New Toshiba Satellite S50 pixelated icons - C series and photos on Yahoo

Hi, I like to browse using Mozzilla which I just downloaded on my laptop brand new. I set Yahoo as my face page, but all of them are pixelated as it is the Home icon and all the small icons in the upper right. Is not this way on internet explorer, when I go to yahoo. Please give simple instructions as I am not computer savvy! Thank you, Cindy

Hello

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.

You will need to restart Firefox before this takes effect so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

Then perform the following steps:

  1. Click the menu button

then select the Options under Windows or Preferences on Mac or Linux.

  2. Select the Advanced Panel, then on the general tab.
  3. Uncheck the use hardware acceleration when available.
  4. Restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

This solve your problems? Please report to us!

If the problem is resolved, you should check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in these articles in the knowledge base:

Thank you.

  • Toshiba Satellite S50 - A - is dead HARD drive?

Hello.. I hope I can get some answers from other owners of S50 - A or least maybe a tech?... are these discs defective or only supposed to last two years so you get out of your wallet again so Toshiba infiltrates the money from you?

My father bought this laptop for me for the College and school so I can work and play at the same time it's about 2 years old...

    Model of care &: S50 - A Satellite, model # PSKKEC - 00G 007 - Intel i5 - Geforce GTX A 740 m - to-SATA 1.

2 years... Since purchasing computers laptops are pretty perfect, I have done regular upward Dungeon defragments hard-ware/anti virus scans and every quarter I ran across a sweep of care system advanced... everything was fine.

The only games I play quite a lot on this laptop is counter-strike Global Offensive by H1Z1... a week ago, I was on teamspeak and it said that I had a driver error and tells me to restart, I did... and that's where it went all down hill...

I had a lot of mistakes, lack of funds etc., tried to do a reset from the pc, is not called zero also tried to try a restore of the system without success... hard disk started vibrating and making a 'written' sound (as the disc has been actively writing incredibly fast..) it was so distorted, I couldn't save any recent stuff... (last back up I did was about 3-4 months before)... no all my photos & academic materials are uploaded to servers online, so I was Biggie don't like meh, whatever... I listen to music on spotify so care to lose all that.

My only option was to format the disk and do a clean install... what worked for one week... was able to update all my drivers download/install geforce experience and my anti virus program, log in to my school credentials and downloaded steam... everything was going a lot and yesterday after a session of one hour of h1z1 I quit the game and when I tried to open my browser google chrome that nothing answered, the button start to reset would not answer the computer literally just does not react anymore than all...

Forced a restart and got bsod - unmountable_boot_volume - entered the command... prompt he says pretty well sound replacing each bad cluster known to man... nothing was fixed/repaired... do you have a chkdsk c:/r/f and got this - an unspecified error 766f6c756d652e63 3f1

I am ready to throw in the towel on this... I guess that Toshiba gives a 1 year warranty on all hardware related Articles?... so there is no point in calling me to and ship unless I want to pay an arm and one leg for another 1 TB sata-one that will only last another 2 years?... or should I go to some place local tech and get them to install a crucial 2.5 "500 GB SSD?

People of any options?... I am open for them.

    Thanks for reading,

    See you soon.

    HARD drive seems defective.
SSD is a good choice, but avoid those that use a starforce controller, since they have more problems than others.
The Intel and Samsung SSD seem to be the most compatible.

  • Downgrade from Windows 7 to XP on my new Toshiba Satellite

Why is it that I could downgrade from 7 to xp, but there are no drivers for my newly bought laptop?  XP is great and works with everything that I need.  7 changed my business by constantly resetting my network cards, and now I have problems with outlook.  I made this purchase to facilitate my business, but instead I'm limited by Windows 7.  Why has Microsoft it blocked at all levels of productivity?  Even if I care to buy the next level of Windows 7, the drivers do not exist to use.  The amount of time and energy, I have invested in this is ridiculous.  If anyone at Microsoft can help with this question, I would be very happy.

Windows XP is 9 years old, OEM wants to move. The burden of support three different operating systems is too costly. Windows 7 is supported to Windows Vista downgrade rights too. But the fact that Windows XP uses a different driver for Windows 7/Vista model, maintain the device drivers for Windows XP is just too much work. A lot of research, development and support goes into the development of drivers.

As for Windows 7, reset of the network cards, I have not experienced this on three machines I running Windows 7 (combination of 32 and 64-bit) in various configurations, working groups, residential groups and areas, in a network with previous versions of Windows such as XP and Vista.

What kind of network you are connected to, is the NIC set to obtain an IP address automatically or is static? Is it a network domain or workgroup? If this is an area, try contacting your network administrator. Make sure you have third-party software not interfere with him. In addition, if you apply a static IP address, uncheck the box to check the address in the TCP/IP properties for the network adapter window.

What kind of problems are you having with Outlook? Did you apply the latest Service Pack and post updates? I have three different versions of job Outlook very well on Windows 7.

Releasing it's easy: with Windows | ActiveWin | Laptops | Microsoft MVP

  • Need driver WLAN Win7 for my Satellite S50-B-126

    Hello

I hope you all can help me.
    I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite S50-B-126
This is with windows 8.1 BUT I installed windows 7 on it.

