No way for my image map links to stay?

On my site, I think using a large map image with 12 hot spots (mostly thumbnails of images and text links).

The problem is, if I still change an image / inch, then I must generate a new imagemap and redo all 12 links hotspot everywhere.

Very tedious.

The good side is that I can then swap images and do other creative things in Photoshop with layers etc. And the fonta are more abundant.

I'd like to hire a Web Designer to (html / CSS) all for me, allowing me to Exchange on the right thumb in dreamweaver.

So my simple question is this: is there a way I don't know who the DW, could remember the hotspot links during the removal and replacement of a card image large? Thank you.

Yes, just do not delete the image first... Just replace using the Properties Inspector.

If the image is at the beginning of the subject, or all alone in a reference topic, you can put "#" (without the quotes) as the link for each area reactive.

If the image is larger than the viewing window, it can jump to the top, but only if the user clicks on the link.

I tried wz_tooltips and like it. I agree with Leon, it will take time for the first image but maybe go faster later.

  • Mobile mapping link does not?

Hi, we have an email that goes out and have 3 separate links that should be clickable. On our desktop view all the links work, however on mobile all clickable areas only go to a link rather than their designated link.

Any help or insight is much appreciated!

I don't see anything wrong with the code snippet you posted. My guess is that you tried to resize images in mobile devices using css.

The standard used for an html image map coordinates are absolute. This means that if you resize an image using css, it will not also resize your image map coordinates in the html code. My guess is your image resizes enough small to fit under the first card entirely on a phone box, so you only have a single link.

In order to have an image responsive cards, you must use javascript. A search for "reactive image maps" will provide you with scripts that will do the trick.

  • Image mapping, what should I use?

Is there a way to do image mapping in DW? What about PS CS4? Illustrator?

    Thank you

Use Dreamweaver to image maps. Insert an image on your web page. Click on the hotspot (rectangle, circle, or polygon) tools and click on & do drag the mouse on the image to define the bindable areas.

Never use a graphical application to generate the HTML code for you. Graphics are great for creating and optimizing images for the web, but they suck Plumb as code generators. DW or any other HTML editor is what you use to create web pages.

This site uses javascript Cyber Studio shares. Cyba Studio was abandoned years ago.

If you code savy enough, you can extract the JavaScript site and the csactions and rebuild your own needs. It is not so difficult, but do not know your way around the code environment in Dreamweaver.

Give us another link site and I'll take a look to see if there there was nothing more to code day discount these pop_ups.

    Hello

You could just add links to each box, but a better solution would be to use svg for this. Unfortunately, it is easier for me to write for someone who does not know svg to do.

If you have Adobe Illustrator create your svg using this program, then it would be a case to add links manually to each box created in the svg code. SVG is an xml-based language and not a real image, even if this is how a browser will display the it.

  • Can someone help me and explain how to assign hotspot/image map with rules of css or any other way?

I have problem with hotspot because its position cannot be fixed to follow the proportion of the fixed background in different resoulutions.

You cannot assign hotspots with css. Here are some options different however, you have...

You can try to use several images that can evolve, linking each image, instead of hot spots.

You can also look into "sensitive image maps" to get examples of jquery/javascript run interactive images that can be resized.

According to your image (for example, if you are linking States on a map) you would be able to use the SVG paths and link paths with javascript.

  • Image map that links to the framework

For my site, I want to use the Image mapping to open new pages in the frame below the menu (as can be seen on the link below), however the site opens in a new window, even if I said dreamweaver that the target is box below (called "Content"). Anyone know why it does not work?

    http://portfolio.IO.utwente.nl/student/graatb/

You are aware of all the reasons would never use images, right?

Since DW did not load frames entirely for several versions, you need to add manually a NAME attribute for your destination in the frameset frame - then would make you the attribute target link to this NAME, you added, for example,.

In your case, you would change-

    on this subject.

    That should do it.

Once you are in design mode, click a picture in your page

The Image Map tools will appear in the Properties window (press F8 or window > properties if it is not open)

  • Addition of < A HREF or image map image is 3px padding on image L/R

    Hi all -

I have an interesting problem. I am designing a web page that has a navigation banner (home - programs - calendar of events - contact us - download page) which consists of a .png for each page (e.g., home.png, programs.png, etc.). My page is 1000px wide and all the images in the banner of the navigation add up to 1000px wide.

I use JavaScript to create an effect onMouseOver and onMouseOut on each of the images. The problem I encounter occurs when I tried to add a link (either by < A HREF = or using an image map). Whenever I have add a link to the image, a box of small (3px) white space appears to the right of the image. That all my other images 3px moves to the right (and other 3 for each link, I add to the subsequent images) which makes the total width of the banner of browsing 1000px and the last image gets pushed to a new line.

I can't find any way to get rid of this white space other than to remove the link of the image. There is no property on the page that adds any kind of padding, margins, borders, images or links, so I don't see a property that must be changed.

Help! How can I get rid of that white space, but always keep the link on the image?

    [I have attached a screenshot showing a before/after images without/with links]

    Thanks in advance!

  • Screen tips in images without links

I would like to create an image map, but instead of hyperlinks to each place, I want just a ToolTip to appear different. For example, with a brief explanation of each part of the image.

I can see a way to do it though. The image plane is the closest, I can see, but that requires you to have a link to each location.

Any suggestions on how I can accomplish this? Thank you.

Hi albertossjohn and welcome to our community

I do it all the time. Use the Image map regions and enter the ToolTip text. And for the hyperlink, simply type a pound (#) symbol.
