  • For a laptop for the loading of images from LR on travel - is 1366 x 768 screen enough and the size of the HARD drive?

    I have big PCs and giant screens for the home edition, but for travel I am looking for a laptop for image loading on the road and the base LR sorting and marking of displacement.

    2 questions for your experiences, the regulars of the forum, in my opinion:

    1 1 TB HDD with an external 1 TB HARD drive as backup - rather than 256 or 512 GB SSD IB (reasons of $$$ and also to load all my images on a trip)

    2. 14-inch screen 1366 x 768 or similar instead of full HD ($$$ reasons and because I tell myself that I can zoom in to check the focus on this screen very well)

    Your comments and your experiences?

    Sorry for not giving you enough information

    Cameras include a D800. Last long trip saw about 600 GB of images that I kept on a laptop for about 100 GB of capacity, then on a portable HARD drive (with an another portable HARD drive for backup). I have not run LR on a laptop connected to hard drives external and thought that it would be better all around having large drive onboard

    Computer laptop features include an i7, with a graphics card to support enough treatment LR for the process of cataloguing "on the trip.

  • Export options for the screen display?

    I want to do a screening to export a lot of photos that will be visible on the phones, tablets, and TVs.

    1. is the best sRGB color for the on-screen display space?

    2. I'm culture images in 16 x 9. All the megapixels in these pictures are wasted for the display? I'll change the resolution to 72, well that what should I do with the megapixels?

    Thank you.

    It was not the case for a long time.

    A pixel is a pixel. 2000 pixels will be 2000 pixels to display. the question is that of the device. The native resolution of a in 20 Apple Cinema Display is 1680 x 1040 so a 2000 pixel wide image will be too large for the screen at 100%

    On the other hand, the iMac 5K has 5120 x 2880 the same 2000 pixel image would take less than half of the screen.

    The 'thumb' of 72 240 or 300 resolution concerns only thumbs on a sheet of paper, not a screen.

    If you wish, you can create a CD Win XP SP2 clean! How? It's very easy. You need the tool freeware nLite (google for it and how to use it).

    Using the nLite application you could create a new XP CD and could include SP2 in this CD. You can then use this disk to start!

  • U410 won't start - stuck in the Windows loading screen?

    Hi, I have a U410 that no longer starts. Don't know what he did stop. At startup, it loads the startup Lenovo screen, then the loading screen Windows 10 forever (balls chasing each other in a circle). I can't get combinations of keys F bring me to the BIOS. I tried to use the Novo, but not the work of options other than the restoration of the system. They all display the startup Lenovo screen, then the Windows 10 loading screen.

    I created a bootable USB floppy and USB boot, but I never have an option to get the BIOS or choose another Boot device.

    Thanks for the answer, it turns out that it was the hard drive.

    There's something corrupt on it and it wouldn't start. I took and connected to another machine, but he was not recognized by the BIOS or Windows. I returned to the U410 and starts in with the Novo button restore mode. Curiously, it worked and I was able to restore the machine back to original settings and then upgrade to Windwos 10. I lost all data on the HARD drive, but it's normal. She has been saved and most of the records is anyway in the cloud.

    Not trusing stability of this HARD drive, I decided to replace it with a Samsung SSD. It was a great experince. Samsung provides a disk copy utility that works on the HARD drive running! A took about 45 minutes to reflect the existing for the connected SSD HDD. After that, I have swapped drives, ran the optimization of SSD and it was good to go.

    The special tools required for this were opening and pry tools and an USB HARD drive adapter. There are many videos on YouTube that show how to open the laptop.

  • VRML loading screen

    Hello

    Do a small project where I take a folder full of files, VRML and loading in an image control. The problem is that it can take a little time to do it according to the number of files is. I was wondering if it is possible to build a loading screen for this.

    Attached is the most simple VRML loader (ignore some of the matter in the case structure they will be used later) also attached is one of the VRML files

    Thank you for your help

    Hi again,

    I have good news. I managed to find out why VRML files are so slow (it is a little off topic but could help some people). The VRML file created in Solid Edge is very poorly structured and is very difficult for any program (including LabVIEW) to deal with. Thus, even a reduction of quality will not help much (it will help, but not as much as re structuring VRML)

    http://www2.HRP.no/VR/tools/chisel/install.htm

    The link above is a FANTASTIC program that will sort you files for you I found that be a bit careful what options you turn on, as some will really lower the quality, and some will be unreadable VRML.

    From personal experience, I found that the best option was to reorganize section and is called "Join the shapes of color", this reduces the number file size and polygon by approximately 50%

    play with the other options, but save a return to the top!

    Oh and the above program is free!

    Here's the finished application if someone wants to do a quick look

  • The mouse graphic error, impossible to get rid of him, until I restart. Loading screen error, video included.

