No diagnosis after F10 screen

I have a laptop Envydv7 with windows 8.  Product # is B6B75AV.

I tried to access the diagnostic screen to check the status of my hard drive.  When I turn the unit on and press F10 it doesn't fit on the screen, I think that the right pair, but there is no 'diagnostic' or 'tools' listed above as an option to select.   Do you know where is the quotes screen?

Thank you

Hello pikake:

Wow HP gave our computer to different name but the same computer I used B6B75AV and it brought my computer HP Pavilion DV7t-7000CTO, which is the computer he brought not HP computer Envy. Our manual, I chose Windows 8. http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03501826.PDF   Press ESC, then f - 2

Manuals have a lot of information, you should check out them but I don't think you coppied your just right model number.  You are welcome there should be the same with your computer. Because I used Windows 8 search instead of windows 7.  frrw

As far as I know, second HARD drive has nothing to do with the boot and he's here for the backup data.
You can remove it, but also be able to boot OS if everything is OK.

  • HP Z820 hang after F10 at startup

    Hello

Yesterday, I received a z820 new with FreeDOS. Installed SUSE 11 and applied the fixes of the CED Z820 HP - everything seemed to work fine.

After a while I decided to restart, but without success - after the start power HP screen, the workstation detects disk HARD 4. By pressing a key to result a black screen without any message.

Pressing F10 after market results in the message "Entering setup" and the system hangs. It's very strange that I can't get into the BIOS!  Is there a solution?

Thanks in advance for any help and comments.

    Finally, the problem was located.

I took out all the hard drives and then the work center has been able to accept the F9, F10 and other commands.

Knowing the problem, it was easy to reconfigure the 4 hard drives in a RAID.

This will destroy all information on the hard drives, but the system has now responded to F10, F9 etc.

Next step is to reinstall the operating system.

Hope that tomorrow to have success with SUSE 11.

  • Computer does not start after the screen of the bios, Compaq Presario SR1023WM

Ok. Trying to fix a friend's computer and seem to have met a strange barrier.

Problem: The computer does not start after the bios screen.

Details: When you turn on the computer, the compaq logo with intel inside is and has the < F1 Setup > and < F10 System Recovery > options listed as well.  And that's it as far as the computer becomes.  After that the computer just locked up, no work of buttons on the keyboard lights keyboard ect ect.  I tried the puree on the F1 key, as soon as I turn on the computer and I can handle so he can say * entering setup * but it freezes again after this point.  I already tried to eliminate the possible sources of the problem, removed all expansion cards, HDD and Dvd Rom module only disconnected, only memory (256 MB ddr 2700), power, vga and keyboard connected.  Ive also used the jumper on the motherboard to clear the cmos, hoping that would solve the problem without success.  I tried using a different memory stick and different memory as well...  Tried to use both a ps2 and a usb keyboard... Ive even tried pulling the rider for the protection of the bios password (even if she did not have a password on it, just try everything I can think of).

The installed bios version is 3.1, and that's all that I know on the computer at this point, except that the website tells me to him.

  • Re: Satellite A500-1 - slow after blue screen

    Hi all

I've owned a Satellite A500-1 in a year with no problems at all until a few days ago. When it tuning on it gave me a blue screen of death, and after 10 seconds, it turned blue, so I couldn't read error.

I noticed reduced performance since it happened. Especially when you play games or movies HD, the picture and sound will freeze every few seconds. This happens in Windows 7 and Ubuntu. I did a new install of both, but the problem persists.

I scanned the hard drive and memory errors, but it wasn't everything. Cant someone give me some advice, please?

    Thank you

    Hello

    > This happens in Windows 7 and Ubuntu. I did a new install of both, but the problem persists.
This would mean that the problem is hardware-related and operating system installation seems to be ok, but it could be anything and it s is not easy to say what part is affected.

