No. phones smart blackBerry such a thing as a stupid question?

I'm new to the BB 9700 and testing on the internet browser and I couldn't figure out how to get the 'mouse' (pointer) to the scroll bar on the right or bottom.  I have scrolling with the trackpad on the web page itself, but could not get to the right or down with the scroll bars.  How do you get it here?

I noticed that the trackpad took me down, but I can't remember if it happened to the right of the steps.  I'll have to check again.  Thank you.

  • Phone smart blackBerry Smartphones first and I am confused - loads of questions

So, I am trying to get a handle on this new Blackberry.  I'm upgrading to a Motorola RAZR v3 and the learning curve is steeper than I expected.

I bought unlocked on amazon.com and slipped my service from T-Mobile Prepaid SIM inside (no data plan).  I managed to get my contacts in there (not perfectly, but they are there).  I figured out how phone and text (yay).

After a few questions, I finally convinced my router it was OK for the Blackberry to connect. I understood that I must use the Hotspot browser for surfing the net via my wifi connection and successfully, went to gmail and my personal site.

First question: how zoom a page?

Second, I think I can surf very well, but when I check the status, Wifi is not checked, it has a dashboard.  I'm sure he had a tick when I first put in place last night.  What is the dashboard and how to fix this?

Where is my real problem is set up email - when I go to the configuration of email, I only get the choice of "corporate email.  It is not useful

I need to know better what are the limits of the Unit regarding internet access - I thought I could use it as my Ipod Touch, which of course has * only * wifi.  I've set up email on this subject, no problem.  I have read in various places that it does not require a data plan for electronic mail, in other places, it takes a data plan to "use the wifi.  Well, what for, since I can surf the net fine?

Could also use some advice on how to get additional applications, and if they will work through the connection of the phone, wifi, both or none.

Oh!  And one of the reasons I bought this particular phone are that it supports UMA - this is supposed to go to the WiFi during a call, if the cell is too low.  My cell in my house link of sucks (even with an extension of the cell).  It is, on a device with no data plan, but a strong WiFi, that function will work?

Sorry for so many questions, hope that y ' All can help me!

Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

All (or almost) your questions can be answered in one sentence.

You need the BlackBerry data Plan on your account. It will not work on a prepaid account. As simple as that.

With THE BlackBerry data Plan email browser set, full employment, UMA WiFi calling AND it's cute little check mark by the installation of WiFi.

Wait - what about applications?  Apps will not work with Wifi either? Why not?  Make my Ipod Touch apps...

I spend $100 per YEAR for access to the phone.  TMobile wants me to pay $40 a month for a blackberry data plan.  Phooey.

With the older OS levels (which, being a product of end of LIFE, is that your 9520 can have all), in fact there was a restriction on the native browser requiring the purchase of a package of sufficient data to be able to use the browser, even via WiFi. It's just the way it was. With new levels of OS (only available, naturally, for the most recent non - EOL products), this restriction has been removed, and the browser can be used with the WiFi only and no associated data plan. I wish it was different... but it's not.

BlackBerry devices in fact are very complicated... they have not really made for the occasional user who depended on things to be simple and easy. And this is especially true for older models of devices, as yours is. Unfortunately, being a former and device at the end of LIFE, there is no level of available most recent OS and therefore, none of the latest easy to use features are available for this model.

I wish that the situation was better for you, but unfortunately it isn't and is a consequence of choosing such an old and device for end of LIFE.

    Good luck!

  • Phones smart blackBerry Torch 9800 problems of advice?

    I have a Blackberry Torch 9800. There is something wrong with it and it's not just one thing. For example;

When I click on App World I get a popup saying cela "to continue using Blackberry App World, you need to upgrade your current version. For more information, visit www.blackberry.com/appworld/support. "I have two options after that. 'Upgrade' or 'close '. Sure of 'Close' to close the message and does nothing. 'Upgrade' does nothing either, when you click on it... nothing... no Web site don't transfer anything. It is a big problem because I can not update my current applications or download new. My really outdated phones... and the App World isn't the only app that does not work properly. There are a couple of other apps that don't work properly either. How should I do to correct these problems the right way? A full system scan?

Thanks for your time and your support.

Try to reload your operating system. This reload BlackBerry World as well as the rest of your phone. To do this, connect your phone to your PC and open BlackBerry Desktop Software. Once your phone has been recognized, click device at the top of the software, and then click on restore. Choose the most recent restore point and the load. That should solve your problem.

  • Phone smart BlackBerry Smartphones had a problem connecting to the server - 8520 new message

No emails received from a few days ago. I tried to configure the wizard's original e-mail accounts and got the message appears on the header of the message. Have you tried restarting pop battery without success. Also, during another attempt to implement email message "your connection to the mobile network is turned on, but you are not in a wireless coverage area. came. Subsequent attempts gave me the message "device had a problem..." ». Checked my wireless connections and everything is nice and connected. Messenger of Blackberry etc. everything works fine. Phone worked fine until a few days - ideas please.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your BIS configuration for these accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

    Good luck!