    OK, so here is the thing. I'm a gamer, I play Everquest right now and Im having problems with my computer 'new '. It was bought used, but when we test tried at home to the owner initial, everything worked perfectly. Since then, my husband has reformatted and put on Windows Vista Buisness on it. After a post on the game forums, Kevin helped me to get the PC to stop locking up. Yet, I still have the other problem with the mouse pointer.

    First thing first: computer information!
    Edition of Windows: Windows Vista Business Service Pack 2
    System:
    -Processor: AMD Athlon (TM) 64 X 2 Dual Core Processor 5000 + 2.61 GHz
    -RAM memory (RAM) 3.00 GB
    -System type: 32-bit operating system
    Graphics card: Radeon HD 4850
    Motherboard: nForce 590 SLI

    Next: I am 100% positive that there is no update pending for the operating system. There are things in option that I can install it, but they are not relevant to the problem that I currently have.

    So here's the question:

    (1) for the loading of Windows Vista Business. I see the text channel 0 Slave and in the lower right of my two monitors, both monitors so it is important, there is a rectangle that is 1/2 at the bottom of the screen.
    I included a video of him: [URL = http://tinypic.com/r/jhae14/5] View My video [url]
    (2) sometimes when the games, I see a square box that resembles film developed that appears randomly on the screen.
    Note: I only see the error all in game, because when the PC is on that's what I do. Here is the screenshot [IMG] [line] http://i44.tinypic.com/2evqekg.jpg
    (3) I have experience this behavior in and out of the game, but the screenshots in EQ are easier and faster to make and Vista does not see the problematic mouse pointer when you take a screenshot of it. Sometimes I will be able to tab in and out of what I do and it will go away, othertimes it requires a complete closed system and then it will go away. Here is the screenshot: [IMG] [line] http://i43.tinypic.com/qqswtx.jpg With the image that I just linked, there are three examples of the problem. The upper left corner has the double serrated edge, the other two posted on a character's head to make it easier to see. (Not sure if the 2nd link works or not. List of URL to Tinypic to show errors: http://tinypic.com/r/qqswtx/5)

    These problems don't always cause me down, but there are moments where I feel this graphic glitch, so the computer has locked up. It's incredibly less frequent that another EQ crashing the computer problem, I had. He posted the question here, happens once or twice every two days, when it isn't something I can deal. In the 2nd picture the edge serrated turning into that, you can always click in the right place. One would think that you would use just the tip to click on something, but sometimes this does not work and must continue to go upward or downward a bit to get to what you were tryin to close / open / whatever.

    Thank you for your time!

    Hello Dewifey,

    Thank you for posting.  I checked the other thread just so that I would have a complete understanding of the problem.  I studied him this strongly and I came up with some possible solutions for you.  As seems to be more than a gliche graph, I will propose common fixes first.  The first is to check the site ati.amd.com for updated for your video card drivers.  The second is to check for updates or patches for the game Everquest game.  Now we can get right to my search results.

    The only problem with EQ is really changes to security of XP to Vista.  EQ always assumes that users will run as administrator with full access to all under the directory %ProgramFiles%.  In Vista, even if logged in as an administrator, you don't actually run as administrator.  You must explicitly elevate your rights before becoming administrator (such as right click, run as administrator, or configure the program to run as administrator).  Just put the game to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 2 and run in administrator mode.
    If you forget to do this, the patch cannot connect records and will be silently _ it's short films before leaving.

    This step applies only if you run the game in windowed mode.

    One way to expedite EQ in Vista is to click right on eqgame.exe and on one of the tabs that you can disable "desktop composition" that disables the interface Aero and stop the GUI running on your video card.

    Please let me know if this helps you.

  • Windows XP Home, black screen after loading screen (seemingly unique problem)

    Hi all

    I am trying to upgrade to service pack 3 Windows XP home on my old computer from eMachines T2838 and experiences a @# *! a time to do it. This is the third time in 2 days I had to wipe my HD and re - install XP, because of some problem installing updates which has damaged the operating system.

    Here's my current situation.

    Yesterday, after the failure of the HD for the second time (computer got stuck "performing cleanup" on SP2, forced a reboot, got a restart loop after, would not load Windows) I installed XP, update to SP2, then downloaded the service pack real itself. He has installed fine and asked me to restart.  I respected that, and the computer restarted. As soon as the "Loading" screen popped up, I knew that something had gone wrong.  When I started on the desk, I was stuck in 640 x 480 w / 4 - bit color graphics mode. Could not be set. So, I thought, okay, let me reboot Windows and see if he "rediscovered" the integrated video card. Well, I restarted, and the "loading screen jumped into the appropriate color mode / resolution, so I thought that I was in the green."  Well, after that, all I get is a black screen. No message 'No signal!' or anything like that.  Even tried a few instructors that I have. Looked around online, has seen the references to "Last known good Configuration" 'safe Mode' etc etc.

    I tried all the options on the list of F8. Either she freezes at Mup.sys xxxxxx or boots up to the loading screen and then goes black after. I can hear the HDD does it's thing for a bit, so I don't know it is loading this screen "check to activate the automatic updates" which appears after SP2 is installed, but I can't.

