Newbe - straight line with different curves at each end

I am usually not using Illustrator I'm sure you can tell. I need several accolades, but none will really because they cover different lengths and must be the same size. It seems that the best way is simply to create an assemble two straights, but I can't yet determine how a curved at one end of the line - end yet only a second curve different at the other end. Thank you. Rick

shiesl,

For the form of the brace, you consider quarter circles at the ends and a pair in the Middle, all with the same RADIUS.

You can:

(1) create a circle with the Ellipse tool and cut it into quarters to anchor Points; You can then use all the bits or just one or two of them copies,

(2) place in the first quarter with the inner end where you want only the first part of right to start (on one side of the planned right part),

(3) place the second quarter (corresponding to a rotation of 180 degrees) opposed (on the other side of the planned right part) where you want the right part of the firrst at the end,

(4) with the direct Selection tool, select the two ends and the object > path > join now, you have half brace,.

(5) object > transform > reflect, align the two halves and join them to the midlle.

For different lengths, you can select directly the two anchor either end away from the middle (you can use arrow, object > transform > Move or other means).

(If you want to just rounded at the ends, you can simplify the suggestion here, just have the other on the same side at 3) and finish by 4).

  • Draw lines with smooth curves

    Hello

I am doing a map for an underground system in a gaming PC, and I want something similar to a Transport for London has:

    http://www.tfl.gov.UK/assets/downloads/standard-tube-map.gif

I am a total newbie with Adobe Illustrator, but I try it as I have heard that this is using Transport for London.

My question is then, what would be the best way to accomplish several lines with different colors and smooth curves, like the lines in my table of reference?

    Thanks in advance,

    Martin,

Complete what by says Kurt, you can draw traces with segments of straight lines and then cut corners later, using the effect > styles > corners (you can object > decaying appearance in order to get real rounding).

  • The ipad pro supports multiple monitors with different content on each screen?

I want to replace my laptop with an ipad pro.  Currently I drive three screens with my laptop, all with different content (VGA, HDMI, laptop screen) with no additional adapters.  The Ipad pro has a video card that will allow me to run multiple monitors (3 including the pro) with different content on each monitor?

Given that the pro iPad running iOS and iOS do not supports multiple monitors, I would say no. I may be wrong, so feel free to correct me.

  • How can I draw a straight line with a brush?

I know that the pencil tool can draw a straight line with anchor points. Is there a setting for the pencil tool which can mimic a brush of 30 points, low hardness (from left to right) at an angle of 80 degrees, or is it possible to make a straight line with the Brush tool using a mouse?photoshop help.jpeg

I know that this picture is a little blurry. what I want to do is to replace the 2 lines of white angles with point 30 brush effect 230 pixels wide. the project on the left side of the photo is a canvas 4 ' 2 ft. any ideas? Help, please.

Straight lines are simple: the brush, click where you want the starting line (you will paint one place) then hold down the SHIFT key and click where you want the line to end. Photoshop will draw a straight line between your departure and arrival.

In addition, for even more control, you can use the pen tool to create a path, then just STROKE the path with the brush.

  • Updated several lines with different values

    Hello!
I have a problem. I need to update more than 1000 lines with different values. How can I do?
    For exsample I have table:
    ID; color, date,
    1 red
    2 green
    3 white

I need to update the date field.

    Update table
    Set date = '01.02.03'
    where id = 1

    Update table
    Set date = '01.03.03'
    where id = 2

Maybe it's how to update multiple rows in a single request?

    Sorry for my bad English.
    Thank you!

    Hello

    You can try this

UPDATE TABLE SET DATE = CASE
                        WHEN ID = 1 THEN TO_DATE('01-02-03','DD-MM-RR')
                        WHEN ID = 2 THEN TO_DATE('01-03-03','DD-MM-RR')
                        END

  • How to structure the DMA buffer for SMU 6341 DAQ card for analog output with different frequencies on each channel

I use the outgoing/incoming analog DDK with the DAQ 6341 SMU map.

The examples, for example aoex5, show a single timer (method outTimerHelper::loadUI), but the example shows the DMA loaded with same size of vector data.

There is a comment in the outTimerHelper:call rogramUpdateCount, which implies that memory sizes different pad per channel can be used.

(the comment is: switching between the sizes of the various buffers is not used)

Nobody knows what should be the format the DMA buffer for data from multiple channels with different frequencies?

For example, we want a0 with a sinusoid at 1 kHz and a1 with a sine wave of 1.5 Khz.  What looks like the DMA buffer?

With the same frequency for each channel, the data are interleaved, for example (ao0 #0, ao1 #0; ao0 ao1 #1, #1,...), but when the frequencies for each channel is different, what the stamp looks like?

    Hello Kenstern,

Data are always intertwined since each card has only a single timing for each subsystem engine.

To AO, you must specify the number of samples that will be released to the AO. You also specify the number of channels. Because he didn't is that a single engine timing for AO, each AO will be channel will be updated at the same time to update clock tick. Data will be interlaced exactly as shown in the example because each channel AO needs output at each tick of the clock to update. The data itself can change depending on the frequency you want to copy.

In your example, you must come with an update rate that works for the two waveforms (sine waves of 1 and 1.5 KHz). To get a good representation of a sine wave, you need to update more than 10 x faster than your fastest frequency... I would recommend x 100 if possible.

    Update frequency: 150 KHz

    Channels: 2

Then create you stamps that include complete cycles of each wave you want to produce based on the frequency of update. These buffers must also be of the same size.

Buffer 1: Contains data for the sine wave of 1 KHz, 300 points 2 cycles of sine wave

Buffer 2: Contains data for the sine wave of 1.5 KHz, 300 points, 3 cycles of sine wave

You can Interleave them as before. When the data are performed through the ADC, they are out different sine waves, even if the AO channels are updated at the same speed.

  • Brush in a straight line with the decrease in pressure

Just past the CC on Mac 10.11 CS6. I used to draw highlights on products using my mouse and the Brush tool. C.; I think I picked a px brush 9 with 50% hardness, clicked then moved the cursor all holding the SHIFT key and click New. I could then draw a straight line, and I think I've adjusted the flow to get the color to start at 100% and cone of 0%.

I'm now trying to figure out how to accomplish the same thing in CC, but I'm having a hard time to understand.

Again, it is with a mouse, not a tablet.

Did had perhaps put opacity to flow to Fade?

  • Draw straight lines with Photoshop and the Wacom Tablet pen?

    Hello
I was just wondering how to draw straight lines using pen Wacom Intuos and Photoshop. I was hoping there was an a little sovereign tool or something that will help you with it but can not understand. Thank you ahead for your help with this.

Same as with a mouse. Click once on one end of the line the shift click on the other end of the line.

  • Shift-click to create straight lines with the Brush tool is no longer works in 2015 CC

    Hello!

I feel a maddening thing I can't explain, maybe a bug or a dark environment?

If I use the pencil tool, I can click on the same spot on the canvas, then releases, then hold SHIFT key and click in another location on the canvas to create a straight line between the two points. This is expected behavior, and Photoshop has done this for years, as long as I can remember.

Until recently, the same has worked with the Brush tool. Since the upgrade to 2015 CC, however, shift-click on demand exactly as if I was clicking simply - he draws another full brush, but without a straight line connecting the two clicks. Weird.

Everyone knows the same behavior? (CC and Yosemite are completely up to date.)

    Best,

    Jason

  • How to specify a length of straight line with the Brush tool

    Hello

I want to draw a few straight lines that have the same look as the paint brush tool. that is the ends of the lines have rounded ends.

The thing is, I want to be able to specify the length of these lines.

    (1) can I do this with the paint brush tool? So be specific with the length of the line, for example that I can specify in some fields or something like that?

    (2) otherwise, I use the online tool to look the same as a line of paint brush?

    David.

    Hi David.

    Option 2:

Select the line Segment tool (shortcut "------"). Click the origin. The dialog box should open. Specify the length. Apply a line with round cap. Adjust the width of the line and color to your liking.

    I hope this helps.

  • Export of several video tracks in 1 file with different effects on each track.

I'm currently trying to export 3 MP4 1 video tracks.

Each track contains exactly the same images, but with different effects for a certain aesthetic.

When I view the sequence he first that 3 of all titles is displayed correctly.

The exported version only seems to export the Summit track, Track3.

Track 2 and 3 have opacity at 47%.

Track 1 opacity is set to 100%.

I tried to export a test project that has several layers, and it was no problem.

I have tried exporting a test project with exactly the same opacities and effects, as it is a little of your time. So I will do if I can't get a solution of stisafctory in the forums.

The problem, in my view, is the superposition of the effects. In this case on track 3 I have procamp, which reinforces the red in 1 layer. This is the image I get once the last piece is exported - track 3.

    Then.

How can I get the effects of each layer to display correctly export?

    and

Why the exported version missing securities (or the effects of the tracks) 1 and 2?

    Need to know:

    • The layer source footage
    • Effects that you use
    • How you have the sequence in place, for example how are extracted and stacked effects
    • Hardware or software MPE
    • Maximum bit depth: on or off
    • Maximum render quality: on or off
    • Destination format

    Let's start there.

  • Select new & mask tool - draw straight line with subtractive brush?

    Thisblog:

To select it fast (W), Lasso (L) and brush (B), shift toggle tools subtract from selection to add to the selection

    ...

Click shift-click to paint a straight line between the first and subsequent

I have the selected brush, and he is set to subtract. I want to draw a straight line across topics I want to subtract. But I can't use shift to draw a straight line, as shift changes the subtractive brush in an addendum.

.. .this who am I missing?

I don't think you're missing something really, as you say press 'shift' to activate the version "+" of the Brush tool and so you will always get an addition to your selection if SHIFT-click between two points to give a straight line. If you really want to avoid using press SHIFT-click on the button 'invert' and then shift - click, when finished press "reverse" yet once and you should have what you want.

  • Good corners of lines with different angles

Hi, I am a beginner with Illustrator. I would like to smooth the corners of the strings attached to each other. In this screenshot, you'll see 3 changes of direction. I would like these changes of angles be rounder. How can I join these lines to be able to change their 'corners' to be smooth? Thank you.

    Screen Shot 2016-02-15 at 15.14.05.jpg

I'm embarrassed to ask you once again, but I chose all the lines (direct), but I don't see the choice of angle in the control bar. I also tried the effects > round corner... and it does not work. I use the 19.1.0 version. This must be the problem... I'll get the script of all round corner by Hiroyuki Sato. I guess I can find it by searching for the name of the author. Thank you.
