No sound on my Satellite Pro L20

WHY IS THERE NO SOUND? CANNOT READ ALL DOWNLOADS, YOU PRESS THE ESC KEY, CERTAINLY NOT ON MUTE, BUT NO SOUND, ANY IDEAS?

Hello

Have you checked the volume control and the portable computer side?
Please check because for most this is the reason for the no sound on laptop computers.

If you have checked and you won't hear anything then I recommend to check the settings in the sounds and audio devices you can find in the control panel.

  • Satellite Pro L20 - Windows 7 - no sound

    Hi ppl

Anyone know if there is a driver for windows 7? or I have to go back to Vista... shame 7 looks pretty good

    Thanks for your comments

    > Does anyone know if there is a driver for windows 7
In my opinion you have Win 7 drivers on the Toshiba page for this oldie.
I found a FAQ from Toshiba on Win 7 support and Pro L20 is not there.

You should check your sound chip and do research on some pages of part 3 of the right driver Win 7

  • Satellite Pro L20 goes wrong with i.f. audio Fast Track USB

    Hello!

I used my Fast Track USB on new Toshiba Satellite L40 and I never had any problems with it. I could put a low latency and I did a few songs with him.

Yesterday, I bought another laptop, thinking of recording studio at home. He used the Toshiba Satellite Pro L20. It does not work with my interface. When I listen to music on Winamp or anything on Fruity Loops, I hear strong clicks, pop, noise. They introduce samples, or they appear during playback, or after a sample is stopped.

I noticed, drivers for Satellite Pro L20 are a problem. Its not supported by Toshiba more? The only chipset drivers are old, and you can download em only from site Web from Toshiba. The chipset is ATI Xpress 200 M. Its pilots are with the graphics card. Recently I noticed that you can download "ATI Catalyst Legacy Display Driver for Windows XP - card mother/IGP Drivers 9.11" and CRACK to make it possible to install on a mobile device like the L20. Yep it's funny, but its impossible to do otherwise!

things that I have tried and they have still not help:
replacement of drivers #, original were released in 2004. I installed the version.
driver settings #, low latency, high latency
    # asio and different settings
pluging # USB interface to another.
    # try what happens when I use the battery and when to use the adapter
    # update BIOS
    # off units such as wifi, card sound card on board
    # checked IRQ list

persistent organic pollutants will always appear.

    my config:

    Toshiba Satellite Pro L20
    Win XP Home SP3
    Celeron M 1, 5 GHz
    896 MB of ram
M - Audio Fast Track USB, drivers: 6.0.2

    Kind regards

Initially, I wonder that you use old notebook L20 now. You have no more L40?

You must understand that the Satellite Pro L20 is older model laptop and also not the best choice for such operations. This laptop is probably designed for simpler day-to-day operations such as the internet, e-mail, office, a little bit of multimedia and that s all the.

I don't mean good old classic doesn't work with your external device, but you will be lucky if someone has the same external device and the same model of laptop and write about their own experiences.

Do you use factory settings or you have installed the own operating system?

  • Beep on Satellite Pro L20

You just bought a new Satellite Pro L20 PSL25E-00K00CEN, less than 12 days old. He had these recurring short beep (1-2 sec), perhaps that every 20 minutes then maybe every hour. But no notification of what the beep wasn't on. Laptop works on current electric.

No external device connected or disconnected. None of the obvious reasons. Beeps occur if I'm working on the laptop or not.
Would be very grateful if anyone has similar problems and solutions?

I even turned off "sound and notification" of the Panel, but never stopped beeping!

    Hello

I don't know what could be the noise.
The fact is that the beep occurs during the computer laptop startup procedure. It is usually a beep code. But this should not appear in the operating system and if the unit is running.
However, this seems very strange. Your laptop is fairly new and the warranty is valid. You should ask the Toshiba service partner for review. Maybe he knows more about this strange event.

Please post again if you will get more information.

  • Satellite Pro L20: New need recovery CD

I bought a satellite pro L20 and lent it to a friend of mine borrow. When he returned the laptop it was full of viruses and had to be wiped.

    Hi Jonathan

  • Satellite Pro L20 - recovery utility hangs and does not complete

    Hello.