Some parts, you can check yourself like RAM and HARD drive.

    http://www.HitachiGST.com/HDD/support/download.htm#DFT
With the Drive Fitness Test, you can test your HARD drive. Download the CD image, burn it to a CD and boot from it. Then you can test the HARD drive.
On the same site is a user's guide if you want to know more.

    http://Memtest86.com/
Memtest86 is a diagnostic tool to check the RAM. Here, you can also download a CD image.
It s easy to use. Run the test of 3-4 hours and then you will see if the RAM has some errors.

If both tests cannot find an error, it must be another problem as the motherboard or the CPU. For such a diagnosis, you must contact an authorized service provider. They can help you get rid of this problem. You can find a complete list of the guys here:

  • MacBook pro grey after sleep screen

I have documented on this problem for some time now on the MacBook screen goes black or rather a visible backlight gray but black screen after being in standby mode. I tried the reset SMC and command + Option + P + R. I am owner of a mid 2014 13 "macbook pro retina.

    Hi Youngnn,

Welcome to Apple Support communities. It is my understanding you are MacBook Pro shows a gray screen after being in mode 'sleep'. I want to help get this resolved with you.

You did a great job with the steps taken so far. At this point, I recommend this test in safe mode. Start in safe mode prevents the opening and start-up items to open automatically. Safe mode also allows your Mac to conduct some controls. If the problem does not occur in safe mode, it is possible to a startup item or logon are the cause. Please follow the steps below to start in safe mode:

    1. Start or restart your Mac.
    2. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.
    3. Release the SHIFT key when you see the logo Apple appears on the screen.

After the Apple logo appears, this may take longer than usual to reach the login screen or your office. This is because your Mac performs a check of directory of your drive to boot in safe mode.

To leave safe mode, restart your computer without pressing any keys during startup.

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning

If the problem persists in safe mode try this test to another user. This will help determine whether specific user files, settings and apps cause this problem. Please use the link below to test in an another user account and additional steps:

  • Satellite A300-114 - not reinitate after that screen stops

    Hello.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A300-114 running Windows Vista Home Premium.
It worked well until two weeks, now, after some time of inactivity, the screen goes off and it turns on again. Spots bright disk hard but the screen remains black. This becomes more often.

Does anyone have the idea, what the problem?

    Thanks :)

    Hi jjginga,

Have you tried an external monitor to your laptop computer? It's interesting because if you can identify if this is related to the internal screen or graphics card.

I had a similar problem on my laptop that the internal screen was black, only the outer one worked. The solution was replacing FL inverter or screen internal.

    Hey,.

Can you start in safe mode when you press the F8 key?

If you don t have a recovery disc and can access t the start menu Windows Advanced, you can try a normal Microsoft Windows disk to reinstall Windows.
All the drivers and tools that you can download from the Toshiba page.

  • Satellite Pro P100 - multiple display after Exchange screen problem

My laptop: Toshiba Satellite Pro PSPA6A-028017 with Nvidia GeForce Go 7900GS

OK, here's the story. I turned on my laptop about a week ago and the screen is blank. I plugged in a monitor external via AVI and tried Fn + F5, but nothing. When the computer reboots, the external screen worked. When I tried to turn on/off displays the external monitor is turned off and I found myself with an empty screen - I was obviously spent on screen of the laptop but working blind, I couldn't work out how to get the external monitor to start again. FN + F5 did nothing.

At that point, I called Toshiba for the support of the warranty (on-site, next business day). They had a technician with new monitor/display on site the next day (after a few calls me to follow up). It has replaced the screen but struggled to lift the screen up and running. He finally managed to logon Windows safe mode and get running but only display on 800 x 600. It has updated the Bios and drivers. He could then up to the 1024 x 768 resolution. Highest and the screen would be left empty.

At that time we plugged in an external monitor via VGA. It worked, but the technician couldn't get the each display to run on each resolution. He left him speechless and he acknowledged that things still are not good. Later, after that the technician had left, I managed to get views working so each to their own resolution. However, I could not always connect the external monitor via DVI (VGA only). I was at least temporarily to work!

The next morning that I turned the laptop on to find that I was back was started. No display on the laptop and on the external monitor only low resolution. It seems that the external monitor is simply cloning which should show the computer screen.

