My cd rom is a HL DT ST RW/DVD Gcc 4481 b in my Dell desktop computer. I had nothing else problems with it and have fixed/resolved all but this one, it won't yet recognize or read no matter what disc I put in.  I had checked the registry problems, there below any listed above?

There is a known No Disc error associated with the elements first 13/13.1. The Adobe fix is the removal or disabling of the OldFilm.AEX file. Let us determine if this applies to your situation.

  • CD-ROM drive does not all discs.

Well, today I bought a new wireless router, and I had run the installation wizard. I opened the CD-ROM drive, insert the disc, and then closed and waited. After a few minutes, nothing. I opened and closed several times and still nothing. I put another disc and it does not read or the other.

Can someone explain why the drive is not working or read all disks? I spent $70 on the router.

The drive does not has nothing to do with the router. You are able to read one of your usual cd? Have you tried a cd lens cleaner? If it will read something other than the disk, there is a lack of drive (in this case, sigh...) or other Setup has detected and blocked the autorun and the setup.exe for some reason any. This you can check click with the right button on the device and choosing 'Explorer' and not 'open '. If it shows you the files on the disk, right-click on the setup.exe file, click Properties, and make sure that you have permissions to run the program under the Security tab. • Tecra A5: Publisher 2003 is running slowly and not all images will display

I have a problem with the performance of publisher 2003 when the default printer is set to an aculaser Epson C900 since a laptop Toshiba Tecra A5.
The editor runs slowly and has not all images. This works if the default printer is set to a different printer.
This problem does not affect other mobile brand.

Publihser maybe sort of speak to the printer driver and clash with another application or installed driver for the Toshiba.

    Hi Simon

You will be very happy if someone can give you a precise answer. As far as I know, he has no problems known with Microsoft products.

If you see the Toshiba download page you will find instructions for facilities document stating the software preinstalled on your device. It is really not known to me that some of them can cause this strange problem. I recommend contacting Microsoft support because they have more experience with own products.

Sorry but I have no other comment on your topic.

    Good luck!

  • Second hard drive broke off today and after that reattching the XP Pro disc will read the current files.

When you try to open the XP disc prompts you to format the drive.

How can I get XP to recognize the current files without loseing no information?

    Hi FeedUsFajitas,

-Is the hard drive is detected?
-What is the brand and model of your hard drive?
-What, exactly, is a transcript of the error message that you receive?

Method 1: Check if there is a problem with the device.

If you have another computer that is working properly, plug this computer to see if you encounter the same problem. If you have the same problem, there could be a problem with the unit.

If you believe that your device is defective, contact the manufacturer.

Method 2: Run the troubleshooter from the link given below:

  • Satellite A60-302: CD Player read DVDs and CDs but not burned discs

I have a Toshiba laptop: Satellite A60-302 and I have a problem with the cd player. It can read DVDs and records I buy but it will not read burned discs (even the ones I burned with the portable computers own burner). Only from time to time, he will read a burned disc.
I tried to clean the eye of laser of cd players, but it did not help.

Anyone know what could be the problem?

    Hello

This sounds like the CD burner doesn't burn CD correctly.
You suggested that you used different types of CD.
In the user manual, you will find a list of compatible media.
These media has been tested and it works correctly.

But if this happens with all CD, so possibly the drive cannot work properly and only a replacement would solve that problem.

  • My CD/DVD will read DVD and my os drive but do not read the CD or audio

I recently restored my hard drive and now my cd/dvd will not play audio discs or software.  It will read DVDs and my os drive, but that's all.  any suggestions?

    Hi John,.

    · Do you remember all the recent changes on the computer before the show?

    · What is the service pack installed?

You can follow the steps listed in the link below: how to troubleshoot common problems that occur when a Windows XP-based computer cannot read a CD or DVD: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321641

  • My CD Rom won't read all disc types

My CD Rom won't read all disc types.

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\0001\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE
