Shift-click to create straight lines with the Brush tool is no longer works in 2015 CC

Hello!

I feel a maddening thing I can't explain, maybe a bug or a dark environment?

If I use the pencil tool, I can click on the same spot on the canvas, then releases, then hold SHIFT key and click in another location on the canvas to create a straight line between the two points. This is expected behavior, and Photoshop has done this for years, as long as I can remember.

Until recently, the same has worked with the Brush tool. Since the upgrade to 2015 CC, however, shift-click on demand exactly as if I was clicking simply - he draws another full brush, but without a straight line connecting the two clicks. Weird.

Everyone knows the same behavior? (CC and Yosemite are completely up to date.)

Best,

Jason

  • How to specify a length of straight line with the Brush tool

    Hello

I want to draw a few straight lines that have the same look as the paint brush tool. that is the ends of the lines have rounded ends.

The thing is, I want to be able to specify the length of these lines.

    (1) can I do this with the paint brush tool? So be specific with the length of the line, for example that I can specify in some fields or something like that?

    (2) otherwise, I use the online tool to look the same as a line of paint brush?

    David.

    Hi David.

    Option 2:

Select the line Segment tool (shortcut "------"). Click the origin. The dialog box should open. Specify the length. Apply a line with round cap. Adjust the width of the line and color to your liking.

    I hope this helps.

  • How can I draw a straight line with a brush?

I know that the pencil tool can draw a straight line with anchor points. Is there a setting for the pencil tool which can mimic a brush of 30 points, low hardness (from left to right) at an angle of 80 degrees, or is it possible to make a straight line with the Brush tool using a mouse?photoshop help.jpeg

I know that this picture is a little blurry. what I want to do is to replace the 2 lines of white angles with point 30 brush effect 230 pixels wide. the project on the left side of the photo is a canvas 4 ' 2 ft. any ideas? Help, please.

Straight lines are simple: the brush, click where you want the starting line (you will paint one place) then hold down the SHIFT key and click where you want the line to end. Photoshop will draw a straight line between your departure and arrival.

In addition, for even more control, you can use the pen tool to create a path, then just STROKE the path with the brush.

  • How to animate a line with the pen tool to give the impression that it is plotted?

How to animate a line with the pen tool to give the impression that it is plotted?

Or you can choose the pen tool (g), set the padding to zero and the race to what you want, then draw a path, then press U twice to reveal all of the properties that have been changed for the layer, and then click Add (top-right) and select Connect the tracks.

To make the race work just animate the start or end point and sent to paint on original or reveal original or normal.

  • Is it possible to move a line drawn with the Brush tool

I created a document in Photoshop CC. I drew a number of line using the Brush tool in the toolbar on the left. One of the lines must be pushed a little. I can't find a way to select the line to move it. How can I do this?

Assuming that the race is separated from the others properly, you can select around it (for example, with the rectangular selection tool or the Polygonal Lasso tool), and then simply drag the pixels to where you want.

Note that if you work on background , it will fill the space left with the color of the background color swatch in the tools palette.

  • Problems with the Brush tool in Animate - chips of leaves or steps of the finished line.

Noticed this problem with the Brush tool in Adobe animate - seems to leave a chip or stage of the race over each time that a line is drawn.

Older versions of flash were perfect, no problems with the brush not tool at least.

    Hi Toby,

We have fixed this problem internally and the fix should be available with the next update to animate CC.

    No, I don't think.

Set the fill to zero at the bottom of the Toolbox.

  • Brush in a straight line with the decrease in pressure

Just past the CC on Mac 10.11 CS6. I used to draw highlights on products using my mouse and the Brush tool. C.; I think I picked a px brush 9 with 50% hardness, clicked then moved the cursor all holding the SHIFT key and click New. I could then draw a straight line, and I think I've adjusted the flow to get the color to start at 100% and cone of 0%.

I'm now trying to figure out how to accomplish the same thing in CC, but I'm having a hard time to understand.

Again, it is with a mouse, not a tablet.