I've been running my L20 Pro Satellite for two years now, quite happy. Unfortunately, in the last 3 months, he began to misbehave. The startup time stretched to 5-10 minutes by that I mean time spent in "black" screen between the initials XP boot logo and the bright blue splash screen Windows. Playing sound/media crackled and stuttered badly through the loudspeaker. So, being reasonable technical, I've read various articles forum tried MSCONFIG tweaks here and there, removed all viruses etc... Nothing helps.

I began to suspect a HARD drive problem. CHKDSK has not shown any errors. I finally resolved to back up my data and attempt a complete recovery. (Virgin!)

Unfortunately, this is going to plan. medium 90% up to the end of the NVA Toshiba Recovery Utility 1.0.1.0 I think, started making subtle beeps and stopped on the 'X:\03596002 '. File of the GHS. The Green HARD-drive activity light has renounced his reassuring twinkling. Nothing.

Any suggestions tips out there? I am currently in the State where he can not start (no NTLDR found).

    Help.

    Thank you.

HDD on SP L20 interface is - Serial ATA Rev. 1. 0a.

For the replacement of Satellite Pro L20 HDD or upgrades, you can use follow hard drives:
    With 4200 RPM.
    Fujitsu MHV2060AT
    Fujitsu MHV2080AT
    Fujitsu MHV2100AT
    Toshiba MK6025GAS
    Toshiba MK8025GAS
    Toshiba MK1031GAS

    With 5400 RPM
    Fujitsu MHV2060AH
    Fujitsu MHV2080AH
    Fujitsu MHV2100AH
    Toshiba MK6026GAX
    Toshiba MK8026GAX
    Toshiba MK1032GAX

So, you can choose one of these hard disks for upgrade. If you now of 60 GB inside buy 100 GB for replacement.

  • Satellite Pro L20 - no audio output device installed

Hi, I would appreciate some help with my installation of 32 bit Vista on my Satellite Pro L20 series.

Installation went well but my sound icon has a cross with her and when I place the mouse over it I see the message: no audio output device installed. I went in full with privilagesand Device Manager there is an exclamation following audio controller appliances. I looked at the General properties and it says: "this device is not configured correctly (code 1). I uninstalled the driver and downloaded Realtek AC97-Ref: 6285_Vista_APO_PG536 driver installed and rebooted but I still got the same error messages!

Can someone help me? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling many times now, I don't know where to go next!

    Concerning
    Abidan

    Hello

As a boarder, said, if you have a Conexant sound card, you should look for a Conexant audio driver.
The Realtek driver will never work because that makes this different s.

Check other Toshiba laptops for the same card his Conexant. Maybe you can find a Conexant Vista driver.

  • Satellite Pro L20 - overheating of the power cable

    Hello

For several months, I had problems with the keys suddenly works intermittently. Although brushing under the keys with a toothbrush relieved the problem for awhile it obviously was not the main cause. Each time, so not attributable to each of the keys of damaged to different keys.

When unplugging the power cable from the metal part is very hot, and I worked on the problem of keys occurs only when the computer is running on a/c AND the battery is fully charged. In other words, no problem on the battery or recharging. The adapter is also hot, but guess that's 'normal '.

The power cable has been tested directly from another outlet and not ongoing execution of the usual belkin surge protector, external sources seem so plotted on. I tried to find another cable/adapter to test but living very rural location of doubt this will be possible or practical.

The fan seems to work OK, the air coming out of the side is very hot. It does not appear to be clogged with dust. Also, the area of the laptop above the fan heats up.

Sometimes the computer crashes on black or blue screen (on iplayer lately, maybe other progs too) but the noise continues. I turned off by pressing the button for 5 seconds, but he still works for a while. I guess from overheating. But not some of it is always on a/c-do not charge, it may be on a/c-charge as well.

Sometimes the computer seems confused if he is re-load, on a/c or battery. At least the icon switches and requires a session to unplug the device before doing things.

Other times it is the machine of Angel since last two years! It's a Satellite Pro L20, the adapter's clover LiteOn 65W, 19V 3. 42 a. part PA3396E-1ACA (what I see is no longer available).

