I uninstalled norton, then put it in the trash, then empty. I used the component files snap recuver and felt that all the programs.most of norton have been obliterated, it seems that the 3, I got are shaped (excellent) and do not at all.
now I have in my laptop but I do not know how to reinstall them. I have windows vista Basic. We can not help you to lose the Norton Disk!
You use NOT of Recuva to find files for a deleted NORTON program, then reinstall Norton using these recovered files.
You have a NORTON problem, not a problem of Vista .

Sorry to say this, but in my opinion, we were one of the two
the worst in the other security programs.Sorry, I can't help you with the details of the Norton problem. For a
antivirus, I recommend eSet NOD32, if you're ready
to pay for it. If you want a free anti-virus, I recommend one (are not
run several) of the following three:
Avira AntiVir
Avast
Microsoft Security Essentials
You also need anti-spyware software. I recommend that you download and
install MalwareBytes AntiMalware (freeware).Ken Blake (MS-MVP)

Firefox constantly asks me to upgrade to the latest version, which is not a problem as long as the new generation is compatible with applications that I serve throughout and rely on every day. I use the 40.0.3 version and it wants me to update to 41.0.2. If the Norton Identity Safe toolbar work with my current version of Firefox, what is the compatibility issue with a newer version of Firefox? IE does not appear to have this problem of update... which makes me consider the switch back to IE as my default browser. I rely on the Identity Safe to take care of my connection problems, and there is no need to deal with problems of incompatibility. I know I'm not alone in finding this aggravation with updates. (I use Win7 Home Premium, 64-bit).
Sorry, this is a change in the types of code Add - ons are allowed to include. It was supposed to change in Firefox 40, but at the request of vendors such as Symantec, it was postponed to 41 of Firefox. I don't think this change will flip over. Norton is working on a new version, but I understand that it takes longer than expected.
Here's what I suggest for users who need Norton password security features:
Instead of freezing your Firefox on a non secure version, consider using the Extended Support Release (ESR). It is designed for businesses that require a cycle time longer between changes to the features, but anyone can use it. ESR is currently based on Firefox 38. It will get updates of security over the coming months, but not to get new features, so changes in Firefox 41 concerning the compatibility of the add-on will not be out for a good time.
Norton is likely to continue to support the ESR until the new toolbar update is finished, maybe next month. After that, I don't know what they will do because normally they don't take over a small range of versions.
If you decide to try it, here's how I suggest to install:
Clean reinstall it
We use this name, but it isn't about deleting your settings, this is to ensure that the program, files are clean (not incompatible, corrupt or exotic code files). As described below, this process does not disrupt your existing settings. Don't uninstall NOT Firefox, that does not need.
(A) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 38.3.0esr of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).
(B) the release of Firefox (if any).
(C) simply rename the program folder, either:
(Windows 64-bit folder names)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
TO
C:\Program Files (x86)\Fx41
(Windows 32-bit folder names)
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
TO
C:\Program Files\Fx41
(D) run the installer downloaded to (A). It should automatically connect to your existing settings.
Success?
Note: Some plugins can only exist in the old folder. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:
- \Fx41\Plugins
- \Fx41\browser\plugins

are there problems of compatibility with the V6 and Norton 360 as there were in the past?
When I tried upgrading to a newer version, a number of my functions of Norton 360 would not work and I got a pop-up message indicating that there is some sort of compatibility issue. I got eventually back to V4.
No there aren't any 'problems' with Norton. Norton has released a fix for compatibility for Firefox 6 last Tuesday, a few hours after Firefox 6 is out.

Problems of software download Norton antivirus after the recovery of the product
Recently, I used the product recovery disc to restore my computer to its original state. I then logged on Norton to reinstall my anti-virus but I get the following message:
A PROBLEM OCCURRED WHICH NEEDS YOUR ATTENTION
This product is not compatible with the operating system of computers you. You must have one of the following systems.
Microsoft Windows Vista (32 bit & 64 bit) don't pack 1 or later starter/Home Basic/Home premium/professional/ultimate
I got this version of Norton running before you run the product recovery.
Any help on this would be highly appreciated.Owen.
Hello Owen
As far as I know Toshiba use trial versions that you can use for three months. After this time, you must purchase a license or remove the preinstalled version of the system.
If your decision is to use Norton, I think that all questions related to Norton must be clarified with their support.

original title: problem with file ntsd.exe
I just did a check of norton power Eraser which revealed that I have a problem with the file ntsd.exe. Does anyone have suggestions about what to do to fix it? Thank you very much.
Hi JohnABuckley,
- Are you facing any problem on the computer?
Ntsd.exe is a process belonging to the Microsoft symbolic debugger that lets you debug applications in user mode.
As the link below, it says that there is a risk that Norton Power Eraser can select some legitimate programs for removal. You should carefully review the analysis results page before deleting the files. I suggest that you don't delete the file unless you are facing problems with the computer.
