No wifi on Inspiron 17 5758

I got my Inspiron renovated 17 5758 Tuesday. My internet was down and I was not able to connect it to my mobile access point, but I don't think much.

Wednesday my internet worked once again, and I can't see ANY wifi network. I could use a wired connection and download a ton of Windows 8.1 updates in the hope that one of those triggered it. Nothing.

I've updated to Windows 10 and still no wifi. I tried to run to troubleshoot and repair. I downloaded and updated drivers from the Web site.

Is there something that I am missing? My modem/router is N +, I'll try with a friend tonight, but even if my modem is not compatible, I should be able to see something.

I'd say you have a faulty card or the antenna cables are not connected inside your laptop.

I would contact the seller pronto.

  • Card problem Wifi Dell Inspiron 14-5447

    Hello

I bought my computer laptop 15 Feb. Since a month my laptop wifi to PC Adapter crashes suddenly. It shows that it is enabled in the settings of the card, but will not connect to any network or even to see the available networks. When I try disabling and re-enabling the adapter to my laptop crashes or I get a BSOD. I tried to update the drivers. Help, please!

Also, take a look at the Networking & Wireless of Dell Support Center.  There are a few things you can do to try to improve the strength of the signal.

    • Since your card is a dual-band card try either using the 5 GHz band or upgrade your router to one that can manage that bandwidth.
    • Change the channel of your router connects to that and see if that clears any interference that could have an impact on communications.
    • Turn off bluetooth to see if it improves your signal
    • (Temporarily) remove the security settings on your router and see if it improves performance

There are a few others not you can try, and they are described in the article from the link above.

  • What should I buy instead of 5737 Inspiron?

    Hello!

I have worked for a time on Inspiron 5737, i7, full HD, 16 GB RAM, SSD, but couldn't find this laptop or this configuration more.

It was extermely fast and well designed (love the design in aluminium). New DELLs are more plastic and defective keyboards.

For example, I have also Inspiron 5547 and the touchpad there is a joke, the pointer is sometimes lag (he jumps and click randomly when the laptop is plugged into the charger), and sometimes the gestures do not work even if they are enabled.

Unfortunately I can't return it, the seller claims it works flawless, but it's not. I'll try again, because it's hilarious. I have also Inspiron 3737 and it works like a charm with no problems with the touchpad, or any other.

My questions: what should I buy instead of 5737 (because I can't buy it more)? If not, where can I buy a new 17R 5737 full HD with i7 or i5? Is there another, non-tout-plastic laptop DELL, the successor of 5737? Why this model was cancelled while it was perfect?

    Best regards

    BatSK8

Thank you for posting. For a 17 "system which is similar to the 5737 I suggest to take a look at the Inspiron 17 5758 , I think they make a better match for you.  Please let me know if you think that the 5758 will be a suitable model for you.

  • Dell Inspiron 14z Wi - Fi connectivity issues

I have a brand new Ultrabook Dell Ispiron 14z.  I keep having problems with Wi - Fi connectivity.  I can use the Ethernet connection very well, but when I try to connect to the Wi - Fi I'm getting no access or limited connectivity.  I have other devices and laptops that work very well on the same Wi - Fi networks.

Help, please.  I hope that I don't have to send the laptop back but if Wi - Fi does not work it sort of defeats the purpose.

    Thank you

    Dave

I bought the laptop series Inspiron 5000 14 at costco, a week ago. I have problems to major wifi adapter, which if you look at the thread on the community support forums, seems to be a design flaw with the location of the wifi radio models in this (and a few other Inspiron).

    See: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/network-internet-wireless/f/3324/t/19589278

This is a showstopper for me and I'll return the laptop to Costco as soon as POSSIBLE. I'm looking at a similar replacement machine (non-Dell) and found a decent deal at Best Buy for a Toshiba Satellite 14 '' touchscreen with similar specs as the Dell.

    http://www.BestBuy.com/site/Toshiba-Satellite-14-touch-screen-laptop-Intel-Core-i5-6GB-memory-750gb-hard-drive-satin-gold/6128128.p?ID=1219191185727&skuId=6128128&St=i5&CP=1&LP=3

I hope this helps others who are considering this phone or who bought this laptop to understand the issues with the Intel Dual Wireless 3160 adapter. This is not an incident isolated - just do a search on google for 'wifi dell inspiron 5000 14 problems' and there are many stories of customers with similar problems.

