Nikon 24-120 in Lightroom CC - unknown Lens
I use Lightroom CC 2015.5 with Camera Raw 9.5
When I use the lens on my Nikon D800 above, the lens is correctly identified, and I can even use the Lens Correction. However, when I put that lens on my Nikon D5, Lightroom displays "Unknown lens."
Is this a bug in Lightroom, or is there something I can do to make sure that the lens is correctly identified on my D5?

Errors in metadata in LR CC 2015:5? Nikon D7200 files shows "unknown lens.
Recently the metadata reports 'unknown lens' for my Nikon D7200 files.
If I look in the metadata Panel 'Focal length' and 'focal length 35 mm' display the correct values, but the following line "Lens" is not at all.
My Nikon 1 raw files show the correct information.
My files-D7200 earlier this year (before last update) display the correct values. All files show correct metadata in Bridge (also good in Nikon ViewNX-i and FastRawViewer)

Since the last update when importing image directly in Lightroom, metadata display the correct focal length, but will not display any information from the lens, Lightroom reports only as 'unknown lens', the info from the lens is in the meta-data... When you change an image in LR in PS then save, lens Info appears as if by magic. This is a problem of workflow for those who could use multiple lenses on a shoot... What is the status on this issue? I shoot with Nikon D800... thnx ted-lens-metadata-field-missing-on-import?topic-reply-list[settings][filter_by]=company_promo https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/camera-raw-9-5-lens-information-aux I posted this on FB with LIGHTROOM page, they instructed me to send you. Needless to say that it is a huge problem for the workflow, and reduce my bright room isn't an option because whenever he do it takes two days to arrive, and I have no time to lose if I appreciate some type of response as soon as possible

Recognition of Raw in Lightroom 6 camera lens
I use a Nikon D750 with the 70-300 mm lens without any problem with automatic recognition of lens in the develop module. Suddenly, Lightroom 6 does not recognize the lenses automatically and when you try to find the lens, the list is limited to about 6 - none of which is what I use. the list of lenses seems to have disappeared with the exception of the higher end lenses. All of my cloud applications are up to date. What happened. Its so frustrating
They are normally available with NAVE but not all with JPEG files.

Unknown lens after the filter in the Modul library metadata
Hello
I imported just a few pictures, made with different objectives. Unfortunately all the Fotos as unknown LR lists lens. It recognizes my camera (Nikon D800) but to the other column, there are unknown Lens.
How can I solve this problem? I don't want to reimport the photos, because they are already in preview and partly implemented to the point.
I chatted with support, but I advice to rename the preferences. This is not helped at all.
I described the problem enough?
Ah, I use LR CC
Thank you
Gerhard
You must update to LR CC 2015.5 / 6.5. Help > system information to check which version you're on.
Once that you have updated, select all the pictures concerned, to metadata > save to a file, then the metadata > read from a file.

why I can not open my D7200 Nikon RAW files in lightroom 4.4, it'll work if I upgrade LR CC?
Hi mikegcross,
Nikon D7200 files are not supported in Lightroom 4.4
Yes, it would work very well after that the Lightroom CC/6 upgrade or you can use Adobe DNG Converter to convert these files to DNG and then import into Lightroom.

Please add support for the Nikon D600 RAW to Lightroom as soon as possible!

Yes, I see all other D600 support request. I am here to pray for her! Don't make me wait much longer!

Photomerge Lightroom CC - unknown error
Hello
When I try to use LR to merge pictures for a panorama I get a message "unknown error occurred" very soon after starting the process. This has only started happening since I swapped a Nikon a Canon D 760 and so now use instead of .dng .cr2 files. I can do all the rest of the photos, but to merge them, I need to convert them into .tif first and avoid rather have to do that if I can. I don't use LR for HDR but tried to merge with an HDR and who also does not and gives me the same error message.
Relevant details;
Computer is a Toshiba Satellite L - 50, all drivers updated on weekends (including graphics), 8 GB RAM, Core i7 2.60 GHz, Radeon 2 GHz graphics card and running Windows 10
Version of Lightroom CC 2015.3
I tried to disable 'Use graphics processor' and it makes no difference
Fusion works always with the Nikon .dng files
I increased video and camera raw cache 5 GB sizes each and also served the two
Canon EOS D 760 and lens is Canon EF24 - 105mm f / 4L IS USM
As the issue began only since I changed to the Canon camera, I guess it has to do with .cr2 files, but I'm at a loss for what is why this might be the case because LR load the images very well. I noticed looking in the raw data files are truncated to 5334 x 4000, which I suppose is a setting in the camera (haven't checked, yet to learn about it) - don't know if that's relevant or not, but you never know!
I expect ideas or suggestions of things to try anything that anyone could be able to offer a potential solution would be appreciated.
Thank you
Phil
5334 x 4000 is an aspect ratio of 4 x 3 instead of the native proportions of 3 x 2 camera. Check the proportions in the camera settings and change it to 3 x 2 and do a few test shots to see if the pano works.

RAW is not recognized [cannot open Raw of Nikon D5 files in Lightroom 5]
I have a Nikon D700 and you can import RAW into Lightroom 5. You just bought a Nikon D5 and Lightroom does not recognize the raw format. What should I do?
Frog
The D500 was initially supported by Lightroom 6.5 or Lightroom CC 2015.5. You can either buy an upgrade, or use the free DNG Converter to create copies DNG you can use Lightroom 5.

Why can't import of Nikon NEF files in Lightroom 6?
I bought Lightroom 6 recently, and he has now upgraded to the latest version. I use a mac as El Capitan.
Normally, I shoot and import the jpg files from my Nikon D5300, but thought I would try shooting RAW. However, despite the fact that the camera is supported and the help of Adobe pages confirm that there should not be a problem, the file will not import directly from the memory card. Lightroom displays thumbnail images of photos - as usual - but then comes up error message, that the files were not imported because they could not be read. Nor NEF files copy as DNG on the hard drive.
I went through all the settings and spent hours reading the forums. I know that I'm probably going to convert files, but it would be great if it worked right. What is the problem here?
Hi giuliamary,
Seems that your place of destination is not properly defined.
Make sure that the location of 'TO' in the top right of the import window is correctly set and a full read and write permissions.

Import d7200 Nikon .nef files into Lightroom 5.7.1
Why Adobe don't make it easy on photographers and do so that you can directly import raw files into lightroom from Canon or Nikon or Olympus. Why hassle free to your users and make them go through the dng converter. This seems really bad business.
Tom Bocian wrote:

The D7200 requires at least 6.0 Lightroom or Lightroom CC 2015.0. If you have this version and get this message then it could be that you used an earlier version of the Nikon software to upload your images.

Good news. The problem has been resolved.
Jim Hess has proposed the following:
"I don't have a total solution for you. But in the screenshot you provided, the image you are trying to import is already on the hard drive. What happens if you switch from the copy option to add? I was wondering if that could import one image. We must start somewhere, right?"
Just for info, before I had been using the function 'Copy' or the function "import and convert to DNG. So I have exactly like Jim suggested and "Added" one image (a NAVE which had been converted to DNG). By using the function 'Add' not only worked, but now, Lightroom is recognizing the file NAVE of Nikon D810 and import as a champion. I don't HAVE NO reinstall Lightroom. Just "Adde" that photo and that seemed to fix everything that was happening.
I don't know about you, but I suspect there was a problem of association with Lightroom who need to restore a path to the catalog somehow.
Thank you for all your help. I sincerely appreciate it!
