nidist.ID

I try to install Labview 2012 to UW, which has a site license.  Not so long ago, I installed LabView 2012 successfully on a Windows XP computer.  Now, I'm trying on a new Windows 7 machine.  I downloaded Core1of4.zip and LV_ENG.zip and pulls both of them in their respective folders in the downloads folder.  Then, I put the folder ENG LV under Distributions of Core1of4.zip folder.  I also tried just to put the content of LV_ENG in the distribution folder.

I applied for the activation code.  It is the same as the one I used before.  The performance of setup.exe fine until it starts actual installation.  Immediately, I get a message that the file is not found.  This file is nidist.id.  But nidist.id (lK) present in the distribution folder.  Where is it supposed to be?

I tried various things, but get the same result.  I tried to disable the antivirus software and the Windows Firewall.  What's not?  (Whenever I have to start the process of activation from scratch.  Is there some sort of limit to how many times where we can try?)

Core1of4.zip is not any file name that I had heard before.  But it may be that something is used because of the site license.

But the question I have. "Where is core2of4, core3of4 and core4of4?  Looks like you maybe only downloaded about 1/4 of the files you might need.

  • How to get the file setup.exe to the next level?

    Greetings!

I am building an application for distribution of my project.

When I finished, I have the following file system to copy on a CD:

    -Folder of install main application

    -Application.exe (and alias and ini)

    -file data

    -File volume

    -bin folder

    -license file

    -folder supportfiles

    -nidist.id

    -setup.exe

    -setup.ini.

I would get the setup.exe file to be on top (in the installation folder main application), so that a user can immediately find this file to start the installation.

Is there a way to achieve this?

I tried to do shortcuts, but the path of the shortcut is absolute, so it does not work on the CD.

    Thanks for any help!

This configuration file is typical, if you create the Setup program in the same directory as the executable (which would by default).

But please note that the Volume file is the full installer. So if you want to distribute the application, please use the Volume folder (and its contents) only!

The bin folder contains the files * .cab - who are the installation for the MSI (Microsoft Installer) files. These files contain the files you want to distribute, if your application, application settings (ini and aliases), as well as the data folder.

So you see if you copy the Installer Application folder any hand, introduce redundancies have occurred in these files...

    hope this helps,

  • error code - 33

I am trying to build a project.  The first time, it asks you if I distributions it lists a project I had previously worked on but have since been removed and do not have access to then I answer if I listed distributions.  After that it allows me to tell him what distributions I have and I check everything I do and go forward.  Next, I get the following message without intervention to help the generator to find distributions and it errors.

    CDK_Build_Invoke.VI.ProxyCaller > CDK_Build_Invoke.vi > CDK_Engine_Main.vi > CDK_Engine_Build.vi > NI_MDF.lvlib:MDFDistCopyList_VerifyItemPresent.vi

I also found another post explaing to goto the registry and change the path of the distributions with the wrong paths to the root directory of the CD-ROM so that it would invite, if it has not been found, and I found a lot of distributions in the register named after my previous project.  is it acceptable to simply remove these registry entirely?

It is a labview project and I'll build an installer but I actually gave technical support a call after I got tired of the headaches for the day (might as well if im paying for a service contract) and it turned out that I had installed an application with these features before actually installing the rest of my development on this computer distributions stressed this former installer of this app.  I just had to reinstall each component (488.2, DURATION VISA and various components of the system OR).  Lesson today: don't forget to install things in the right order, or at least remember things were Setup.  Thanks for the reply in any case, it was probably not the appropriate Board, but I was not sure that one was.