Shame on you Dell to put out such a piece under the normal material. I'm not impressed.

  • Can't see some WiFi networks, while others may

This problem only occurs on the floor of a convention center (and it takes place in several events)

    (1) I see some networks, but not the designated convention center WiFi free

    (2) everyone around me (a few feet), automatically detects and connects to the network

    (3) I do my cell phone a hotspot.  I detect cela, but does not connect.

    (4) I go back to my hotel room, easily detect / connect to the wifi at the hotel, as well as easily detect / connect to the hotspot.

    I use Windows 7 Professional

Compare the networks that you can see with one of your colleagues.  You see them with the same signal strength?  If it is then maybe your ability to receive card WiFi is abnormal and the desired network arrives just in below the level that he can cope.

If this is the situation then search this forum, the support site for your computer manufacturer & their forums of users for your WiFi card.  See if other people have reported similar problems and how they fixed them.  If there is no guideline anywhere then reinstalling the card driver WiFi might be the first thing to try.

I made this suggestion because my card WiFi Dell Inspiron 1545 [Broadcom 1397] could never receive the same strength of signal to others could.  Several other users of Broadcom 1397 reported the same problem.  In this case, the solution was to uninstall Dell utility WiFi control then [Device Manager], select the WiFi card, look in its properties, driver tab and back the driver by default that came with Windows 7.  I don't pretend that your solution will be the same and I invite you to search for reports from other users.

  • Firefox 20 sending emails in wrong language

    Hello
I installed 20 FF on desktop of my wife [Dell Inspiron 537 s, Windows 7 Home Premium SP1]. [Yahoo] emails she sends often arrive in the Inbox of the recipients in a Middle-Eastern style instead of the English language. I reinstalled FF three times in the last 6 months, but this problem keeps returning. This only happens in Firefox; never in knowledge or Chrome.
One thing to note: it is a little "Artsy" so she plays with text styles, fonts and background colored with each email for everyone do feel "special." She makes these changes within the web Yahoo mail only. Not within its operating system. Any ideas on that?
A big thank you to you all,.

This can happen if the mails are displayed in UTF-16 format.

You can check the encoding to ensure that it is set to UTF - 8.

  • Inspiron 17 5000 5758 signal fluctuating series AC - 3160 Intell wireless and wifi poor problem and solution

I tried putting this on an existing thread, but in case this helps someone else, I bought a new laptop which had poor wifi signal performance.  You could see the signal just bouncing up and down on the taskbar indicator.  Also browsing the internet would give the message "cannot find server".  Adapter would show bad connection speed reduced down to 11 mb.  When the laptop has been moved near wireless modem, things would work better.  (moved and within 3 feet)

It turns out that the sons of antennas have been disconnected card wireless at the back.  There are two screws that hold the plastic cover on and once opened a 3rd screw that holds a bit of support that secures the son.  It is very easy to check.  Two of my friends have been disconnected!

Anyway, tried to put it in the thread below but may be too old, he also has some good tips:

  • Cannot turn on my wifi on a dell inspiron 9400

We bought the linksys wrt54gs and all is well with our 2 other laptops to connect to the internet. I can't activate my wifi on dell inspiron 9400, in order to connect wireless. I think that this is supposed to be fn f2, to allow, but who doesn't.

    Help, please...

What symbol is blue on your F2 key?

    (1) a radio station antenna?

    (2) a battery?

    (3) others?

If you do not have a radio station antenna, then look for a switch turn on your wireless adapter.  If you have a switch, it should be located on the side of the computer.  If you have a switch, turn on the light of Wi - Fi to your computer on and outside.

In addition, have messed about in the Bios of your computer?  If so, then maybe you accidentally turned off your card wireless in the bios of your computer.

In addition, on some computers, you can disable the card wireless in your wireless network card settings (double-click on the bottom wireless icon on the right).  Then click here to see if your wireless card is turned off.

Also, in Device Manager, where you found "Use this device (enabled)" - set to 'disable', restart the computer and then reset "enable" and see if that helps.

  • Dell Inspiron 13-7352 Wifi dropped unable to connect!

I just bought this new laptop today with Windows 10 system. Everything worked fine in the first few hours but all to BLOW IT IS No. CONNECTION WIFI. There was just a Red Cross in the symbol of this wifi at the bottom right and when I click on it or plane, or the wifi mode is activated.

