NB200 - what HARD drive is suitable?

160GB (MK1655GSX) being too small so I want to change to a 500 GB or more. Which is more suited to the NB200?

Hello!

In my view, that there is no best ALBUM. You need only a HARD drive with a 2.5 laptop HARD drive with SATA interface. 500 GB should be possible because on the new laptops, there is no capacity limit.

It makes no difference which manufacturing you buy the HARD drive, but I recommend a 5400 RPM model. There are also drives at 7200 rpm on the market, but they need more battery power and produce more heat. Also 5400 RPM normally fast enough for most applications.

    (I prefer capacity 320 or 500 GB)

    Hello

SATA controller is downward compatible, you can use SATA I or SATA II HDD.
It is important that you would use SATA 2.5 HDD. The size is not very important for 500 GB configuration issues should be ok too.

  • Satellite Pro M70 - what HARD drive can you recommend?

I have Satellite Pro M70 and I have a 60GB HDD that I see what it s SATA 8 MB of buffer memory. The processor it s 1.73 GHz. I see that there is the Samsung typical 160 GB and the Western Digital Scorpio Blue 160 GB at the same price, which is better?

And for only $ 11 more there's a Scorpio blue Western digital 320 with even 8 MB buffer than other 2. But I don t think so 320, that's a lot for Satellite Pro M70, and I have an external drive 2.5 "250 GB, data with this is not problem.

What the best solution for this laptop? I don t want to burn now the phone LOL.

    Thank you

    Hello

If your laptop is already equipped with SATA interface, you can use each HDD with SATA1 or SATA2 port on the new SATA interface there is no limit on the old standard IDE

It s your choice what HARD drive you buy because I put t know your needs, but in my opinion it makes no difference which manufacturing you buy the HARD drive. All hard drives are similar and there is no significant difference (performance).
I made good experiences with Western Digital and Hitachi hard drives.

By the way: you can buy a HARD drive with 7200 rpm or 5400.rpm. Latter is faster but requires more power. In my opinion, this is useful if you often work with large files.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    Satellite L300 supports SATA HDD!
SATA controller having no physical limit, you should be able to use any HARD drive 2.5 SATA. So, for example, a 500 GB 2.5 SATA 5400 RPM HARD drive should be compatible.

    Hello

I m not a Satellite M70 owner but as far as I know this laptop comes with SATA drives. But you can check yourself if you remove the HARD drive and then you can see which interface it is.
If you have a SATA interface, you can buy each HARD drive you want. On interface SATA there is no capacity limit.

Normally you can install Windows 7 but it s not released yet. Theoretically, it should work but I'll wait until it's official market.

With a new HARD disk, you use the Toshiba recovery disc too. Why not? It s not dependent on the HARD drive you have so just boot make up and follow the instructions on the screen.

If you have any other questions, please let us know. :)

    Important is only that you use the HARD disk that supports the specifications on the right;

The laptop supports the SATA controller to use the SATA HDD.

Hello fellow users of HP laptop

I own an EliteBook 8540w and wonder what HARD drive I can use to upgrade this box.

Here are the detailed specifications of the box.

Processor type: Mobile Quad Core Intel Core i7-740QM, 2100 MHz (16 x 131)

Card mother name: Hewlett-Packard HP EliteBook 8540w

Motherboard Chipset: Intel Ibex Peak - M QM57, Intel Clarksfield

    System memory: 8119 MB (DDR3 - 1333 DDR3 SDRAM)

    DIMM1: Samsung M471B5273CH0-CH9 4 GB DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM (9-9-9-24 @ 666 MHz) (8-8-8-22 @ 609 MHz) (7-7-7-20 @ 533 MHz) (6-6-6-17 @ 457 MHz) (5-5-5-14 @ 380 MHz)

The HARD drive I have now is this.

I assumed that the height of the HARD drive is key here, so not so many restrictions on the HARD drive, is that OK? I could get an SSD as well as long as the height is very well, just?

    Thank you for your help.

    Best regards

Yes, absolutely. Stick with 2.5 inches wide, 9.5 or 7 mm thickness SATA hdd or SSD. 7 mms are leaner, but the mounting holes are in the same place and the SATA data connector and the power supply is in the same place. You cannot use a 9.5 where only a 7mm is used as on Ultrabooks ultraslim, but a 7mm will replace a 9.5 mm. 7mm fits into the caddy and connectors will still work the drive but does not fill the carriage upwards. Yours is a chunky fellow that originally had a 9.5 mm drive. Sometimes you see disks of 2.5 inches wide from 12mm for blades and those who are not fit.