Did had perhaps put opacity to flow to Fade?

  • Select new & mask tool - draw straight line with subtractive brush?

    Thisblog:

To select it fast (W), Lasso (L) and brush (B), shift toggle tools subtract from selection to add to the selection

    ...

Click shift-click to paint a straight line between the first and subsequent

I have the selected brush, and he is set to subtract. I want to draw a straight line across topics I want to subtract. But I can't use shift to draw a straight line, as shift changes the subtractive brush in an addendum.

.. .this who am I missing?

I don't think you're missing something really, as you say press 'shift' to activate the version "+" of the Brush tool and so you will always get an addition to your selection if SHIFT-click between two points to give a straight line. If you really want to avoid using press SHIFT-click on the button 'invert' and then shift - click, when finished press "reverse" yet once and you should have what you want.

  • Unable to set keyframes in the audio clip selected with the pen tool - can no longer see the volume control line after developing the clip. What could be the problem? This seems to be the problem on any project that I opened.

Cannot set keyframes in the audio clip selected with the pen tool - cannot see even the line volume control more to set keyframes on having developed the clip. What could be the problem?  I use the first CC pro @.

You can use the Ctrl key and then click with the regular selection tool, clicking with ctrl will make a new keyframe. in this way, have no need for the tools. CTRL has other great shortcuts that will stop you having to spend retouching pads tools too.

If the automation keyframe line is missing, you can switch on and off in the menu sequence.

  • by selecting the color with the Brush tool

is it possible to choose the FOREGROUND COLOR while using the Brush tool?

If I hold down the option key and click on the tool icon brush becomes the eyedropper icon, but click on produces only a COLOR of background.

I know that the tool of the icon itself can choose fade in the foreground or background, but it seems that there is a way to choose the FOREGROUND COLOR while using the Brush tool.

    what Miss me?

    Thank you

    Vince

It is possible that you have the background color of active play sample in the color Panel. Go to the color Panel and click on the foreground swatch (to make it active) and see if that makes a difference.

  • How to make a straight line with the Quick Selection tool?

Hi, I'm experimenting with Photoshop CS6 and wanted to autofocus on poles and the alley only, everything is blurry (the sky, cars, trees and higher levels). The image shows a better idea of what I mean. I am currently using the Selection tool quick to fill between the poles, then using fuzzy area, but is at - it a faster and more efficient way to do this? In addition, the quick selection tool is not perfect and shows jagged - like of the spots along the edges of the poles. I thought maybe it's posible to right field line as a box between poles and blurred in this way?WP_20130806_12_45_41_Pro[1].jpg

You would like to use the Polygonal Lasso tool to create your form of selection. Once you use blur filters, this will create a cutting edge on the mask. Select the mask in the layers panel and then apply a Gaussian blur to the mask to smooth the edge. (or use refine edge)

  • You can color in a shape with the Brush tool?

I created a simple circle and want to color a predefined brush I have.

I know that you can use the shape dynamics and layers to change the stroke color and fill color. I don't want a fill, but rather that I brush, shadow areas, so it looks like I used a pencil on paper.

I also know that I can do this manually, making sure not not to "color outside the lines" and then delete anything outside the lines that I can wear a color by mistake.

However, I have many of these objects to the color and want the freedom to move my brush beyond the edge of the circle, coloring and shading quickly with my predefined brush.

Is it possible to use a predefined brush, color of a shape, but not the coloring to go outside of the boundaries of the shape you created?

    EI

1 fools the shape layer (Cmd + J)

    2 layer > rasterize > shape

3 wand. Select the inside of the circle.

    4. Select > Inverse and then delete. This will give you some ants running on the raster layer

    5. Select > Inverse so that the Interior of the circle is the live area

    6. brush and your work will stay in the circle

    An additional Tip:

At this point before you deselect the moving dotted line, choose the command selection > Save selection. In the future, if you choose to modify the brush in the circle you can remind the mobile dotted with Select > load selection before working on the raster layer
