  • Presario F755US: Sound lost in laptop

I have a Presario F755US updated and running Windows 10. All worked satisfactorily until today where she doesn't have a function of sound at all and my webcam will not start.  On the taskbar, the icon of speakers said that the speakers are, but no sound. In the control panel in the Device Manager lists the sound input: Conexant high definition SmartAudio 231 as working properly. I also connected via a USB port, that a classified Logitech webcam works properly. However, during the launch it it no longer works.

I noticed three devices with the yellow triangle and exclamation sign missing drivers. They are: device Base system listed as function of device 5 PCI Bus 2 2; System device, listed as function of device 2 5 bus PCI 1 and coprocessor, function of device 0 1 bus PCI 3 base. All these devices have the status: the drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28), there is no compatible driver for the device, find a driver for this device, click Update driver.

I tried several times to update driver without success. Tried to find a driver on the HP website nothing helped.

Is there a place I can download missing drivers for this laptop?

I think that if I can find and install these drivers all my problems to access the sound and the webcam will be resolved. As well as any other problem lurking around who had yet to aparent.

Thank you for all your help, suggestions, and help.

Finally! What I did to go to the control panel - > Manager-> sound, video devices and controllers of game-> Conexant HD Smart Audio 221-> update driver. Then, I chose to look in my computer rather than the auto feature.

When he showed two pilots: Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 and a just another High Definition Audio chose the latter. He gave warning that it cannot be right that I rejected by clicking on install. He did it successfully. closes all windows and restarted the laptop. And here! the problem has been resolved the audio, sound, webcam and mike all work fine.

Thought you would like to know what I did to fix my problem.

Thanks again for all your help, help and suggestions.

  • HP Compaq Presario Media Center SR2020NX sound card driver

Had to re - install Windows XP (SP3) on a HP Compaq Presario Media Center SR2020NX, downloaded

Original Realtek High Definition Audio drivers of

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=228 & LC = on & CC = US & DLC = in & sw_lang = & Product = 32450...

and also download and install Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture High Definition Audio bus driver on the system according to the instructions

Yet the Original Realtek High Definition Audio drivers continues to say that UAA is not installed?

    What is the problem?

    Thank you

OK, I downloaded the AC97 audio codecs from realtek.com

So ran the KB835221.exe found in the popular thread Re: no sound after changing Vista to XP

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/desktop-PC-sound-and-audio/no-sound-after-changing-Vista-to-XP/m-p/27615#M295

Running the driver Realtek HD install IT SAYS STILL no UAA, but I clicked on Yes to continue, and this time around the RealTek HD Audio-install wizard kicked in and completed the transaction.

Kudoed, Cheryl G and also found it instructive.

  • Compaq Presario R3000 how to get the sound to work with Windows 7 RC

    (1) download SP29586.exe: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp29501-30000/sp29586.exe

    (2) execute, create a swsetup c:\ directory

    3) once all files are extracted DO NOT INSTALL

    (4) now Goto the Start Menu click on devices and printers, click the name that you called your machine this will mark will be a yellow triangle as the audio driver windows 7 already installed is a realtek ac 97, which does not.

    (5) once your Machinename, you will see a general tab and then Hardware tab select the Hardware tab.

    (6) seeking the Realtek ac 97 under the functions of the device, select it and click Properties,

    (7) tab now the driver, now click on update driver.

    (8) select Let me pick from a list of device drivers, now click on disk

    9) click Browse, select the following Swsetup\SP29586\SMAXWDM\W2K_XP location and click smwdmCH6.inf

    (10) the Soundmax driver should come now select ok and next year. Now your sound will work

Go on the side of Support HP and look for drivers for Presario R3000 and download the driver for Audio "SP28552" but do not install it. After you download the driver, search for the driver on the folder file download you too and right-click on it and select properties and then select "Change the setting for all users", once the pop-up window, select Compatibility Mode and select it for Window XP Service Pack 3 all the and click ok. Once you ok it click on the file to put in place and follow the steps.

I did it on my Compaq Presario R3000 which has Window XP and I installed Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit on it and it awesome except for the Audio that I just decided to work, but I still have problems with the Base system device drivers.

I hope this help you with the problem of noise.

  • Presario CQ 57-339wm: no sound from speakers, Driver date, don't watch working properly?

My Compaq Presario CQ57-339WM running 64-bit Windows 7 has no sound coming from the built-in speakers.  The headphone jack works with headphones, but the built-in speakers have no sound.  I just downloaded the driver update and still no sound.  When I check the speakers in the Manager, it indicates that the device is functioning properly.  Short of redo the original back recovery point system does anyone have any suggestions of how I can check to see if the problem is in the speakers or with the card or what?  I looked on the boards here, but nothing seemed to fit my problem exactly if I'd appreciate any help.  Thanks in advance.

  • No sound on computer PORTABLE Compaq Presario 1200 (12XL512)

I recently bought a Presario brocante 1200 (12XL512) notebook, when it arrived it had Windows XP Home installed. After some checking, I realized that I had no sound, even if Device Manager shows everything OK.

I then installed a XP Pro and updated to SP3, once again no sound, but showing all the drivers o.k.If I move the volume slider I hear temporarily, but once I stop this sound going again.

After searching all over the net, I found there are others with the exact problem, including the volume slider thing.

From what I understand, that I need a different driver, although one that I showed it is OK.

I tried the Driver Detective 2009 registered version, and that shows once again all drivers up to date, but still no sound.

I live also chatted with HP last night, and all they could say was change the laptop to its original operating system was Windows Millennium.

But I don't have the software for it and to be honest would'nt want to for obvious reasons.

So nobody knows how to solve this problem, or know the right driver and where I can get it.

Just say thank you to Daniel & Mariza, for help with this issue.

But have now opted for the easy out, way could not solve the driver problem.

For all those out there who struggle with sound as if I was, you can buy a USB sound card and you'll instantly have sound.

This is a simple dongle with Mic & headphone/speaker output, plug & plays no need for drivers, etc.

I paid 3.00 pounds for mine (UK seller), but the same thing has been less than 1.00 pound (which includes shipping) if bought from China.

Select don't search, I will choose the driver to install.
For the hardware Type select 'show all devices '.

Next... Navigate to the unzipped folder and choose the "WiSVHe5.inf".
    Ignore XP when it complains.
