Photo thumbnails for video files not available in the file for Windows 7 display options?
It seems that Windows 7 has eliminated the option to display "thumbnails" (photo) for video files, as it was available in Windows XP? Miniature photos were apparently also eliminated "Tile" option to display video files.
Am I right about that? If this is true, I'm really disappointed, but I would be grateful someone check or say - who confirmed this observation.

Why does dllhost.exe Com surrogate consumes memory until the crash.
This happens when I highlight or view a folder containing video files, even if I close the file or select another folder, that maintains the memory consuming.
It seems to happen more often with the 3D video files, but it has done the same with the 2D files.
It therefore seems to be a problem with the windows thumb nails system on these files.
Besides trying to delete or move the file or folder, while the Com Surrogate consumes memory Delete cannot complete the task.
What I did is to find by selecting delete file in question, then go to Task Manager stopping Com Surrogate, then deletes the file.
OK guys and girls, here is the scoop or what I discovered.
Went to paid Support MS started a ticket gave them the info of the problem.
I backed up before you have to pay, but it will still leave a ticket on the system req.
Them I did a searck masive on this problem and ran into this and I beleve it's true. It's the way they handled a similar problem in Vista.
So here it is.
"MS are aware of the problems with certain chipset / combinations ofdriver with the updated KB2670838.
They also have problems with the installation of IE10They work on these two issues and will be updated as and when they are convinced that they have solved the problems.
In the meantime, the recommendation is that if the update isn't the first phase of installation, make sure that it is uninstalled and then hide it - Windows Update will display it when it is updated. »To uninstall IE10 and KB2670838 update, should be fixed hide automatic update when your pop back up to be updated the problem.

If that does not do, unregister the shmedia.dll file and enter it again by typing these commands one at a time in start, run box:

Hello
organizing items 11 creates a blockage in the wait chain when generating thumbnails from more than a handful of MTS (AVCHD) files.
After you import the files AVCHD from my camcorder Canon, the Organizer by using the settings by default always breaks down. I was able to narrow the problem caused by the generation of thumbnail.
After disabling the automatic generation of thumbnails, the Organizer goes not down more at the launch.
Of course, it is inconvenient to work without thumbnails. The next station is a manual release of the generation of thumbnails by selecting "update the thumbnail.
If I manually start the update of the thumbnails of the files one by one, and then it works for quite a lot of files before crashing again.
Selection of miniature update for several files at the same time has a much higher probability to crash.
This does not seem to be related to the content of the particular file: a file that leads to crashing once can be perfectly get a thumbnail created on the next attempt.
The Windows event report looks as follows (German language Windows):
Fehlerhaften der application name: PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe, Version: 11.0.0.0, Zeitstempel: 0x505e9f67

Occasionally, another module is listed as wrong instead of msvcrt.dll.
My questions:
-everyone knows the same problem?
-is a known issue with 11 Organizer?
-is the problem solved with the Organizer 12?
I have first items 11, Photoshop elements 11 installed and not known to other problems with these applications.
Playing AVCHD files (*.) MTS) works perfectly, that is, I have not any codec or performance problem on my PC.
Disabling of anti-virus software has no significant effect. I have excluded video directories of the analysis in any case.
Have disabled the facial recognition, search Visual and smart tagging in the Organizer.
Also disabled hyperthreading in the BIOS.
By using the compatibility settings to Windows XP for PSE somewhat improved stability, but does not completely eliminate crashes.
In addition, it signnificantly slows down the generation of thumbnails and an indication of progress window becomes visible during the generation of thumbnails, which is barely perceptible natively from 8.1 to win.
Officially, 11 items is compatible with Windows 8.1.
There is a knowledge base article associated with 6 elements, which recommend to disable multi-threading and running on more than a core Organizer.
This reduces the problem somewhat, but always more than a handful of files leads to crashing miniatures.
Through the Task Manager, I analyzed the PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe process wait chain:
Each time the error occurs, it is caused by a blockage in the wait chain.
For example:
PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe (PID:6440) Thread: 6540
-PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe (PID:6440) Thread: 5932
-PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe (PID:6440) Thread: 6540

I uninstalled all other codecs and filters. It seems that this was caused by a filter of LAV (but I have not tried to reproduce the problem, I can't be sure).
Everything works fine now and Adobe wants not to be blamed. .

I need help for videos in Movie Maker. How can I import them from my USB?
Whenever I put a video in Windows Movie Maker, I click on the folder that contains all of my videos and it says that there is no items match my search. The photos appear good, but the videos don't. So I tried to plug in my flash drive, which also has my videos on it, and which simply says that there is no items match my search. What to do...

Slow buffering for video files
Hi all
Since I've upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 I asked problems with buffering speed when watching video files; the buffering is not enough before you stop and start the video. Very annoying. Any ideas on what might be the cause of the problem and how do I fix this? I use a new HP Pavilion with enough bells and whistles so I am sure that is not hardware related.
Thanks in advance,
Sharon R.

