Vista 64 install game dark reign 2?
At any installed this game? I get error each time declaring bad necessary version 32v 64v try xp compatibility mode what big game played in the old system with the xp operating system
any help would be great.
Thank you for posting. You get this error is because the game has a 16-bit installation program to install the game. On Vista 64-bit, 16-bit applications are blocked. The only way to get them to run is to is to have administrator rights, and run the installer game itself in compatibility mode. I recommend the compatibility mode for Windows 2000, given the age of the game Dark reign 2. I know this only because I got the same error when I tried to install a monopoly very old-fashioned. I had to run the installer in compatibility mode in the oder to install and run the game.
Please let me know if this helps you. Zack

I dug up dark reign 2, a game that I used to love, some boxes while I was moving, and even if I tried to run the file setup.exe in compatibility mode it never starts the installation. It just says: it opens the installation wizard to install to help me with the rest of the installation procedure, but which never ends. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong here? I know it's an old game, but I was hoping to play again now since I found it.
The installation will not work because dark reign 2 is a set of 16 bits and would require 16-bit setup install the game. 16-bit applications on 64-bit operating system, are blocked.
Try to install the game in Windows 2000 compatibility mode and check.
As you may know, Pandemic Studios is dead; for this reason, I can not activate my copy of dark reign 2. could someone help me or advise me on how to make it work?Hi ggrifi, one) that you get an error message with a specific error code?(b) what is your Oeprating system?
If you have a 64-bit operating system, it would not work because dark reign 2 is a set of 16 bits and would require 16-bit setup install the game. 16-bit applications on 64-bit operating system, are blocked.See: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en/vistagaming/thread/54078d50-bdc9-46a7-9c77-f00fd645d661However, if you read the post above, the user has mentioned that it functioned very well under Windows XP, although it has not declared the service pack. You can try to run dark reign 2 in Windows XP compatibility mode and check if it works.See the link below, to make dark reign 2 run in compatibility mode.

I encountered a strange problem on the computer of my parents-in-law office. After an installation of SP1 (and later SP2) no sound stereo speakers that is connected to the computer to an outlet.
The computer is an Acer Aspire T180 with a built-in audio device Realtek HD (5.1, but the connected speakers are two standard PC speakers), and the operating system is Vista. Before installing SP1, the sound was working properly, and absolutely no software or hardware changes have been completed.
My troubleshooting so far include:
-Tested with a helmet and another pair of speakers that I know works
-I have obviously checked that nothing is cut in all available parameters, or speakers
-Tried each input/output on the back of the computer, as well as on the front
-Checked in "output devices" that the speakers are connected and checked by default device
-Tried the two codecs/drivers available here: http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/desktop/aspire_t180.html
-Tried the drivers of avaiable supplied directly from Realtek: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/
-Uninstalled Realtek everything (both in the Device Manager and programs) and let Vista automatically install the original drivers
-Disabled the 'digital output device (s/PDIF)"which is in the list of devices in output/game
-Unchecked the 'detect connection on the front"in Realtek audio manager program
-In addition, SP2 has been installed, which did not help. In addition, I tried every setting available, uninstalled/installed and so on. During music playback (or test tones Realtek or Windows sounds) all is apparently looking for OK with indicators of volume, jumping up and down, but everything is quiet.
So I'm out of ideas and cannot understand this. I am very grateful for any help and advice. Thank you!

Expiration errors occur in Volume Shadow Copy service writers, and shadow copies are lost during

A good utility:
Explorer of the shadow - free
After doing your restore point.
Go to Device Manager - click anywhere in the blank area - then click on VIEW - show hidden devices
Look around your Sound Device - If found click right on - UNINSTALL and when the box appears
-REMOVE the pilot - REBOOT - reinstall your latest driver - do not forget to check the version of the Device Manager
that they could rollback and you will need to install the driver - reboot - check until the correct version shows

Ive uninstalled and reinstalled several times.
Hello1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?2 are all installed games from EA sports?
Follow the suggestions given by David. F December 9, 2011.http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-gaming/APPCRASH-error-when-playing-some-games/dfc6f06c-A75F-4306-AC85-35dbbf8485a9
Follow these methods mentioned below and check.Method 1: Run the game as administrator and check.
To run an application as an administrator, you can right click on the games (icon) and click on "Run as Administrator year."
Method 2: you can try to run the game after placing the computer in a clean boot state and check.
It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.I suggest that you perform a clean boot and check.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
Note: After a repair, place the computer to start in normal mode after the article itself. If the problem is specific to EA games, I suggest you to send your query to the EA sports forum.