Under the display properties > settings the display shows:
    1. (multiple screens) on NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS
2 Dell G2410 (Analog) on NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS

I know that when everything is working properly, he said not many monitors. The only screen I see is the Dell external monitor. And when I identify the Dell screen is no 1, even if it's not listed number 2.

I don't know anything about the cards video etc, but a theory I have is that adapter is defective and is only show the analog signal. That is why I think that the screen of the laptop and external monitor (connected via DVI) works not done the external monitor connected via VGA (but it seems to be imitating the screen of the computer, allowing only the laptop screens range of resolution). Is that possible?

Someone at - it ideas? The problem is likely to be the video card? I'm puzzled. I'll have to get the technician on the spot back (which will probably still 2 days and several calls, follow-up) and I don't want to lose any time. I have a business to run and I have now lost a weeks work already. If I can offer some strong theories before the technician comes on the spot, sometimes we can get parts ordered in advance.

My warranty expires in a few weeks, so obviously I want this fixed correctly in the shortest time. I don't want to wait 2 days for a technician to come and have to wait another day or two for parts.

    Help, please!

    Thank you
    Ghjghj

It is not easy to offer the correct answer and explanation why this happens here on the forum. In laptop cases should be tested with diagnostic tools to ensure that what is the problem.
OK, exchange of display was a step in the right direction but, of course, this question is more complicated and doesn t happen due to the defective screen only.

I agree with Akuma and also thinking that there must be a hardware problem on the motherboard. Before the expiration of the warranty, you should contact the service again and let check portable equipment.
The fact is, if there is that no book of hardware malfunction should work fine preinstalled with delivered recovery image (Toshiba CD/DVD recovery facilities).

Please, don't wait too long and contact ASAP. They check your laptop. the warranty is still valid and your laptop needs to be repaired.

    Good luck!

  • Qosmio X 500-058: no recovery after plugging screen down when the HDMI port is used

When I connect my new Qosimo X 500 - 058 to monitor external (with the help of an HDMI to DVI converter cable), everything works well until the power of Windows application options off the monitor.

Once this has happened, the screens don't wake up and stays black.
The PC were not crushed, and if you press Ctrl-Alt-Delete, you get the normal menu options.

But if you press Cancel, or lock, and then enter the password, the screens go black again.
This problem does not occur if I remove the HDMI cable and use only the laptop screen.

I found that if you select the option change user after pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del monitors come back to life after a lot of glitter, if at least I don't have to re-boot each time. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I trouble shoot this?

    Cheers, Alun

    Hello alum

Have never heard about this but anything is possible. It will be interesting to see if the same problem persists without DVI converter cable.

When this happens can you use FN + F5 key combination to turn on the transparent back of laptop?

  • Broken after repair screen

Recently, after a message received on the laptop advise it be returned because of a problem with the fan, I sent my laptop to Toshiba UK, it was packed in the same packaging, he came and was in perfect condition when it was sent.

Now, after days of waiting for my laptop I rang and war horrified to discover a huge crack has been found due to the 'insufficient packaging' (even if it is their packaging) and I'm actually to pay more than £210 for a problem that was not caused by any fault of my own but people who cared UPS, and Toshiba. It is outrageous that told me to pay for the mismanagement of another person and I ask help be given to me or I will have to seek legal action. Other that the problems that have been found have been repaired under warranty but I still have the fact of a screen broken due to the fault of others. Please help me, my serial number is 5A469064Q. Call reference number is 71154900.

My package was the original, it was well packed with polystyrene scaffolding around each side and toshiba or their mail broke it and try to charge me to pay to fix it.

    Hey Buddy,

I think that you are not happy with the situation at the present time. It was really bad luck, what happened to you.

But don t forget that nobody is perfect. I don t know all the information, but I think that it s not Toshiba for lack of s. I think that your package wasn t correct handling or a very heavy Pack fall on your cell phone plan during childbirth, so the screen is broken.

In any case, you need to do something and you should contact Toshiba UK and inform them of the situation. I m that guys are going to help and clarify this with UPS too.

Keep smiling, all issues can be clarified and you're not lost ;)
