  I couldn't get audio on YouTube videos on firefox for several days - I audio if video is a source other than you tube on Firefox. I am able to get you tube audio on Outlook and Google so I think it's a problem of "Firefox" and not on my computer. It's also happened on my counter top and my laptop. There is an X by the volume button on the You tube video, but it won't let me get rid of the X and turn the audio.

  You'll probably notice a silent X next to the volume icon (speaker) on the control bar of the Flash Player on YouTube (hover the player). There seems to be a problem on the YouTube site and the sound is disabled by default.
  If you need to pass the "speaker" icon and move the volume slider to the right to turn the sound back on.

  I don't know if this is a coincidence, but I deleted 'you tube' on who's who and suddenly I can't get sound on my mac on 'you tube' or 'facebook', video plays ok. Tried in 'safe mode', reset firefox and even reinstalled Firefox, no joy. I have no problem with the sound on Chrome. Can anyone help?

  I didn't try the above as before I contacted this site I have adobe redownlaoded and reinstalled firefox. There are some sounds, but not on you tube or facebook.

  I can't hear sound on the videos of You Tube with Adobe Flash Player (latest version). Audio on my laptop is good because I can listen to music from Media Player and other sources. The only problem with the audio is with videos from You Tube, my browser is Google Chrome and I use Norton AntiVirus. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  1. what version of Windows operating system is installed on your computer?

  2 is the issue with Google Chrome?

  3. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

  I recommend you to check if you can access YouTube video using Internet Explorer.

  Note: If the issue is with Google Chrome, then I recommend to get in touch with the help of Google Chrome.

  Try to play videos in Internet Explorer and check.

  When I try to play a dvd on media player there is no sound.  I can play music on media player without problem. Play a movie and no sound.  I have DVD kantaris (as media player I think) don't have to be here: no sound. Kantaris has worked to play DVDs and just stopped today.  Media Player has had no noise for a long time during playback of movies only. I use media player for any music I want and the sound is fine. I checked the volume and audio settings. I can hear sound on you tube and watch movie trailers of movies, etc..

  If this is not enough to look at if you have recently installed a blocker of advertising or any other add-on - we (s) in your browser try turning off / them, because they may interfere with the functionality of the site. You can also try to clear your browser's cache/cookies.

  If you get no audio cd, youtube or anything else, you must first check in the volume control that you are using the sound card, you are connected, that nothing is on mute and volume is sufficient, or install the drivers for your sound card.

  Video YouTube can be that your internet connection is slow or too much peoole try to watch the same video, save it to your hard drive and then watch or, give him a minute or two to download in the buffer before you start watching.