If it's in the budget, get an SSD. I'm kinda an envangelist SSD, but you will be too once you have used a.

  • What HARD drive I can use on my Satellite A660-13D?

    Hello

I'm looking for any compatible for a Toshiba SATELLITE A660-13D hard disk drive as the one inside is dead now.

This model comes with the laptop is a TOSHIBA MK6465GSX 640 GB, SATA 3 Gb/second 5400 RPM 2.6 revision

Official suppliers of Toshiba quoted me 130 euros por the same model.

I can't have such model through any other store or the internet.

There are a lot of different new TOSHIBA HDD in the market with the largest capacity and much less expensive than the MK6465GSK.

Can I install any new toshiba HDD on my SATELLITE A660-13D?

Is there any toshiba page where I can find out what toshiba HARD drive are compatible with my SATELLITE?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

    Fernando

What you need is 2.5 SATA HDD and it may be Toshiba but it may also be of some other manufacturers. You don't need anything special. If possible consult your dealer and they can help you choose one that suits.

Now, when you need a new HARD drive maybe you should think about upgrading with SSD. Disc SSD is much faster and use of SSD with your laptop will rapidly increase the performance of s for laptop.

More info on SSD, you can read on http://storage.toshiba.eu/cms/en/index.html

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • Satellite A60 - 102 - what HARD drive is possible

What capacity of hard drive used in this laptop

    Hello

Satellite A60 is a little older series and I think that the laptop supports the IDE HDD controller
Perhaps the HARD disk controller support for only 28 bit LBA, which means that only 128 GB would be recognized by the BIOS.

I think a 120 GB HDD should work but I'm not sure if the biggest hard drives would be supported due to mentioned m 28-bit LBA

  • Satellite A200-1N2 what HARD drive are supported?

    Hello

I have an A200-1N2, with the original 120GB hard drive.
I would like to upgraded to a larger capacity HARD internal disk.
Can you please me, whose internal hard disk capacities and types (only IDE?) are supported?

    Thank you very much!!
    Leor

    > Can you please tell me, what capacity internal hard drive and types (only IDE?) are supported?
First of all, for all IDE HDD is NOT supported, because the laptop supports the SATA HDD controller. Therefore, use of SATA 2.5 hard disks.

Given that the SATA controller is not limited to any size, you should be able to use any HARD drive 2.5 SATA.

    Hello

I want to spend my hard drive, but I'm not sure what to choose.

Can someone tell me what would be a good choice? I think somewhere around 320 G.

    Thank you

    Hello

All hard drives 2.5 SATA must be compatible, since there is no physical limitation of the SATA HDD controller.
So, theoretically, you could take a 500 GB 2.5 SATA HDD.

    Hi all,

I just got a Toshiba Satellite Pro 2100, but the hard disk has been removed for the protection of the data. Now, I don't know what type of HARD drive, I have to get PATA/SATA?

You can buy this store on the computer HARD drive because it has an IDE interface. You can t use a HARD drive with the new SATA interface.

    Hello world

I have a Qosmio G30-161. The recovery discs are interrupted by a blue screen and windows cannot be installed!
I tried to install a retail windows xp but does not recognize the hard drive!

I'm almost convinced that the problem in the hard drive - computer laptop has2 - 60G each!

The question is: what is the good hard drive that will fit in the laptop!

In the specifications, S.M.A.R.T have been written!

    What does this mean?

    Hello

You can remove hard disks and order the same. On the HARD drive you can find the purchase order number.
For example, it can be Toshiba HDD2D33BZK01.

Of course, you can also use with a higher capacity HARD drive.
The question is: what you want to do exactly?

    Hello

I think that the laptop supports an IDE HDD controller that supports only 28-bit LBA as suggested by resident. This means that the controller does support max 128 GB IDE hard drives.

Since ATA - 6 (Ultra DMA mode 5 or Ultra-ATA100) the 48-bit LBA is supported but I n t think that Sam 2410-504 was equipped with the ATA-6 controller and therefore, it seems that 120 GB (128 GB HARD drive not available) disk HARD is the maximum that could be used.
