Not able to play the game error parental controls restrict this racing game

Original title: Parental controls restrict this racing game

I can't play a game on my computer.  It is rated E10 +.  Whenever I insert the disc, I get the error message: "Parental controls restrict this racing game."  I use the Vista operating system.  I am also administrator on the computer.  Due to the age of my children, there is no need to implement password protections.  I wasn't aware that there was no set parental controls on my computer.

Just had a conversation with a customer with the same problem.

Found a solution for this:

  • Not able to play the game Metro 2033 on Windows Vista-based computer.

I just installed the game Metro 2033 on my Vista system that uses a 1080 screen.  In fact, I have two identical screens.

The game requires activation Steam and Steam normally will attempt to update the program rather than simply enable it during installation.  This leaves a person in the dark as to what happens during the installation.

It turns out, I use a 3G modem that Steam refuses to support their network of Bit Torrent, so download speed for an update of a concert is around 12 kb/s or 8 hours to make the point on a program that has not yet installed.

After work, I was quite surprised to find that the program would not go on Steam.  He then took a few hours to find out that there is a solution, that I could load the game by running the executable file that had been installed in the directory Steam for Metro 2033.

Unfortunately Metro2033, when started this default way a unknown screen resolution.  Thus when the game is started from the Steam directory nested, one gets a message "out of range" on the display of 1080 and nothing can be seen.

Short of launching the game out, I tried the game again, to my great joy, the second run displays a safe mode issue and I ran it in safe mode.  It is quite an exciting game and I played it all night.  However, I had also contacted support original THQ regarding installation problem/solution.

Then I fell asleep.  The PC was on.

The next day, I played the 2003 Metro game again, but I entered in some difficult areas of the game, and I had to reload the saved game.  After awhile, I opted to exit the program.  Later, I started the program, but this time I inadvertently clicked on the Metro2033 icon who had installed Steam.   In my solution, I had pasted a link to the directory of Steam under the original icon and had pressed the wrong button.

Of course, the first thing I saw, after playing the game for 12 hours, was "out of range".  I opted to return to the office...

... However I couldn't come back on the Vista desktop.  I have a 7000, and even Microsoft Entertainment keyboard by pressing the buttons of Windows or Media center wouldn't let me come back to the office.

The day before, I needed to do this that I've experienced to workaround to start getting and I noticed that the only way I could get on the desktop to run the Task Manager to kill the out of range on my screen message has been to press the Media Center button.

Once the Media Center menu on breaking the subway 2003 menu I could then enter the office and use the Task Manager.

However, the next day when I inadvertently started the STEAM version, and again, the screen is become black and says 'Out of Range', I found that my system was stuck in this loop.  No way to get in the Manager of tasks at all, not even with the Media center button on my keyboard.

Now the background of my question.  When I was forced to start my system again, I noticed the normal BIOS screen and the bar of Vista with Vista is loading, then the familiar sound of Vista boot, but now NO SCREEN at all on startup!  Now, something had inserted a driver in my Vista start which forced my display say "Out of Range" from the start of the desktop of Vista and Vista computer has not yet noticed this.  Normally, I would think that they claim that the screen resolution is wrong and put it on, instead, nothing else than the out of range message rigid or flexible boots.

Original title: can someone tell me what happened here? Metro2033 and steam game.

I checked by plugging my second monitor.   The system has Safe Mode startup and I was able to do a restore of the system from the previous day to evening to return to the office.   However, I am quite confused as to what happened.  How the Metro 2033 problem "out of range" migrate to Windows startup by running an update of Steam?

I use the latest service pack for Vista.

It seems that the STEAM snuck in an update and then everything worked fine.

