No overdrive media player security upgrade.

After you download the Overdrive MEDIA PLAYER software. I have to download media player upgrade security as always.

I've never had bad until I tried to put it on Windows 8 Pro. After the success of the download. I have to download the media player security upgrade. (It seems that whenever Microsoft comes out with another operating system I have to download the upgrade of old even.).

"A pop-up box says" windows media Player encountered a problem while playing the file. So no upgrade.

I looked for answers but can't find the right...

I have exactly the same problem, some programs were eliminated from the Windows done 8 update, among them Overdrive Media, reloaded, he needs the security update. Have you tried with tools on the Microsoft site also Overdrive, the grey area does not accept anything. I called Microsoft, very polite, but they couldn't help. Your problem has been solved? If Yes, how, please? Thank you.

Firewall allows Internet access to WMP and Overdrive Media.

lydiaOLAGUE, I found the following on one of the forums, it has worked for me twice

I had the same problem - could not get the upgrade of security WMP needed to work with OverDrive. I found the solution: era: http://blog.jongallant.com/2012/11/windows-media-player-overdrive-error.html

Essentially, you must disable the Safe_mode of IE10 (Tools-> Internet Options-> Security-> uncheck turn on Protected Mode). You receive a warning, but ignore it. Return to upgrade security, page and try again (http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp).

  • Windows media player security update

I can't upgrade to the windows media player security upgrade for my overdrive media player. I go to tools and hit the upgrade of security and nothing happens. Went to the online version to be upgraded and I do not see anything to upgrade for windows 8 (which I hate!) All of the suggestions. I want to download my audio book. I can download MP3 format, but not WMA. Any help would be grateful!

I had the same experience in trying to follow the steps of the OverDrive.

I managed to get the upgrade by following the steps in this document.  Step 1 has a protected DRM file that you can play using Windows Media Player.  If missing the upgrade, since the upgrade button was grayed out on the site, you will receive a pop-up window to upgrade the DRM.  This should be the upgrade which does not work on the site.  Just make sure to play using Windows Media Player as my default player has been set up for a different program and it does not work.

    Let me know what happens.

  • A Blue Ray disc with a digital copy of the film sends me to a page to update Media Player security, but the button updated it does not work

I bought a 3-disc Blu - ray Star Trek film set.  The 3rd disc is a DVD-ROM with a digital copy of the film, for transfer to a PC.  When I try the transfer, there is a message saying update Windows Media Player to my system with the functions of security necessary to play protected content.  Then a link in the transfer of Star Trek dialog box sends me to http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp where there is a button to upgrade.  But it is faded, as when a disabled function is grayed out...  If clicked, the button will not activate.  What should do?

I ran Windows Update and updates was not available in Media Player.  I have Windows 7 Starter on a netbook Gateway

1/2 hour later, well, what do you know?  After many attempts and refresh in Internet Explorer, the upgrade button finally loaded and worked.  Problem solved.  Transferred film and plays very well.

  • Satellite U205-S5002: cannot retrieve the Express Media Player after upgrading the HARD drive

So I bought just a new Toshiba Satellite U205-S5002 I love it. One of the great features that interest me was the Express Media Player feature.

My first step was to upgrade the hard disk and 160 GB and 2 GB ram.
I placed the disk and ram in my old laptop and sold it.

Before that I did, I made a copy ghosts and ghost of the hard drive to the new drive. Well come to find out...

Toshiba is not provided with this software preinstalled, so I followed the instructions to burn my recovery disk Express Media Player and the boot on the new disk.
So this is where the saga begins...

After 15-20 seconds, I get a soothing blue screen (NOT of blue BSOD you mind) who says:

    /!\
An error occurred during the recovery of "Express Media Player".
    -------------------------------------------------------
Please pick up the image again from the beginning.
    Press any key to exit.

It is typed exactly as it is on the screen. So, I see some other forums saying: you must have the free space of the disk so I resize the partition that allows 200 MB of space. Always the same... then try 2 GB even... then the 50 GB, same problem...

OK, so obviously not a question of space. I read while I might need to erase the drive... so I delete the partition, this same error... then I run the recovery disk and tell him to wipe the drive, wait 1 1/2 hour, it ends. No dice! So I decide... ok... Well lets try another disk... I have restored my ghost image... and burned the image again... same question... so I decide to the recovery disk and I'll try to reinstall windows in the factory and make a record...

Well, it does not work as well as you think... the image is incomplete... windows works fine... but the c:\Toshiba\ExpressMediaPlayer folder is empty!

I'm happy that I have ghosts my original directory. But I decide allows to Express Media Player a shot more now that I have restored to factory... always the same error... I then decide a trial more... I'll erase drive 1.5 hours, I'll restore from toshiba dvd provided but leaving plenty of space at the end 2 GB (I have a lot about people who tell you to base just around 200 MB)

5 hours later... moment of truth... Well Yes you guessed it... I don't know anything else to try... I have a bad image?
You need one that I can download what has worked for them for sure? Or have - I have completely found myself by replacing the HDD with after market and which is originally a kind of compatibility issue?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello

    It s a great story!
I put t know how to start so maybe first some info on the Express media player.

As you said, and has already proposed the Express media player has been preinstalled on the second partition.
If you want to install this media Express on the HARD disk drive, 150-200 MB of free space must be available. This free space must be on the end of the HARD drive and there must be unallocated.
To get these free space on the HARD disk, 3 third-party products should be used as for example the Partitions Magic 8!

I'm not going to write a story how to recover the Express media player because Toshiba has already created useful documents, which described complete installation!
I found these documents in the knowledge base of computer Toshiba:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/generic_content.jsp?service=EU&ID=TIC2

  • DRM component problem, can't update Windows Media Player security

I try to use my OverDrive and I have this same problem of 'a problem has occurred in the DRM component. Contact microsoft support"with the button unclickable on the link I see that many others have had. I looked at previous answers for them and I have renamed my DRM folder to DRMbackup, changed my proxy on Windows media player settings, troubleshooted the patch use windows media he asked (including reinstall them WMP), cleared my cookies in IE and firefox, and the update button is unclickable. I've also been running IE as an administrator. This is ridiculous. I just click the button to update my DRM and get on with it (I'm not worried about the previously protected songs) what else can I try not to mention that from another computer? I've been troubleshooting for more than 3 hours!

I had the same frustration. Finally resolved with instructions to: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976590.