There are two methods for recovering for you to try:

    One:

    • Open Blackberry Desktop Software & connect your device with the PC using the USB cable, without inserting the battery.
    • You have three Retry option, update or cancel, and then click Update.
    • Once it is at the stage of the "initialization of pocket" update, then insert the batteries.
    • If this does not work, and you get stuck on the safeguarding of social data feeds, go to the second method below.

    Second:

    • Start your BlackBerry in safe mode.  Article ID: KB17877 how to start a mode BlackBerry smartphone without failurehttp://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB17877
    • Connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Software and allow handheld to connect. If you are prompted to update, cancel the upgrade for later.
    • IF you can not connect or your desktop software does not recognize your device in Mode safe, please follow the instructions here to force detection: Article ID: KB10144 how to force detect the BlackBerry smartphone using the Application Loader
    • Go to device > delete > SELECT DATA > select this option to remove the Social flow and smart card data bases and follow the rest invites you to complete.
    • Now, you can go back and click to update the device through the Desktop Manager, or restart the BlackBerry in normal mode and continue on the upgrade of the air.
  • I go down to 4.6 I have so I can't go 5 phones smart blackBerry Os install

Hey look I had installed on my Curve OS 5 but as the Descktop Blackberry software gives you the ability to downgradar Os 4.6 I decided and I wanted to try the downgrade and install the OS 4.6, after trying the 4.6 I will return to try to go back and go back to Os 5.0 but O SURPRISE! AND DON'T LET ME NOT ME SAYING THAT I MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SUBSCRIPTION. don't understand why they put this kind of locks is unnecessary because reistalado had several times before 5 so that I have already downloaded on my pc in the cache, it is to say Desktop software is more returned to download files that are already uploaded, I need a solution to reinstall the latest firmware or an active subscription or if you spend this kind of thing happened to notice that it seems incredible help on the use of the tools to upgrade in other brands never seen anything as such put option if you can go after the Sunrise reinstall the latest version, if you pass this then you better delete the possibility of returning to the point of putting this kind of update, the locks are absurd... help!

Friends for everyone with this problem I have the solution to reinstall the OS of the Blacdkberry 5 Desktop Software you used, so if it is possible to work around the active subscription, I will explain the procedure to obtain

At first look we are in this situation insalado an earlier version

If we try to install the latest version 5 OS, we cannot we get the message that we said that we must have an active subscription and therefore can not, I will say that this lock and install the latest version.

I did delete the vendor.xml file (this is the file that identifies the wearer of the device, making it recognized or not the operating system. The truth is I don't know if delete this file is the installation of Os 5 key but at the time I made it I had deleted this file

one) Windows Vista and 7: C drive-)-Program Files) common files-) Research In Motion-) App Loader

((b) Windows XP: C drive-)-Program Files) common files-) Research In Motion-) App Loader

After what we need to do is get out of our BB battery and remove the SIM card after putting back against the battery but don't turn on the BB, ten conent the BB to the PC, you need already open the BB Desktop Software then the screen will display the message and what we need to do is give update.

and we'll have another message and we will instantly repair

Then, we will get the following message, indicating that there is a newer version of the operating system

And we expect eye to get the upgrade until here, I was already thinking, they had gotten, but I came back to prove that there is no active subscriptions again and that I had to repeat the procedure and the time segunad turned to connect the BB disable and Donna update and repair then it seemed to me is more the subscription active and installed version 5 Os.

That's all I've done is the solution to jump the padlocks of active subscription, hope they serve you share them because I saw a lot of people have this problem and well I fought it a bit to make the tutorial but I hope they serve and let her BB 100. Greetings!

  • Is phones smart blackBerry Torch 9810 features & interactivity. need bb e-mail explained, please.

so far, I see no problem with the phone... as far as I know.

    I have AT & T w/modem.

If I have my settings correctly, my phone automatically uses wifi to access internet if available... it seems that doing. WiFi reception seems weak, but I have no experience to compare it to.

I am impressed with the desktop software, I managed an OS update immediately and took the apps I could remove. I can't go to the (captive) internet with software of bb, but only with the software, at & t, I guess it's normal.

I was very confused through the configuration, what with ID and records and books of service... looks like it's prolly good things for those who are in need of everything, but I want only the phone, internet, SMS & email. How many of these other things bb I must have on board?

I do not wish to use bb messaging, it must stay active? and if it must stay, he does exactly if I never use the services?

BBM, BlackBerry Messenger is only active and uses data if you have contacts who are messaging you.  If you establish contacts from whom you receive messages, you don't have to worry about this.  (She can use a VERY small amount of data, but this amount would be negligible).  In fact, if you want out of your life, of your home screen select the BBM icon with your cursor, press the menu key and select hide.  This will hide the icon if you don't see it.  BBM is a basic application, you cannot remove it, but if hide you and you invite someone to your contact list, you'll be fine.