    Use the recovery console, (did the repair option the first time after it kept restarting, Windows took 5 minutes to start an IE6 get locked every opening, so had to wipe and re-install) typed "chkdsk/p/r" and he did his thing for about 30 minutes, rebooted and still have the same problem.

    I don't know what else to do. I REALLY want to redo everything this a fourth time, only to to have screw it up once again, and I don't know how many times I can use the key I have on the back of the computer.  (Using a retail disk and an OEM key, Finder product key changer.) -A Microsoft Support Officer showed me that one. Quite handy.

    People do you have any suggestions?  I would really appreciate it.

  • Windows black screen after the loading screen

    OK, so when I start my computer, it loads ok until it reaches the windows loading screen then the screen goes black. I can see the good mouse but that's all. I can also spam the 'shift' key and hear the sound of the keys sticky so I consist the computer is simply not exposed. IV looked on the web and say safemode works but it doesn't. IV tried to do a Factory Reset, but I'm not 100% sure how. If nothing else there can you please help me do this. I have a HP desktop computer.

    The help is GREATLY appreciated because I really need to use my computer. Thanks :)

    Hello

    To restore your system check with support of the manufacturer of the system as they all have their own methods.
    (See InPlace upgrade / repair Installation and recovery following Options.)

    You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer or an external hard drive enclosure, then
    saving them. Do this using several methods to redundantly. Of course, a real computer
    Shop or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

    ================================================================

    Some of them may not work now however they are abandoned in just in case get you some
    access.

    You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
    Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
    on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

    Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure)
    CTRL + ALT + DELETE and on the tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - then
    on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is reached
    by tapping F8 as you start several times.

    First check this thread in case it is simple and if not to come back to this thread.

    Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all patch is usually on a base hit or miss.
    That there is no information on a black screen as it is on a blue screen just adds to the
    Difficulty. Often using a restore point or Startup Repair will have no effect. You can try a

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    3 Alternatively, use Knoppix Live CD to recover data:
    Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.
    Download the Vista software from the link above.
    After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.
    Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.
    Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.
    Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.
    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.
    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.
    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).
    Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.
  • Adding validation to Apex 4.1 data Excel loading screens
    Hello
    I use the standard data loading Apex 4.1 of the CSV file option, which works very well. However, I would like to add data validation custom before inserting data into the table. Which means, I can run some sql code and then a message appears saying that the line already exists. However the user is allowed to continue with the load, in the affirmative, he takes or cancels. I was wondering what would be the way to add this logic? I think one way would be to update the front insert trigger, however, that only would have the option to generate an error. So I was wondering if this can be done in the data loading screen.
    Thank you
    Sun
    • Start by filling the data in the apex_collections/temporary table
    • Add validation on the page that runs when a button is clicked (lets say process) OR make an ajax call to verify the data in the collection for the lines double
    • If there is a duplicate and then display a confirmation message using http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21676/javascript_api.htm#CHDGHCBE
    • If Yes, select bypass validation, then fill in the data in the main/basic table
  • Perpetual "Loading" screen... »
    Hello
    I am a new user of Captivate 6 on a Mac under OS 10.7.5.  I created 5 projects in Captivate that I am a link using aggregator. Each project is between 30-65 blades long, many question and little audio slides.
    Three of these projects load and run fine when published under the title of .swf or. app.  Two of them stuck with a first gray slide and a box of 'loading... '. ».  This happens when I try to get an overview of the projects in a browser, and also when I opened the files published (as .app or .swf).  I've tried other solutions such as the compression settings check - that has not solved the problem.
    I'm not planning to download it to an LMS - I'm to report results of quizzes to acrobat.com and works.
    Thanks for any help or information you can provide!
    The cargo box that you see here is not the Captivate preloader.  This is the loading screen that appears when a project is trying to communicate with an LMS System.
    You happen to have lit Quiz Reporting options?  If so, disable the reporting and the loading screen should disappear.
  • Loading screen does not accept animated GIFs?
    Hello world.
    My captivate 3 projects use the loading of the company logo.
    The problem: the company logo is animated, and the Captivate 3 loading screen does not seem to allow for an animated loading screen.  A static image of the company logo is displayed instead.  This tends to give the impression that a project of loading froze and it aggrivates customers.  Does anyone know how to display the logo of aniamted together?
    Hello
    Try this if it can help you by adding the Logo of your company.
    Open a small project (100 PX by 100 PX) and follow the Insert > Animation.
    Select the Animated Logo company. The Animation is added on stage.
    For best results you can run a loop of animation (Animation properties, tab Options-animation select loop) - this step is optional
    Edit > Preferences > start and end - uncheck the "loading screen".
    Also follow project > skin and uncheck the 'Playback control' and 'borders '.
    Publish the project to Flash (swf). A little Swf of your Logo is now available.
    In your project, under the loading screen options, select the Swf file created. Now, the loading screen can play Logo of your company.
