Nightmare of CD/DVD on the new computer

I recently bought a Vostro 200 os WinXp. I ordered it with two drives. -EVENT - my main goal in life is to create CDs of music for my business and I create DVDs as well. With the old computer, no probs... It just worked. This new computer has never burned anything correctly and especially not at all. And then, after trying several times to burn the music Explorer 'My Computer' says "this program is not responding! What? !! Help, please. OK, info:

TSSTcorp CD RW DVD TS-H493B 48 x

Optiarc DVD +/-RW unit AD-5170 s 16 x

Sometimes one of them will burn music, other times not, and vice versa. Never been able to burn a DVD. (I think I need other software. Everything that came with Roxio Creator & MyDVD 9.0 was OF and I uninstalled it when things went wrong.)

With the help of the Virgin TDK CD-music, Maxell DVD + R (I tried also the DVD - R)

Burned sometimes or not using iTunes

Burned sometimes or not using Windows Media Player

<>When burning happens: goes through the process and ejects saying successful but burning the cd will not play in the computer, or on the stereo: result: new drink coaster.

<>Another message that sometimes occurs: drive not accessible

Frankly, there are so many different issues that I have become confused and cannot follow the problems except that I am totally unable to do what I bought the computer to do for me.

<>Oh, here's another... sometimes the drive assignment (d & E :) sometimes to switch between the two.

I have read many posts and some seem useful, but I'm not a geek and I'm not sure what I need to do. I'm so frustrated after spending so much time with it. Should not Dell to fix this?

I'm sorry for the long post.

All opinions, suggestions? Please?

Phone our old motherboard failed. We bought a new computer. We have tried to install CS6 - the second overall installation - on the new computer (MacBook Pro), entered the serial number, everything was fine, then received a popup from adobe "Installation Failed Adobe real verification software failure the product you want to install is not a genuine Adobe software and appears to be counterfeit. • Need some advice on the new computer from HP.

I bought a new HP computer and it shipped just yesterday and delivery date is Thursday (12th).  I am new to HP computers, my other 2 desktops are Dell and Toshiba laptop of my wife. Laptop is Win 7 and desktop computers are Win XP. The most recent Win XP is:

    Windows XP Professional SP3 32-bit
    Intel Core 2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86GHz
    4 GB of Ram.

Don't laugh, my other Dell XP desktop computer is simple core!  Laughing out loud

These 2 computers will retire after I receive and configure the HP computer:

HP Pavilion HPE h8 desktop PC - 1360t
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64
3rd generation Intel Core i7-3770 to processor quad-core [3.4 GHz, 8 MB of shared cache]
    10GB DDR3 1333 MHz SDRAM [3 DIMMS]
SATA 1 TB hard drive 7200 RPM.

Do you think I'll note and difference? (I'm kidding) Laughing out loud

    1. is there a procedure for the implementation of the new computer? I'll be the only one to use it.

    2. I also want to do a recovery disk. Can I do this after having my computer account?

    3. the computer come with Service Pack 1 installed?

    Win 7 x 64 ~ ~ SP1, IE11 ~ ~ FF i7 3770 3.40 GHz ~ 10 GB Ram ~ NIS 2014

    Congratulations for the excellent choice.

    1. is there a procedure for the implementation of the new computer? I'll be the only one to use it.

With your experience, you probably won't have a problem. I strongly support you haven't set a password on it.

You can always add a password later.

    2. I also want to do a recovery disk. Can I do this after having my computer account?

Configuration of the computer and do what is required to complete the user account. It is advisable to only use DVD + R media. You will probably need 3-4 DVD + R and the usual CD - R disc repair system.

    3. the computer come with Service Pack 1 installed? This date should be. There will be updates.

  • ITunes sees not music in itunes folder transferred to the new computer

I copied and transferred my iTunes folder from an old hard drive to new drive but when you open the iTunes application, he does not see the music in the iTunes folder.  I think it may be related to that of the old iTunes folder now in the new computer.  I have more access to the old hard drive, only the copies on external drives, so I cannot consolidate the music in one folder using iTunes.

The iTunes media folder location has been given as C:\Users\User\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media and I replaced the iTunes on the new C drive folder with my old iTunes folder copied.