    Hi mate

    There is advice on aticfx32.dll.
The file belongs to the driver ATI Technologies Inc. Radeon DirectX 11.
    He pilot s graphics card

The games are not known to me, but regarding the error message, it seems that there is a problem of compatibility between game and driver GPU
Therefore, I recommend an update the display driver

  • Not able to play the video created with camera

    Microsoft ADPCM format (2)

OK I got a new camera and when I try to play the video on my computer it gives me Microsoft ADPCM Format (2) no idea where im stuck and I went on the microsoft.com site, and it says its for windows 7 {(j'ai windows vista) so what im asking is is - anyone know where to download safe?} otherwise im going to get rid of him

    Hello HG143,

    ·         What is the Format of the video file you are importing and try to play?

ADPCM, commonly referred to as a form of compression, cannot be downloaded from anywhere. It is a type of compression. The error indicates that one of the files you're trying to play does not support this format, and you may have a missing codec.

Find out what is the format of the file you play and make sure you have the codecs for this file. Here is an article that will give you information about the Codecs.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/codecs-frequently-asked-questions

It could also be as possible that this could be caused by some of the corrupt codec. If you have any third-party Codecs installed on your computer, I suggest you uninstall the Codecs and check if you have the same problem.

original title: program programs application Applications compatibility... SIMS 2

Hi, I had all my games sims 2 on my old laptop to Windows, and they worked perfectly well. However, when I installed them on this laptop, the game would always plant or "Finish". A way to solve this problem? Suggestions? Help. Thank you

    Hi Ellie,

Could answer you a few questions:

    1. What is the exact version of Sims 2 you wish to play in Windows 8?

    2. which version of the operating system did you have installed on your old computer?

The Sims 2 games are not compatible with Windows 8. You can go through the link for your reference.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/win8/CompatCenter/ProductViewerWithDefaultFilters?TempOsid=win8&Locale=en-us&TextSearch=sims%2B2&Type=Both&CurrentPage=0&TotalPages=1&ShowCriteria=0&SortCriteria=Relevance&Compatibility=Unknown&LastRequested=14

So I suggest you to install the game in compatibility mode and check.

Follow the steps to install in compatibility mode:

    a. right click on the driver installation file and select Properties and then tap or click on the compatibility tab.

  • DVD playback, not able to play the

I used to be able to read the DVD as well commercial, but also of fact at home with Windows Media Player.  Now no DVD won't play.  What has changed?  Have I turned off something inadvertently perhaps, or am I missing something that I need to download to play it again?

FWIW... Win XP cannot natively recognize Commercial
DVD video... it requires a DVD decoder.

If you could play before commercial video DVD...
do a system restore to a time before this started
    may be your solution.

Or you could buy a DVD decoder at the following link:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Info about DVD decoders:
    Plug-ins for Windows Media Player

Or you can download and use one of the following freeware

    (works on XP/Vista/7)

    Media Player Classic Home Cinema

    (works on XP/Vista/7)

Or... you can try to download and install one of the
    Following codec packs.

(FWIW... it is always preferable, if you create a system restore
point before installing any software or updates).

    * Proceed at your own risk *.

  • Not able to play the slideshow in Lightroom CC 2015.6 on Windows 10

I have two graphics cards on my 8900 Dell with Windows 10: Intel HD Graphics 530 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745, 4 GB.

The problem is that my slide show won't play. I tried to disable the GPU acceleration, but it does not help. It seems that Lightroom has access to the graphics card Intel:

    > > Info graphics processor:

    Intel(r) HD Graphics 530

    Check the supported OpenGL: past

    Vendor: Intel

    Version: 3.3.0 - Build 20.19.15.4331

    Renderer: Intel(r) HD Graphics 530

    LanguageVersion: 3.30 - build 20.19.15.4331 < <

It could be that the Intel card will not work, but I can't try the NVIDIA card to see if it works better in Lightroom. I downloaded the current drivers for the two adapters.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

I have disabled the Intel card. It works sporadically. Sometimes it works and other times it does not. I tried the two keeping the market and turn off the GPU acceleration.

I'll work with it for a while and see if it still works.

    Thank you.