Your message is not clear enough.
Perhaps you could post more details as the single sentence
Simple question: assuming I made the recovery discs, is it possible to erase Vista, install XP and then re install Vista using recovery disks? The laptop is a Satellite L300-29V.
A big thank you in advance I can see no clear answer elsewhere.
If you created the recovery disc, you can do what you want. Why? Very simple: the recovery disk contains an image of the factory settings. This means that the version of Vista pre-installed with all the drivers and tools. It is him you even have started the laptop, the first time.
You can install XP, Linux or whatever you want. Demarrer start from the recovery disk, follow the instructions on the screen and you go back to Vista.
I hope this information is useful for you.
I intend to install windows 7 on my laptop, but want to know what is happening with my windows Vista, I'm running. I already made the recovery of the DVD but are they enough reinstal windows Vista after installing windows 7? or wat can I do so that this is possible?
(I'm sorry for my bad English, I am from the Netherlands)
The recovery disk allows you to reinstall Vista and all the Toshiba drivers and tools.
Don t be afraid to install Win 7.
If something goes wrong, you will be able to retrieve the laptop using the recovery disk. This will outline the laptop back to factory settings
See you soon
All, I came across this thread, after having the same problem (constant BSOD after Vista SP2) installed. The fix referenced by MS that contains a placeholder file. However, this most recent patch http://support.microsoft.com/kb/975163/ contains even more recent versions of all the files in question.
For this installation, I went to safe mode and disabled the wireless network card. I copied the fix of a usbstick on the desktop. After the reboot of the machine was stable enough to install this fix (before it would break before the fix might get installed). After the restart, yet once again, I have reactivated the wireless card.
The system seems to be stable again (its place for over an hour now, the previous record was 5 minutes approximately from SP2)
I hope this helps someone to another Google search for Vista SP2 IQ770 BSOD USB

I need to install Games for Windows Live to play several games on this laptop.
When I run gfwlivesetup, all downloads very well and gets to the point where it installs GFWL and I get the following error every time:
"An error occurred during the installation of assembly ' Microsoft.VC90.CRT, version ="9.0.21022.8", publicKeyToken ="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b"processorArchitecture ="x 86", type ="win32 "'. See Help and Support for more information. »
Looking through several log files, I discovered the error to be (0x8007078f) code that relates to, "connection failed: the machine you log on is protected by an authentication firewall." The specified account is not allowed to authenticate on the machine. »
So two things come to mind. The account is authenticated and firewall. Well, my account is an administrator account and right click on gfwlivesetup and choose "run as Administrator" does not change a thing. Well, screw the router, I just take the right out of my router modem jack and plug rather the ethernet of my laptop, without going through all the ports that can be blocked. The only firewall that is up and running (the only one installed) is the MS OS firewall, so let's just turn this baby off and still the same error.
So if we ignore all the error code (0x8007078f) completely, then we can treat the error originally presented... I see basically: processorArchitecture = "x 86", type = "win32".
Well, I'm running a Windows 7 64 - Bit, and my processor is a Core i7-740... I am out of the resources here. I have seen many people having the same problem or similar (Google reveals a lot). So if someone is willing to stick with me throughout this, I intend to see resolved (at least for me). I only pray that as I did not reinstall Win 7 or make repairs. They do not understand all of these DVDs with the laptop.
Thanks in advance,
PS: System Specs

I try to get the required drivers for Windows XP run on a new HP Pavilion Slimline s3700f computer desktop (AMD 64 x 2 5000 processor). I will remove Vista and install Windows XP Home Edition. Please include all of the drivers necessary for the performance of sound, graphics, etc.. I got this information once before for a former model Cheryl g and she is great. Thank you.
Cheryl, thank you very much for your help once again. I really appreciate your quick and thorough information, have a nice day.
I get a message when I try to install Office blades, Freestyle BMX etc., the Message says that I can't install games with Windows 7 I need Windows9x.
Some old games will install and run, some will not.
You can try to run the program to install game in W95 compatibility mode and then run the game itself (assuming that you can install it) in W95 compatibility mode. Who can help.
And have a read of this
It may also depend on your version of windows, i.e. with stuff really old (old 16-bit progs) of what Ive read, you are more likely to eventually succeed with 32-bit W7 with W7 64 - bit.
I recently acquired a tower from a friend who said that they had problems with the original vista, it came w / so he used the restoration of the system to the format & reinstall.
Everything about it seems to work fine except that now when I try to install SP1 through updates makes the system to clear its memory on reboot.
Any ideas on how to remedy this situation?