I clicked on bottom of wifi, but it has no light, kept gray. I opened the setting turned on wifi but there is no wifi displayed. I go to the setting for the airplane mode screen and 'WiFi' botton was not on. I clicked on it to try to turn it on but it won't let me. the background moved to 'on' and then bounced back is disabled, gray kept Just... I activated the airplane mode and then turned off and tried repeatedly to turn on the WIFI. It just won't let me.

And then I restarted the laptop. THEN THE WIFI has WORKS PERFECTLY... at the bottom of the wifi, once restarted, just worked so well, that I could turn it on and off with a simple click. of course different from the previous.

HOWEVER, AFTER 2 HOURS, EXACTLY THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN... I REBOOTED, IT WORKED AGAIN...

I think that there's obviously a problem. No way I'll keep restarting my laptop every 2 hours...

    someone has an idea?

    Thank you!

I also wanted to return the laptop after talking to Dell technical support. They asked more then $100 to repair or buy support for one year for $250. I hope I had help from my son-in-low who is an experienced certified networks engineer and we spent an hour or more on the phone to solve the problem and find the right Wi - Fi configuration.

Here is the solution that works for my Inspiron 2015 13 7000 2-in-1.

    1. go to the Start button setting.

    2. on the definition of window go to "network and Internet".

    3. in the window "Network & Internet" open "network and sharing Center."

    4. on the window center network and sharing, find connections: Wi - Fi (name of your wi - fi connection)

    5. click on Wi - Fi and open the window state of the Wi - Fi free.

    6. on the wireless connection status window, click the properties button and open the Properties window for the free Wi - Fi connection.

    7. you will see the list of questions for this connection.

    8. attention to two points: Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6). On my laptop, the two protocols have been verified.

    9. click on TCP/IPv6. Click OK and close the other windows.

    10. restart the laptop.

After that my problem has been resolved and I had Internet.

Hope this will help some of you.

  • ALL NEW Inspiron 7000 WiFi is Horrendous!

I got my Inspiron 7000 literally an hour (15-inch, i7core, HD 8 GB RAM 1 TB model) ago. That is fine, but the WiFi is sickening. It keeps down the internet connection and whenever I start troubleshooting it gives me a different problem to be fixed. First of all, it was a problem with the wireless card, then "default gateway was not available".  This is unacceptable. I work at home and need a SOLID connection. It's already enough Dell took almost 3 weeks to get the thing to me and now this. I am tired and frustrated. All other devices in my house will connect and STAY connected, so the problem is not on my end. I send this thing back? I hope not.

Hi, I had this problem with my Dell Inspiron 7000 series 10 Windows running. I am VERY frustrated by lack of Dell to help with this problem. For awhile, I successfully used a plug in USB Wi - Fi dongle (I disabled the internal Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 7265 card first). I didn't have time to browse using phone Dell prolix. I was convinced that it was a hardware problem. Then I solved the problem: I updated the Intel driver (on the site of Dell). No difference. Went to Device Manager, right click the Intel WiFi thingy in network cards, then choose Properties, and then 'Advanced' tab, then I turned aggressive walk until way (no), disabled "disconnect wowlan (no difference), then attached power to the 'up' (no difference). Finally and successfully, I looked up my router wireless BT, found it is "802.11 b/g/n" and changed "wireless" mode in the menu computer laptop adapter: "802. 11 b/g and THAT worked. Instantly, got a solid connection. Great relief. Now, I even had a spare WiFi dongle for one of the laptops to work. I'm pretty annoyed that I couldn't find a tutorial online to Dell about this, however.

  • Dell Inspiron 17-5748 Airplane Mode is not turned off, WiFi and BlueTooth turns off

I may have made a mistake in believing Dell had together when I upgraded to Windows 10. I can not connect to any Bluetooth device and no WiFi at all. Laptop remains in Airplane Mode and it cannot be cut.

I tried all the options I know to correct the problem, except to 8.1, that I can still do since I have had nothing but problems since his arrival at 10 Windows.

If return to Windows 8.1 is a viable option, even if that would mean reinstall all my programs, I guess it's a solution.

Worse, it is now is no longer under warranty and I'll have to pay for support. I'm hoping to find a viable solution here.

The device in question is the map of 1704 802.11 WiFi b/g/n 2.4 mhz.

Any help would be welcome. This Dell is barely a year.
