NI9871

Hello. I'm looking for information about wiring 2 son RS485 modbus device (Schneider Electric Altivar32 on RJ45 disk controller) in the module 4-wire NI9871 RS-485 (RJ-50) cRIO. Could someone please correct me if I'm wrong?

TXD - must be connected with RXD - on DTE creation D0

TXD + must be connected with RXD + DTE creation D1

D1 on DTE must be connected to the D1 on DCE

D0 on DTE must be connected with D0 on DCE

Thank you

Martin

Hi Martin,

Please use the forums.

Your wiring diagram is pretty decent with the exception of a single connection. You have plugged TXD + with RTS + (PIN 8) instead of RXD + (PIN 7) to compose the transceiver D1 line.

The following "Modbus over serial" Modbus specification themselves can be useful for you if you refer to pages 24/25 and 29.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards

    Hello

I want to learn the details on the box for the NI9871 module specifications... I seek but manuals just give me the pins, topology, etc. of bus connections...

How can I learn the positions of RJ-50 x 4 Sockets Windows, windows connector and 15-pin d - SUB, on the box of the module.

    Best regards...

    Hi Didier,.

What 'windows' are you talking about?

Do you need CAD drawings to specify the actual connection sheets positions?

Well, the front is about 10 cm high and holds 4 RJ45 sheets as well as the power supply plug. You still need wires to connect to the module, so it shouldn't be a problem if the plug is a few millimeters of the ideal position...

If you really care about this topic: call OR and ask a CAD diagram. Or ask a module for test purposes, most often, they have in store...