Searched through but not found any similar problem, but hope someone can advise me what to do next!
    Thanks in advance

    Hello Robin

It doesn't sound good. According to the specifications of the laptop, you have the right AC adapter. In my opinion you should contact the partner of service authorized in your country. Make a call and I hope they can help you how to handle this issue.

It is also possible that they can send you new power adapter. Make a call and explain the situation. If you have need for addresses and phone numbers you can find under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads > find an ASP.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite Pro L20 - need keyboard driver

    Hello world

Just need help to find a keyboard driver Toshiba Satellite Pro L20, I re-installed windows as my hard drive crashed and as was a second hand laptop he didn t come with recovery disks.
I downloaded every other player wireless, screen, sound, touch pad batch but I really struggle to find a m keyboard driver.

My laptop at the moment alone will keyboard type with the weird key, others do not work at all I use a plug to the keyboard for the time being, not very mobile.
Any help would be appreciated most.

    Kind regards
    Dave

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read my problem.

Akuma is right. You should not install driver for keyboard functionality. Used keyboard driver Microsoft standard included in the operating system Windows XP Home/Vista edition.
So if some buttons do not work, there may be a problem with the keyboard itself and you need to replace.

  • Satellite Pro L20: Headphone port crackling noice at startup

    Hello

I'm a uniform crackling noise that I've isolated to the headphone jack (green) of my Satellite Pro L20, who is just coming (2 days) for his first birthday, running XP Pro SP2 with all updates installed and no apparent driver problem.

This noise occurs without any sound applications to startup and running, namely when you tilt the computer and Windows loads or when you get back to windows after hibernation. If I plug headphones in this port, of course, the sound is removed. All audio applications seems to work OK (for example Windows Sound, iTunes, Etc.) and so it's disconcerting.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

    Mikey UK.

    Hello

During the operating system boot process Windows uses a standard, stored audio file on the HARD drive.
This audio file can be disabled, or you can choose another.
This can be done in the control panel-> sound and audio devices-> Audio tab

Choose Start Windows box program of events and check if audio windows xp demarrage.wav the file plays without crackling noise.
If crackling noise appears then I assume that this file is corrupted.

You can also choose another file wav for this event or you can simply choose no and no sound will appear during the Windows startup process.

  • Driver LAN for Satellite Pro L20 Windows 2000

I am looking for a local network (ethernet) drive to my Satellite Pro L20, who has Windows 2000 on it.
I found one for WiFi, but not for the Ethernet (cable/CAT).

    Hello

Well, you can t find all the LAN for Win2000 drivers on the Toshiba page because this unit has been delivered and tested with the Windows Xp operating system.
However, I found the information that the appliance has a CL LAN Realtek 8100.
In this case, I guess for visit the site Web of Realtek. You can find a compatible driver for this network adapter.

  • What recovery CD to use with Satellite Pro L20?

We have several Toshiba laptops in use in our society. I need to restore a (a Satellite Pro L20) to factory settings. However, although I have kept all the recovery CD, most of them have labels which do not mention which model they are intended to be used on. On some of them I wrote the model number on the label by hand, but I did not do that for the L20. I know from experience that if I receive the wrong recovery CD, I have to put dozens of drivers and utilities individually, in order to find the right one would save me a lot of time and stress.

Each recovery CD has a number (for example GMR400626EN1), so it should be possible to identify the good CD of it, but I can't find the info on the Toshiba web site.

Is there a list that corresponds to the reference numbers for the models of laptop recovery CD?

    Hello

This info is certainly not available on the Toshiba support site. What you can try is to contact the partner of service authorized in your country. They have access to the database of Toshiba and I'm sure they can help you.

If you need addresses and phone numbers please check https://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com support & downloads search for an ASP.

    Bye and good luck!

  • The Satellite Pro L20 L25 the same case?

Fit cover laptop of Satellite Pro L20 to L25 Pro Satellite motherboard?

I can't say for sure, but I think so.
I guess L20 is European and WE must have a model L25.

There is no big difference in General.
What you should check are available ports. Make sure that both models have exact same ports and port openings.
