No sound! HP slimline s5000 series

Hey, I've always had speakers welcoming my desktop PC so I never noticed a problem. I had my PC just over a year:

Yesterday my speakers broke and I realized my real PC has no sound of its own.

My PC seems to know sound occurs (illustrated by him read the pictches volume on the volume icon at the bottom level), and the digital output Realtek said it works correctly, and still I get no sound at all.

I haven't played around with the settings, so it is always put on the default settings, which I assume must have worked.

If I need to provide more information/screenshots please tell. Thanks for your help.

You are the very welcome.

Yes, you were in the right place to look, but while the on-board audio setting seems to be the logical choice, is not the setting you need.

If it does not turn a PC speaker setting, then your PC doesn't have an internal speaker.

PC cannot transmit audio Realtek audio chip to the output device (speaker), because it is not a speaker to the audio output.

The on-board audio setting refers to control of the Realtek audio chip on board.

If you install an add on sound card, you would very probably disable the onboard audio setting.

It would be no different if you have a car stereo and speakers.

The audio output of the radio works fine, but without speakers, it is useless.

If you have headphones with the same size socket, plug into the clear green audio out port, and you will hear.

See you soon,.

  • Pavilion Slimline s5700 Series: is it possible to add an SSD?

I have a s5770t on the way and I was wondering if it would be possible to add a form factor 2.5 "SSD system (i.e., having both the SSD and the original hard drive)?

I looked on this issue online support documentation, but only came to how to replace the hard drive, not if it is possible to add a second.

Looking how to replace a drive hard slimline here, it seems that thought it might be just enough space in the drive cage to do by moving the original hard drive upward and the installation of the SSD below... looks like there's even a slot at the bottom of the cage for this purpose.

Here are the pictures that I have from the referenced link above that make wonder if it's possible:

Thanks for any help that you could provide!

    -Darrell

At the reception of the computer, I opened it and out of the cage to the hard drive and found there was a little more than 1 cm of headroom above the main hard drive:

.. just enough room to fit in my 9.5 mm thick Intel SSD:

    I ran into two questions:

    (1) I am able to mount the SSD with only one screw. Although the use of this computer is as a home theater PC and will not be moved, a screw is minimal sufficient.

    2) there are only two power supply (one for the HD) SATA cables and one for the DVD player, which required me to buy a splitter cable SATA power, similar to the image below:

  • Wireless for HP Pavilion Slimline s5150t series

I recently bought a HP Pavilion Slimline s5150t and have the card network integrated.

What are my options for adding wireless?

I see that the option is available when you create a new computer online.

The simplest solution would be a USB wireless card. Otherwise, a low-profile PCI Wireless card would work internally.

  • No sound on Satellite a series after power failure

I have tried the drivers but not find.

    Any help please

    Is what model? PSA? -??????

The audio chip may have been damaged due to advanced/power surge, requiring a motherboard replacement.

Search for C:\TOSAPINS audio driver or download the driver here http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

You can also try a fresh install of windows. back up your data and run recovery now zero for the market. If the audio still does not work, then its most likely a hardware problem.

Also update the BIOS, but I doubt that would help.

    Hello, Paul

Thank you for your very warm and understanding response!

Here is the link for the memory upgrade info you need for your PC.

I would get the PC2-5300 (667 MHz) for optimal performance.

Here is the link to the guide of upgrade and maintenance for the Slimline 3000 series. If all goes well, that will contain the information that you need to access the memory locations.

  • HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1200z improvement of power supply

    Hello

I need to replace a power supply broken for the HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1200z Office I bought in June 2012. As I improved the memory of 8 GB 3 months ago, I would like to take this opportunity to improve to 400w 300w 220w power, if possible.

Unfortunately, I can't find any power supply suitable for the Pavilion Slimline s5 series, in-store or online. The only one I can find is the replacement of the part #633195-001 of HP on HP website. Any recommendations?

It is sold on eBay, and says it's an upgrade of 330w PSU for your model:

  • HP Pavilion P6 - 2220t: distortion of sound when using Vinly to CD software

Used Audacity and Golden Records Vinyl to CD software while using Numark Platinum vinyl and Uphono devices. Sound of the devices was good through headphones, while listening to that recording has been distorted and unpleasant. Audacity has worked with the previous desktop, but not this one. In addition, registration counters were bolted on two software. Not sure if it's a sound card, or a series of bad luck with the devices and P6. Never had a problem with Numark Platinum the previous desktop, but faced this distortion on the P6 - 2220t. Also noted the audacity meter monitoring does not always work on this desktop computer.

I don't think that it is a problem of HP hardware.  I suggest contacting the customer to the software publisher to see if they can help you.  They know the best software.  It could be that there is an incompatibility which they can identify.