Now, my question is which Wireles Lann driver I need to install.

I hope you can help me.

    Thank you very much

    Ken

    Hello

I ve checked the download page for your laptop and Toshiba is fully supported for Win7 64 bit so I presume that you didn t have some problems to install the proposed drivers, tools and utilities.
I ve checked the specifications specification and discover that your laptop has Intel WLAN card inside please download offered Intel WLAN driver.

    You can find it here
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD0302U00000R01.htm

If possible post us a few comments how Win7 runs on your computer.
I also hope that you created the recovery disc before you installed Win7 on this new machine of Satellite.

    Good luck.

  • Satellite S50-B-12Z - recovery does not start

    Hi guys.

    I have Toshiba Satellite S50-B-12Z
    I can't start the recovery.

When I press the 0 key starting system, information about recovery happens.
I answer YES to the question if I want to continue the recovery and after this system appears as normal takes just a bit longer.

What will happen? I remember I managed to enter the recovery menu once but can't remember how.

I taught maybe I deleted the partition by mistake, but partition magic shows he's still there (not used status).

Any ideas why menu recovery will not come to the top?

Hold F12 for power up to display the start menu.

If "HDD Recovery" is not found, or its load fails, this means that the recovery partition has a problem.

You can order on the site of Toshiba recovery disks.

  • Satellite S50-B-151: Upgrade RAM will cancel my term?

    Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite s50-b-151 and I want to add 4 GB more RAM, but I don't know if I can do by myself or if necessary to send it to the technical service.

Because I don't want to lose the warranty.

    Thank you!

As far as I know at the bottom of the device, you won't find a separate access to the memory locations...

So the whole bottom plastic cover has to be removed to find modules.

Remove this plastic cover could void the warranty

  • Satellite S50-B-12R - Webcam does not work

I bought my toshiba Satellite S50-B-12R this Saturday but the moment where I couldn't use my webcam.

I looked everywhere for my webcam drivers, but I can't find them.
Also when I look in my configuration window there not a webcam.

But once my webcam was working, I was on Skype and it detected my webcam so I used it and then when I tried to use it later it has not been detected more.

So I would like to know if there are any missing drivers or maybe the webcam is not properly connected inside the unit. And what I need to do to be able to use my webcam

    Welcome,

    Robby

First laptop was already preloaded with Toshiba picture and all the drivers and software have been installed too.
That's why driver extra installation isn t necessary.

Secondly, preinstalled Win 8.1 system contains the driver for the webcam. The driver is designed by Microsoft and part of the system.

The 8.1 win provides a webcam application that you might find on the surface of 8.1 to win.
But before using the application, you must add the webcam access and change privacy settings.

Charm-> Open bar (Win key + C)-> settings-> permissions enable webcam & microphone

Now close and reopen the webcam app. You should have your camera app works fine now

  • Fedora 18 on Toshiba Satellite connected but no internet

Hello, I installed Fedora 18 on my new Toshiba Satellite and I encounter enormous problems.

More seriously, I can't use internet. Even when it connects to my wifi network, after a few seconds of normal behavior it won't see the internet more (even if the network manager has said that it is connected). I have to disconnect and reconnect manually then it works for a few seconds, and once it stops.

I don't know what - any help would be highly appreciated.

(I have too many other problems - I just found out that I am not allowed to change the time zone, although I type the correct password).

    Hello

    I read your message.
First of all I want to know - what was the situation with the WLAN under Windows?
Did you use that at all before moving to Fedora?

The reason why I ask, is that the symptoms you describe does not necessarily sound like a problem with drivers or the OS. Maybe it could be hardware related?

If the device was on my desk, I'll try an another live distro (maybe Fedora 17 or version 19 Alpha or some other public distribution where the drivers for your hardware are probably available as well).

If I got a different result that in Fedora 18 - OK, then I need to file a bug to the Fedora team report.
If I got the same result (remember to use a different kernel than your current 18 Fedora version!) Well, I would consider announcing the unit for repair.

To be 100% sure that you don't get a charge no problem found - recover your unit back to Windows and make sure you see that issues are visible here too.

On the root-access time zone setting.
What happens if you try general access root elsewhere.
E.g. open the terminal and type Su (Note lower case letters!).
You will be asked for the root password.

If the password is not accepted that there could be many reasons, ranging from memory human bad, bad keyboard or other hardware failure.

It is also possible to reset the root password.
    Please see this link:

    We hope to have helped.

  • Satellite S50-B-15N-Wi-Fi frequent disconnections / BSOD

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite S50-B-15N who suffers frequent disconnections in my home Wi-Fi.

I updated my drivers intel for the latest on the site of intel, but the problem persists.

The other day I got a BSOD and it came with this (NETwbw02.sys) DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Error info. After a little research, there seems to be a conflict any with the access point (router) in my house.

I also suffer from BSOD on the incidents of the core power.

Anyone have any suggestions on any of these questions?

The NETwbw02.sys file seems to belong to the Intel WiFi driver package.
But usually the Intel driver shouldn't cause big problems... but it might be possible that a different 3rd party software that is installed on the laptop is not working properly under driver Intel...
So I guess that the notice posted by Liam should help you to solve this...
