  Yes, as I mentioned, accidents have disappeared after installing the latest driver Nvidias own site.

  Remaining problems are small problems which I can live with to what NVidia fixes if all goes well with an updated driver.

  But it was really great to see instructions on how to start in safe mode on Windows 8. I always wondered who. Thanks again Adam! :-)

  After posting the above question, I discovered the following: my camera would not appear when I click on computer, but if I go to "Devices and printers", my iphone shows up with a triangle with an exclamation mark inside.
