No sound from Port Replicator NetDock after installing XP on Tecra 8200

After a recent accident, I re-installed my 8200 using XP SP2. Now I have no sound from the Netdock. All other functions of the DS seem to be OK.
I downloaded the latest drivers Yamaha for XP SP2, but still no sound.

I get no option to change analog output on the control panel of Yamaha. Device Manager lists system Yamaha DS + XG Legacy Sound (WDM) and Yamaha DS - XG PCI Audio Codec (WDM) as well as other codecs, gane and multimedia control device port.

I want to get her back through the Netdock.

Thank you

Pete

Hello Pete

One of my friends has a Tecra 8200 running Windows XP Home edition, but SP1and everything works correctly. I really don' t understand why the its doesn't work.

Sorry, but this unit is not supported for Windows XP Home edition, and it is not easy to say why the Board its doesn't work properly. If all goes well, another forum user has more experience.

Good luck!

    Hello

    first of all the best way to reinstall the system is to use the recovery disc. Begin just with him, follow the display and the machine will be automatically set back to the default settings.

    If you want to do the installation yourself, that it's almost like on desktop computers.
    Boot from the Windows CD and install the OS.

  • Installing OS on Tecra 8200

    Hello world

    I really appreciate the help with installing OS on HD on Tecra 8200. The original HD crashed so I bought replacement HD to an add-in in the local newspaper. This disk should be formatted but otherwise empty. After I drag the drive into the Bay and put the power, "GRUB loading stage 1.5" appears on the screen and then any time the word "UBUNTU" and then a long message beginning with: "cannot start X server...". "etc. (probably something to do with Unix).

    My Tecra has no floppy drive, just DVD player and I can't find a way to make the machine begins to read the Windows 2000 installation CD in the DVD player (or perhaps the HD should be reformatted first but where to start?).

    Thanks a lot for any help or suggestion.

  • No sound from my computer. I installed the drivers. in the audio preferences, it says "no audio device".

    I have three sound devices: my soundblaster PCI motherboard built in audio (realtek HD audio), and my graphics Nvidia card (via HDMI).

    I installed the drivers for the soundblaster and graphics card. I tried allowing both at the time and only one at a time. not appear as selectable "audio devices" in the audio preferences, but they appear under the "hardware" tab when I activated, I did it has been set to use the mixer for the device.

    When I had to install the realtek driver, the sound test in the driver software would play the sound. but he would not always recognize all audio devices.

    Probably missing me something simple.

    Hello

    I suggest you to uninstall all the audio drivers from the computer.
    a. click Start , and then click RUN.
    b. in the RUN line, type devmgmt.msc , and then on enter.
    c. This will open the Device Manager window.
    d. Browse sound, video and game controllers.
    e. right click on each of the drivers see you, and then click Uninstall.
    f. you may asked to delete the driver completely. Please, put a checkmark and complete uninstallation.
    g. restart the computer so that the changes are applied.
    After the reboot, I suggest you to download the audio drivers from the computer manufacturer's website and install the same.
    Restart the computer and then install the drivers for other audio devices
    It will be useful.
  • No sound on Satellite L40-139 after installing XP

    Hello

    I'm trying to help a friend with his laptop computer Toshiba L40-139. It has recently (well his brother did) re-installed XP and independently to get the wireless to work, (which has now been fixed), I'll have a puzzle as to why there is no sound at all.

    He used to work in the past (before reinstalling).
    In the section "Sounds and devices" in the Panel under the volume it is said that there is "No audio device", and everything is grey. All under the "Audio" tab is also grayed out.

    I've been Googling for more than 6 hours to try to find a solution and have read a lot of threads in this section but still can not understand. I tried to find the drivers for Intel 82801GBM ICH7-M - High Definition Audio Controller everywhere, but I think I just everytime it does not work.
    I paste the Everest report below in order to give you more details on the machine.

    There is no CD with the machine he thinks he has lost them when he was moving house.
    If anyone can give me some advice on how to solve this problem, I would be grateful.