Hi SharonMary,
Thank you for visiting Microsoft Answers!
a. what browser do you use?
are b. you having trouble playing the videos online?Follow these steps to speed up buffering videos online on all sites:
1. click on the Start button.
2. Type "system.ini" in the search box
3. press "enter".
After that, you will have file Notepad system identical or similar to this:
Code:
; support for 16-bit app
[386Enh]
woafont = dosapp.fon
EGA80WOA. FON = EGA80WOA. FON
EGA40WOA. FON = EGA40WOA. FON
CGA80WOA. FON = CGA80WOA. FON
CGA40WOA. FON = CGA40WOA. FON
[drivers]
Wave = mmdrv.dll
Timer = Timer.drv
[mci]
Make a backup that is named system_backup. TXT and save it somewhere just in case, and then add the following code in the system. INI file prior to the [drivers]:
Code:
page = 1000000Tbps buffer
load = 1000000Tbps
Download = 1000000Tbps
Save = 1000000Tbps
back = 1000000Tbps
Search = 1000000Tbps
Sound = 1000000Tbps
Webcam = 1000000Tbps
voice = 1000000Tbps
faxmodemfast = 1000000Tbps
Update = 1000000Tbps
So now your system. INI file should look like this:
Code:
; support for 16-bit app
[386Enh]
woafont = dosapp.fon
EGA80WOA. FON = EGA80WOA. FON
EGA40WOA. FON = EGA40WOA. FON
CGA80WOA. FON = CGA80WOA. FON
CGA40WOA. FON = CGA40WOA. FON
page = 1000000Tbps buffer
load = 1000000Tbps
Download = 1000000Tbps
Save = 1000000Tbps
back = 1000000Tbps
Search = 1000000Tbps
Sound = 1000000Tbps
Webcam = 1000000Tbps
voice = 1000000Tbps
faxmodemfast = 1000000Tbps
Update = 1000000Tbps
[drivers]
Wave = mmdrv.dll
Timer = Timer.drv
[mci]
I hope this helps!
Response with status.
Kind regards

We recorded using our recorder ProRes Ninja, resulting in files large .mov (as expected). While my Mac laptop is capable of playing Quicktime files, my PC cannot of course. In the meantime, I create compressed copies of the files (such as .mp4s) for sequencing on my PC, because it is a much more powerful machine. However, I don't know how to use these compressed files affect the quality of the final product.
I have to encode files .mov to a different output for use on my PC, is there a way for my PC read uncompressed files or .mp4 files will be sufficient for the high quality of desired output?
Thanks for your help!
For a PC, you have to download the Quicktime Player... Although I found that the best work, go ahead and get the Qt Pro license (bit less $ 30) seem to make the best out of my 1080 p mov files. Many users pc found here as soon as they have downloaded Qt, their mov worked well. So... you should be able to use fine as-is in mov codec after d - l QuickTime or at worst, Qt Pro license number is entered in your Qt player.

Ok.. so now, I learned, to my great filesJe panorama wont get a thumbnail in the Organizer. Just a warning blue Triangle with a exclamation point. I assign works of golf course where I point phototos and impression 38 x 11 inches at 300 dpi.
So what is the work around? Is it a problem in the submission program Photoshop? Course I can... copy the file... reduce the resolution... Save it with a different name... etc.
What the heck! You can't tell me that the authors of the program from Adobe can do this job for large files! Why the limit? By the way... What is the limit?
Thank you
By the way... What is the limit?

Firefox 40.0.3 doesn't know the preferences for video file?
I have a slow internet connection and use Firefox to get the youtube URL, then copy and paste to youtube-dl to download the file. I watch offline. This worked ok until that firefox 40.0.3. It seems to ignore the preference "always ask" and starts playing the video immediately.
YouTube may have switched Linux users to its newest HTML5 player, which does not use Flash. If you right click on the drive, you should get a popup to short. The last line of the menu short should indicate if the HTML5 player or Flash Player. Or if you get the regular Firefox context menu, it is not Flash.
Short-term workaround solutions:
(1) use the extension Flash Control to stop HTML5 video (and Flash video) AutoPlay
(2) YouTube forces use Flash instead of HTML5. There are a few modules for this. Either of them will do, you don't need both:
- https://addons.Mozilla.org/firefox/addon/YouTube-Flash-Player/
- https://addons.Mozilla.org/firefox/addon/YouTube-Flash-video-player/
I heard that these don't work for YouTube integrated on other sites.

Open Firefox Windows Media Player for video files
I need to make Firefox to open the actual Windows Media Player application (not a plugin, the window real app) when clicking on video links, for example, WMV. These file types are already associated in Windows Explorer with WMPlayer, but this has no effect on Firefox.
What happens now is that, after you have clicked on a video, I get a screen black with yellow icon of VLC Player (VideoLAN VLC installed on my PC) in the Center and no video. I don't want to launch VLC or internal plug-ins.
You can change the type of application opens for each kind of type in Firefox options.
> Options > Applications > (example) SWF file > select everything on the right side (e.g. use of ShockWave Flash for Firefox > Set another use, find Windows Media Player)

How to display thumbnails for photo files?
original title: in my photo/s file, I don't see the pictures of my photos. Instead, I see a collage of a flower for each photo. How to bring back my thumb nails?
If I double click on one of these flowers, relative to this file image will be download and display in the Windows Live Photo Gallery. This means that I have to double-click on each flower and open each one in the Gallery to see the photo. I know there is a way to change these flower pictures to show my thumb nails in my photo/s file, but I do not remember how to change them. Can you help me?
In fact, I just found it. I went into control panel customization & appearance, where I was able to select the photos instead of icons. Phew! Which was only a week. Hatred of Microsoft.
