not enough options for the SSD drives?

I intend to buy a desktop XPS 8700 special edition. I am disappointed that it doesn't give options for this model - for hard drives, only "2 TB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive 6.0 Gb/s + 256 GB SSD"-which is obviously a good combination, but for me, I think that a smaller SSD drive would be nice. "" Otherwise, I like the rest of the system. A friend who built his own PC says it has installed an SSD of 128 G and it is sufficiently large with Win8, MS Office, Photoshop and other large programs installed.

So it of just a comment, is not a problem, but I hope that Dell would offer more options, including a drive to 3 or 4. A Dell technician suggested going to road work stations - but when I looked there, I was a little confused on the readers - workstations all seem to have several readers, probably for Raid configurations, which is something over my head and on my needs.

Or is it a good idea to have a lot of free space on the SSD drive?

Hi Hellogoodby,

Thanks for your comments. It isn't that much of a difference in cost between the 128 GB and 256 GB SSD. Dell is probably buying in bulk from the right and customer demand now, most people want 256 GB or more. You are absolutely right that 128 GB is plenty for the OS and applications. I have a 250 GB Samsung Evo and have used less than 50 GB for the operating system, office and all my other apps.

  • Cannot open the illustration. There is not enough room for the window; increase the area of document and try again

    Hello

I'm under Illustrator CS6 on a Mac version 10.10.3. I created an Illustration and I accidentally did very little to save and close the window. Now whenever I open the file I get the error "unable to open the illustration. There is not enough room for the window; increase the area of document and try again. "This problem is specific to this file only - I can open all other correct files, and anyone who tries to open that particular file on a completely separate machine receives the same error. I read all the posts of people having the same error message, but their problem is different from mine because my problem is specifically limited to this file. I've trashed preferences, hidden and shown the toolbar Application and an open framework of other files and makes them great as possible, has the file open on the file menu, instead of double clicking, and none of these methods work.

    Can anyone help?

Thank you so much in advance!

Well, problem solved. For future users with this problem:

Open a new document in Illustrator

  • HP Split x 2: not enough space for the Windows 10 update

I have a Split of HP x 2 (64 GB SSD, drive hard 500 GB) running Windows 10.  I recently received notification of an update of Windows 10 version 1511, 10586.  Trying to install the update, I get an error message saying that Windows needs more space on C:, specifically 8.13 additional GB.

Settings Windows reports 58.9 gb of 59.2 GB already used on C: which is 47.2 GB ' system and reserved.

The update program says that I can use another drive for the update and I tried the built in D: (more than 200 GB free) and an external drive (900 GB free), but the update will fail with the same message outside a slight reduction in the amount required on C: (7.17 GB) of free space.

I had already cleaned useless all the files using the Windows disk clean and have less than 6 GB in applications and data, in order to get rid of everything that would still runs.

All GB 47.2 OS is really necessary?  Any large pieces I can get rid of, or is the only way an SSD upgrade?

    PeSke

Only in the last day or two, MS has eliminated a new update of Win10 who, claim, addresses the problems of people said that they do not have enough disk space for the Nov 10 update and when they provide you with an external hard drive, it will not use it.

I suggest that you are looking for updates and see if it is applied and then retry the update 10 Nov.

    Monkey,

The computer may be running out of physical space required for migration instead of memory needed to actually to crunch the numbers and run the migration program.

The migration process uses more than 10 GB of space on your computer.

  • HP recovery D needsrepairs says not enough memory for the backup

need to know which files can be deleted or how re-branded more memory for this partition without damaging it.

Do not delete anything and do not write something here! And do
do not try to assign any disk space more (it is not called 'memory' on a
    hard drive) to it.

It is a recovery partition; its purpose is to provide what you need
to reinstall Windows if it should be necessary. Anything for her and
    you will lose this ability.

Your computer comes with instructions on how to write its contents
on a DVD so that you would be able to reinstall Windows if your drive is dead.
Which should have been the first thing you did when you got the
computer, then do so immediately as soon as possible.

And another point: backup to a second partition is by far the
form of backup is the lowest. It's better than no backup at all,
but barely. I do not recommend backup a second not removable
hard drive (or worse, a second partition on your hard drive only)
because it leaves you likely to be simultaneously the original losses
and backup for many of the most common hazards: severe defects of power,.
nearby lightning, virus, attacks even the theft of the laptop.

In my view, secure backup must be on a unguarded and removable media
in the computer. For backup really secure (required, for example, if the)
the life of your company depends on your data), you should have several
generations of backup and at least one of these generations must be
    stored off-site.

My computer is not used for business, but my personal backup plan
use two identical removable hard disks, I alternate between the two,
and use Acronis True Image to create a complete copy of the primary
    drive.

I also use a 1 GB USB key pair to make more frequent backups
my most sensitive data (for example, financial information). For this, I just
    Drag and drop.

  • Not enough space on the hard drive

When I try to put a 8 Gig file in my hardrive it is said that there is not enough disk space even if the hard drive has 15 concerts

free space left. Can someone please help me im trying to put it on my other laptop and the hard drive is FAT32.

    FAT32.  There is your problem.

The largest file a FAT32 formatted hard drive will be accept/pick-up is 4 GB less 2 bytes...  8GB is too large.

Format the drive with a different file system, convert it to a different file system or use the file on another drive with a file system that supports the individual files of this size.

  • Illustrator CS6 - cannot open the illustration. There is not enough room for the window. Serious questions!