    I hope that helps you.

  • What is this message - phones smart blackBerry how to stop it?

I got my Blackberry Storm set up with a BES account.  I used a paid subscription to an Exchange account.  I decided to switch to a BIS account.  I did a full cleaning of the my storm and then set it all up again.  I have my own set up through Google Apps domain name.  My email account is a Google IMAP account using my domain.  Since switching to the BIS account, I get the following message is displayed:

Sorry, my bad.  There are three things to do in this case then.  First, remove the battery on your phone to reboot the phone and reset the connection to the server.  Second, if who does nothing, please log into your BIS account and resend the service books.  Finally, if none of this helps, call service provider's BlackBerry number.  Chances are that update the service books should help if.

  • How to control the phone smart BlackBerry remotely

    Hi all

I'm new to this forum. I have a small question, I am developing an applicatoin small remote control for blackberry devices (4.3 and above). The idea is that is a connection from a pc to a blackberry and then pc controls the BlackBerry by sending control commands to it. This is possible by moving the mouse or the arrow keys to control the selection of icons for blackberry or pressing the alphanumeric keys on the keyboard to the pc control text appearing on the blackberry device (if say, a Notepad application has been opened)

Do you know the guys from the API calls to reproduce the keypress or trackball movement?

Any USEFUL help is appreciated :-)

    Thank you

    Dan

    Welcome to the boards.

You can use the eventinjector API to do things like that.

the connection must be initiated by the device as a BB does not have a public IP (most of the time).

We have developed a solution like this, see

  • BB unlocking phones smart blackBerry 8800 locked with AT & T

How to unlock bb8800 to use any gsm sim card. It is currently locked with AT & T

    Hello!

Any BB can be used on any carrier that is running the same radio frequencies that the BB is capable of (and I have no idea if your in are such... you should check). But, to bring you a BB on a carrier network that they don't sell, there are several obstacles to overcome:

    (1) the carrier must say 'yes' to the fact... they are owners of their network and have every right to say what devices will be allowed to connect to it. If they say 'no', then it's the end of it.

    (2) you must be sure that your BB is properly unlocked since its origin manufactured for carrier... see this thread useful for more details:

    (3) you must get all of your voices works on the carrier, before you even try anything on data level services

    (4) you must be a subscriber of the carrier, a plan of sufficient data to enable BB exclusive services that you wish to

5 (a) if the carrier directly supports your specific model BB, then you can proceed to the registration of the BB on their network, generating adequate for your BB service book delivery and treatment of the function.

5 (b) but, if the carrier does not directly your BB-specific model number, then the challenges are much more that most of the carrier's systems will deliver, for BB, the service books required to enable BB exclusive data services, even if you have subscribed to them.

So, based on this, your BB may or may not ever any function on this carrier network. It can be quite difficult to achieve, especially if 5 b applies. Then take a look at this and decide how you want to move forward. Most people end up just buying a new BB if 5b applies.

Good luck and let us know!

  • Some questions before buying phones smart blackBerry...

Thinking about buying the Blackberry Curve from Verizon Wireless, I had a few questions that I hope that the community could answer. I am currently using the Moto Q on WM5.

    1. any problem passage of a WM5 to Blackberry OS device with respect to synchronization of all my data? I use Outlook 2007 with business contact for any Manager.

    2. I know that most of the software I have acquired for my Q will be port any more, but what, all data such as spreadsheets, databases or word documents that I saved on my card?

    3. which brings me to my next question. I have to reformat the data card, I use now or do I have to buy a new one? I currently use a Sandisk micro with mini adapter.

    4. do the curve, unlike the Moto Q, backs up everything like the old Palm Pilots do you have? With the Q I had to buy the backup software to back up everything that did not get synchronized with the center of Vista Mobile Sync.

Thanks in advance for your help and I hope that making it an easy decision to make.

    1. I don't expect you will encounter problems of synchronization of your contact information as you use Outlook. When I bought my curve first I have problems somewhat in sync with Outlook settings, but was fairly simple to manage after. Everything that was in my outlook saved very well on my blackberry.

    2. you can view most of the documents on your curve even if I have not tried to view a .docx (word 2007 version) file. PDF files appear a bit blurry on my device. One downside is that you will not be able to edit these documents, unless you buy a third-party software to do this. If you can with a software purchase, I still have to discover this solution.

    3. your micro SD card should be fine. I have not had any problems using my that was in your windows mobile. All my pictures and music adapted very well.

    4. the software necessary to backup and synchronize all came with my curve and would see no reason why it would not be included with your purchase. So different from the back-up is similar to the Palm of the hands.

I hope that adequately responding to your questions. I can tell you that on the whole I really like my blackberry.
