  I'm having a problem where I get a sign in error whenever I try to access my Hotmail account using my smartphone or windows live mail.

  It seems that if you have activated the two-step verification when you changed your
  password. If you did, you can not use this password to authenticate in stupid
  programs like Windows Live Mail which cannot ask or submit to security codes. You
  need to generate a unique password app to use in situations like this.

  I have re-installed Windows 7 on my computer, no change of equipment except the hard drive repartitioning. I have not activated windows within 30 days. I am trying to activate windows online after installation. I get the message error 0xC004C008. That's why I launched telephone activation.

  Had XP in a Dell netbook that was purchased new a few years back. Dell committed suicide a month ago so I took XP and installed in an IBM ThinkPad I have.

  Problem is that any route I take for activation, I can't get this "thing" to activate. The phone operators are useless. I installed the o/s disk Dell which can with the laptop, because Microsoft will provide a copy when you buy the system and it worked fine for a week about.

  I know all about the problems of having a different motherboard, blah, blah, blah blah. I'll have to buy a new drive to get the activation?

  The OEM versions cannot be moved to another computer. Yes, you need another copy.

  (I'm quite surprised that the CD same Dell worked in an IBM...)