    Hi guys

    A little advice;
    You must use the option search advanced search all first issues and similar topics.
    I remember that this subject has been discussed a lot of time here and it s just a matter of research to find a solution ;)

    The solution is easy;
    Win XP needs additional MS patches; * KB835221 & KB888111 *.

    These hotfixes must be installed first before installing driver sound!

    Afret resettlement of Digital Editions, deleted all files PDF, managed to remove all instances of digital editions and "return item" - ignored the fact that it gave me error E_BAD_LOAN_ID. Revint Open Library, and the book shown always as it has already borrowed. Tried to download in different formats, and fortunately open Libriry detected that it was borrowed for me, but that I had a problem opening it. • BSOD after installing SP2 on Tecra A2

    Hola,

    A friend gave me his Toshiba Tecra A2 (489 MB RAM, 1.75 GHz, 40 GB HD, XP Pro SP1), who suffered the usual problems of the system of middle ages - in phase terminale-slow-off operation, the caused by badly clogged registry etc... I made sure that I wouldn't break it, or at least would do no worse, and that it would be better to take it to a store tech for them to watch, £30.

    Then I did the stuff standard, following which worked well.

    * Disc cleanup (from C:\ [Properties])
    * msconfig to remove unnecessary startup programs
    * Full scan disk
    * full defrag
    * hung in line to run liveupdate from Norton AV
    * ran a standard register, basic cleaning program
    * all online ran several passes of windows update, with several restarts without error.

    -----

    He then took all afternoon install SP2 and restart, he went through the usual XP style blue splash screens, I expected post-SP installation, i.e. "Please wait...". »

    seemed to crash, reboot, and then displays the blue screen of death and this message:

    -----

    STOP: c000021a {fatal system error}
    The process of the system session manager initialization ended unexpectedly with status 0x000026c. (0x00000000 0 x 0000000).
    The system has been shut down

    ------

    Since I tried all other boot options (safe mode, last known good setting, etc.) without success.

    Any ideas on how to recover? I would be grateful. At the very least, I need to retrieve files from the HD before making a recovery facility.

    your

    First: with such errors you should first ask google or microsoft because it s knowledge base not a toshiba associated problem.
    And regarding your problem: you are absolutely not able to enter the system?

    You can recover the files by putting HARD drive into a USB box and copy the contents to another diskk or you use 'UBCD4Win' and copy the files from the HDD to another USB - HDD.

    Otherwise, you'll have some nice for study time because it can be ANYTHING!

  • Re: Tecra A10 - USB problem on the port replicator

    I have a Tecra A10 and sometimes, when I work with her, the devices USB stopped responding if they are connected to the port replicator.
    If I connect them to the laptop, they work fine.

    I tried to update the BIOS but now when I turn on the laptop it freezes when Toshiba red letters are displayed on the screen. I can work with the laptop properly deattached starting from port replicator.

    Have you tried to load the default settings in the BIOS after the update?

    If you have external devices connected to the laptop they remove and try again in the duplicator.
    Maybe you should also update your laptop chip set driver. You can find them on the Toshiba site.

  • Problems with the port replicator USB 2.0 after installing Windows XP - SP2

    Hello world

    I have a Satellite M30 742 with MS-Windows XP Professional installed. I plugged most of my external devices to him through a port replicator Toshiba USB 2.0. Everything seems to work fine until I installed Service Pack 2.

    Therefore, starting my laptop computer is an adventure to recognize random port replicator: usually four USB ports are recognized, but the ports series and parallel, keyboard and mouse ports are ignored, with a message "unknown USB device".

    Uninstalling and reinstalling, them or their drivers are a vain effort, since Windows keep ignoring them.

    However, in other occasions, they are recognized without problems (even if windows insist on installing their drivers each time that it finds, even if I have already installed a large number of times).

    Please, you have an idea to solve this problem * boring * problem?

    Thank you very much in advance,
    Ricardo.

    Hello

    what you might try is to reinstall the chipset driver because I think that the USB is connected to the chipset.

    In my opinion the Windows upgrade had changed the pilot USB from Toshiba a MS a. So the Port Replicator is not recognized all the time.