In this folder iTunes are the following:

    -Working album Art folder

Press Kit - iTunes (6.8 GB)

    -Automatically add to iTunes folder

    -File mobile applications

    -Record music

    (individual files music here)

    music iTunes-(5.6 GB) file

    (other individual files music here)

    -Mobile Applications folder

    -Previous iTunes libraries folder

    2 iTunes library .itl file

2 options in iTunes, the itl files library

library engineering 2 iTunes, itl files

1 iTunes music library xml file

So I don't see that the music data in the iTunes folder, but I don't know what is wrong.

Can anyone suggest what I need to do?

    Thank you.

Restart iTunes while holding the SHIFT key, and then point it to the new location of the library.

  • Added the new computer but lost all favorite settings on old. I need new account keep different settings on both?

My laptop (i5, running Win 7) is my workhorse computer that had all my favorite settings stored. I added a new office (AMD, Win 8.1) that will be used as a multimedia entertainment unit, but when I connected the cable to install FireFox it replaced all the settings in my laptop with the new computer. How can I keep the different settings on each computer? Must have 2 different accounts to be able to do this? I have now lost the web address for some of my sites, so it's quite painful. The "recently marked with a bookmark" folder is the main problem, because it is where I was monitoring my sites.
Computer LAPTOP is Acer Aspire i5 & Win 7 runs the modules listed below.
DESKTOP is a Medion with an AMD 3.8 GHz Turbo & Win 8.1, with the new version of the FF browser.
Auto Firefox installed the same modules as the laptop, but I will change those & don't want to FF to automatically install the same on both computers. How can I separate them?

Installed Thunderbird on the new computer. Local folders migrate with success, but do not remember the AutoComplete e-mail addresses.

At this stage, you can copy abook.mab and history.mab from the old computer to the same location in the new.

All other *.mab files. representative of the address books created by the user, will very likely be imported using https://nic-nac-project.org/~kaosmos/morecols-en.html

  • migration assistant crushes apps on the new computer?

I've migrated user accounts to a new mac from an old mac. I want to migrate applications as well, but do not want to replace the existing applications on the new computer. How can I avoid this?

Generally if you are migrating a newer Mac to an older apps, they will not work because the version is too new. Migration wizard is designed to transfer data to a newer Mac. It would be better to re - download the apps you want on the old computer to get the correct version. If none of them are paid 3rd party apps, they have a license or serial number. Download them on the old mac and then enter in registration. If you paid apps from the Mac App Store, they will be on your tab bought on the older Mac.

I was wondering if, when data are transferred to the new computer, if it is removed from the old computer? I had problems the past with back ups and updates goes wrong and I fear that I will lose all my data by mistake in the transfer.

Lol the original data remains on the old computer, but don't forget to save the new computer as soon as you can.

Computer crashed recently, used the version 3.6.15, now with 4.0, how do I bookmarks from the previous version that was on the old computer. All files of this computer on the new computer under HD1?

bookmarks.html contains no bookmarks, this file is no longer used to store.

Are you sure you're looking in the right folder, you are possible to search in the installation of Firefox rather than the profile folder folder. The following link provides details on the location of the profile folder - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox

If you do not find places.sqlite you may not have access to your old profile folder.

  • Copied bookmarks to the file in the profile on the new computer, but they do not appear.

Bookmarks.html copied the folder from the old computer in XP and deposited the record .default in the profile on the new computer under Win7 folder. The bookmarks do not appear in Firefox, even after restart of Firefox and restart the computer.

Since Firefox 3 favorites are stored in places.sqlite, you must copy this file instead.

I have a new MacPro with El Capitan.  In the implementation of the new computer, I installed my email accounts, one in particular (a gmail account) had 7 GB of files.  I went into the settings Gmail and disabled Protocol IMAP AllMail, Archive, and several others that I didn't need on the Mac Mail.  It seems that there is a residue of all these emails stored on computer and I would like to remove them because they consume a lot of space on the hard disk.    Y at - it a particular cache that can be cleaned?  A special way to remove hidden files?

You must remove the Gmail account in Mail in Preferences > accounts. This will bring you to system preferences > Internet accounts. Uncheck the Gmail box in system preferences.

It seems to remove all the data, but it's actually still in the Mail. Go to the library (see below) Mail to the user folder. In v3, you will see several folders named like that.

Sign out under the Apple in the menu bar.

    Connect and empty the trash.

In system preferences > Internet accounts, check the Mail to your Gmail account. When you open Mail it will reindex messages that have not been deleted, then your Gmail messages will download from the server according to the ones you marked for synchronization.

Note: You may find that the Mail does not well with the unsynchronized all mail folder.
