  The battery in my menu task notification icon disappeared about 2 weeks ago... I tried to turn on the hidden, icon but it is grayed out and could not click on that I am the full administrator and not on a network of group work or school. I use the laptop for very simple tasks, so I should not have group policy. I went to Device Manager and battery information says that I have a Composite of Microsoft AC adapter battery, a battery of method control compatible ACPI Microsoft, Microsoft... I did not perform any task in there because it seemed a little daunting and Im unfamiliar with this area of the computer as my knowledge is limited.  I have also noticed recently that I have installed Windows Mobility Center that has the power option. May - so that it affects the missing icon? I feel a bit silly to post this question but I've searched the forum and was unable to find the right answer to my problem... Can someone give me some other advice I could try... Thank you!!

  Also, run the command SFC /SCANNOW. This will check and repair if necessary all of the critical Windows system files.

  Click on start / all programs/accessories then
  Right-click on the command prompt option and select "Run as Administrator".

• What are these "notifications" that resemble emails?

  I am on El Capitan and in Mail, as usual, I send and receive emails, but I also get, in a vertical column on the right side of the screen, a list of "notifications" that carry the icons of mail, but never appear in my e-mail system, in the garbage or in the "junk" mail folder I looked at some of them and so far they are harmless ads and alerts for obscure reasons and would probably go directly to the trash, but who decides that? Why they come and go independently? Should I ask Earthlink instead of Apple?

  You can take a screenshot of this column for us?  Use SHIFT + command + 4 to draw a rectangle around the selection you want to the screenshot.  The cursor turns into line of sight.

  OK, then click on the orange button Firefox, go to modules, then Extensions.

  The toolbar must be visible in there with its menu. If it doesn't have a menu, simply remove it completely and look for an alternative that you can configure.

  Throughout the day and night, I get notifications that my friends are coming and offline. I don't use Skype often and do not need to know when they are online. Is there a way to disable this option? It drives me CRAZY and I couldn't find a way to disable the notifications on the other.

  Is it possible to recover the files that disappeared?
  I got a folder 'Images' missing that contains my photos of 6 years, and I'm desperate to get back them.

  I accidentally drag and drop my pictures folder in a database online "Dropbox", but because dropbox offers only 2 GB of data, my rest more than 2 GB worth of images were not sync and consequently lost my computer.

  Is it possible to recover it?

• Generation safely notification that emits a sound custom installed

  My application needs to read a custom (specific sound which is subject of the application) when it alarms.  Since there is no stripped of notification settings control which would allow me to install the mp3 and set it as the default notification, I resorted to the construction of a custom notification and the consequence, based on the example of Notifications.  However, when the notification is issued from my background thread, there is no way to detect the keys (since this cannot be done in the background), in order to stop playing the sound.

  My questions are the following:

  1. What is the best way to approach a sound packaging custom notification so that the user has normal BB experience, including the silent power all sounds press a key?

  2. in case I do is on the right track, can you think of a way to get a notification that a key has been pressed to cancel playback of the sound?

  For the life of me I can't figure out how to create instructions that disappear when the field is selected.

  I don't know gray education clear or info sample that goes inside the field and once the user clicks on the ground, the instructions disappear and they can enter their information.