    Dear Adobe,

Please correct the following problem or offer a final solution for people to implement (for example, by using a startup script). We (or the company that I type this mesaage to) bought several official Design & Web Premium CS6 packages. There is a very annoying problem with Illustrator where it gives the error here under. I am the maintaner of computers here and I searched for hours and hours to fix this annoying bug in Illustrator. Or maybe that's not even a bug but a fault of design simple programming.

Designers who work with Illustrator here are hired to design content. Not fixing computer related errors. But it is such an annoying error, where even I can't come up with a solution. I tried the scripts, maximizers window, setting file resets, reinstall etc. It is also very annoying when you spend 3000 euros on products Adobe may yet call someone if you have a serious error that is impractical (like this). I understand you don't want to give telephone support to use repeatedly fool rquestions but bugs like these frustrates people who have to work with your software.

Please Adobe, stop frustrating people who just want to do their work.

Please come up with a definitive solution to this annoying problem where already several discussions on many forums were made for. Make it an option in the settings as "always expand the work area regardless of the size of the last. Or create a simple startup script that we can put in the scripts folder. It doenst really of importance, just do something and keep your customers happy.

    Best regards

  • Not enough memory for the DB free music please 80 MB

Hello try to start push-button starting Sansa e280 the only thing I get is not "enough memory to free DB music up to 80 MB.

When I try to connect to the Windows 7 computer, download message "unrecognized", also get a if you asking panel wants to reformat. Is there a way to free the memory some how. Sort of the substitution of the error message?  Thank you. Lexandr

It is perhaps not necessary to format the device as a result of this error!  It is likely that you have simply a corrupted FAT (File Allocation Table), or a corrupted file.

First of ALL, try this solution before you delete your music, because it can avoid having to reload your music.

  • Port channel is not an option for the Destination RSPAN reflector Port

    Hello

The trunk of our N3024 and N2048 is a channel port LAG (m 1).

When you set the destination to distance type VLAN, it ask Destination Port of reflector which I guess must be the chest. 1 Q. Among the registered interfaces, in. interfaces are not an option.

    Why? How to proceed now?

    Thank you!

I just checked and the switch will not let you set the destination to a vlan remote without going through a reflector port. The only thing I can think is to run another line between switches and use it as a reflector port. Or get rid of the channel port.

  • Why have I not an option for the color themes to download?

I created and saved a few shades but I don't have the option to download them under "Actions". It's the same thing when I explore samples done by others

The download feature is no longer available.  Creative cloud libraries is the mechanism that adobe uses to share assets between applications.  If you do not have a CC membership, it's doable, but not too easy.

Option 1: You will have to copy the RGB, HEX.  and paste the values into the application you are using.

Option 2: If you have CS6 or earlier, you can use the "Kuler" Panel to access the 'public' colors and use them in your application.

I hope that answers your question.

  • HP EliteBook 8730w: replacement of SSD for the boot drive not recognized

I'm trying to install a Samsung SSD 840 EVO 500 GB instead of the original 500 GB HDD in my Elitebook 8730w (product no. VF889PA #ABG). The 8730w has the latest BIOS (F.20) installed and that is running Windows 7 Professional 32-bit (fully patched).

When it is connected to the laptop through a USB adapter, to clone the HARD disk image. the SSDS works correctly. Cloning through data Migration Samsung is reported as a success, and the image of the C:\ drive occupies approximately 153 GB. The image of the disc does not include the partition of 1 GB dedicated to HP_TOOLS, due to a known limit of the Samsung software supplied.

When it is installed in the HARD drive Bay. the SSD is not recognized as a drive and does not appear in the list of startup options. The available boot options only shown are the DVD or a network boot.

would be very grateful for any advice on the steps required to successfully install the Samsung SSD as boot drive.

    Hmmm.
Honestly no, I'm not happy with this one. If it was my machine, I'd be a little concerned about whats the corner of the street. In view of the age, is not surprising really, things wear out over time, the mere fact of electronics.

Search through everything you have posted, all photos, pdf, all the text double checking. I am absolutely puzzled as to what happened. If you 100% does not reinstall the hard disk between the posts above where no HARD drive is detected in the menu boot options for the post below that where the HARD drive is detected in the same menu. I would say that you have a problem with either, the ssd, the computer motherboard laptop or the small connector on the sata port, I think on these is integrated on the motherboard, so it seems that your advice is doubtful.
If his works now, great... but be aware that your machine can fail at some point in the near future. And it looks like a defect of the motherboard, other things are probably waiting to fail.

There is no reason whatsoever your laptop must not have seen this ssd at first startup. A HARD drive is a HARD disk, if its compatible sata, then it will work, no doubt. When he is not on an older machine, its probably a sign of a faulty component.

Looking through your bios options, I recommend the following.

On startup options, get rid of internal nic pxe boot, that will only slow your machine at startup as it will seek for a network bootable device. This is the message that you get at startup saying Media Test Failure, this page is preventable with this option disabled.
Less built lan/wlan switching on enabled in the options of the terminal, also change. This means that if you use wifi at home for example and you decide to plug in a cable network directly to the router to speed up the connection, it will not pass if it is not defined, you will have to do it manually. I work in a large company and the number of people who have this option is unreal. They all assume when they are docked they will on the wired connection.

Because we are here too, if you ever have problems with a flickering screen, first thing to try, is disable the ambient light sensor which is just below this option of switching. Its fine on normally, but its quite common on 8560p for this causes a flickering screen.

Hope that helped. Good luck in what you decide to do with the machine
