  Try to locate your data from outlook express:

  Click on start-> Run & paste-> %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities

  You will see the folders as {xxxxxx-xxxx-xxx-xx-xxxxxxxxxxxx} click-> Microsoft-> Outlook Express, you should be able to locate the DBX files, these are the outlook database files. Ideally, you should see inbox.dbx, Sent Items.dbx... check the size of the file.

  Now to get it back on outlook express, open outlook express-> click on tools-> Options-> maintenance-> the storage location.

  Click on change location, and then select the location that you have your data in.

  For the address book, see: click Start-> Run and paste the following:

  %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book

  Address book with wab extension, these should reflect your Outlook Express user name.

• No there is no way for me to create a set of media to recover for 8.1 if I did one for 8.0 previously?

  I have "created a set of recovery media" for my laptop when I had only had it a few days and it's Windows 8.0.

  Well, a few days later I was asked to move to 8.1, which I did, and it looks like I'm stuck with the support of 8.0 recovery.  It says "recovery media was created on 22-12-2013."  You are only allowed to create a set of recovery media.

  If I had been aware that I was going to be offered to update to 8.1 would take place off the coast, but now it looks like I'm stuck with the old recovery media.

  Is there any way around this?  In the case of a recovery, I really don't have to recover to 8.0, and then restart the upgrade to 8.1.

• Need to recover as factory set

  Hello, I have a model HP G61 - 420 a laptop [under the direction of privacy] serial, which I wish to put to it was when I bought it in order to give my little girl as a gift. The machine is supplied with W7 and I upgraded to W8.1.

  I understand that the computer cannot be reduced to W7.

  I tried the recovery in W8.1 Manager but when I'm invited to load the recovery disks, nothing happens.

  The disks are labeled for W7 system recovery DVD.

  I don't know what to do. My D drive only shows the system volume information.

  I tried deleting everything manually, but there are still personal stuff that I can't remove.

  Can someone help me with this real quick?

  This case is now closed

  I was able to recover the original system as follows

  I inserted the first disc of 2 in the dvd player

  then I shut down the computer and when I rebooted I hit the esc key until a new screen came that gave me the option to start the dvd system and the process started automatically and I have my original computer for W7 restar it is purchased.
