter your favourite homepage address. If you check either of the boxes, the expansion will set the focus in the page as well, for example, the cursor will be in the Google search box. (See third screenshot attached). I had to leave Firefox and start it up again before new custom tab started working, but this may have been due to tests so many extensions back to back.

    Success?

  • How to stay with a clear new tab and not the search page of Yahoo every time?

Years, I used Firefox with claire of new tabs and achieved this in the menu Options, general tab, display an empty Page - and the next line, remains empty. This has always worked, so far. Today, each new tab navigation takes me directly to the Yahoo Search page, which I certainly don't want.

So, still today, I then passed to the 'Search' tab (in the Options menu) and removed all search engines from the list, including the option checked "Yahoo." However, each new tab again takes me to a "Yahoo" search page

How can I stop this now and forever?

I look forward to your solution.

Thanks a lot for your help, Mark.

  • New tab uses Yahoo as search engine - how to use Google?

I changed my default Google search engine; I use version 35. When I opened a new tab and type in the search I get results in a Yahoo Search page. How can I change this so that Google is the default search for the new tab search engine.

Thank you someone to help with this.

You probably have some adware or toolbar that has changed the page used for a newtab.

The addon installs, modifies settings and to uninstall. But you may need to remove the adware or which could change the settings again.
BUT Note If you are using Firefox (American) addon resets to Yahoo as en-US search engine and you will need to manually select the Google later.

Whatever the selected search engine to be used for the search toolbar must be used in other research including the address bar Firefox and the new tab.

    (Edit some typos)

  • I use google search. When I click on a suggestion contained in the results tab of the search, I want it to open in a new tab and keep the search results in the original tab. How?

For example, when I enter the search term "cabinets" and get a page/tab search results with suggestions such as Sears, JCPenney, or Amazon, I want to be able to click on Sears and open the Sears page in a new tab/page. I want to be able to close the tab to Sears and use the search results tab.

Google offers a framework for this. What it does, it adds a HTML (target = "blank") statement to every result link, which causes Firefox to open in a new tab. If you uncheck the preference to divert new windows in new tabs, Firefox will then open the result in a new separate window.

This preference is stored in a cookie, if you clear your Google cookies often, so you'll need to reset every time. You can do so here:

    https://www.Google.com/preferences

(On this page, Google refers to a new window.)

  • I put tabs to open a blank tab, but each new tab has now google search images on it.

I did not choose as a google search engine - I won't be using google. I have tabs set to open a blank tab each time. I want a blank tab without the google search bar.

This is related to the behavior of tab instead of search engine.
Follow these steps, and you will not see Google as again search engine.

    1. In the address bar, type Subject: config and press ENTER.

(Topic: config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.) Click on that I'll be careful, I promise! to keep the comments: config page. )

    1. Type browser.newtab.url in the search box.
    2. Double-click the browser.newtab.url preference and change the url to Subject: House to on: vacuum. Alternatively, you can change it to Subject: newtab for Firefox to new home page tabs.
    3. Click OK, and then close topic: configuration tab.

    I hope this helps.

  • After the last update, new tabs show a boittiaux search, left the window 'related searches', announces low & Bing becomes default in the search bar.

    After the last update:
    (1) open the new tab - rather than thumbnails of frequently visited sites, I now get a Bing search page.
    (2) all new pages now arrive at a window on the left side of the "Related Searches" and an ad that runs along the bottom.
    (3) this has been fixed but could be due - after the upgrade, my area of research has been failing to Bing (I do not use or as Bing). When I reset, it is again changed to Bing. I removed Bing entirely and he returned. I removed it again and so far it does not appear by default upward again, but he's back to the list of search engine after removing two times.

Thanks cor - el. I so reset Firefox and then to about: config and updated the keyword.url of Google search string. Seems to have finally worked - let's see it.

An another massive Microsoft f & * % up - those who do not or use Bing are more anti-Bing than ever.
