Does anyone know what Adobe recommends as a professional between first and Speedgrade workflow now that the link Direct to the first 2015.3 of CC has been eliminated?

I guess they let us back to an older manual method using EDL or DPX still sequences of images as shown here:

Direct working relationship must be made directly in first Pro must be done in the Lumetri Panel now. Most of the features offered by live link is now directly in the application of Premiere Pro, workflows should be smoother and easier for those who wish to participate in these functions.

Direct link offers a limited feature set for publishers who want to color grading. This set of features has been moved to the Lumetri Panel. SpeedGrade, the application, still exists for colorists are seeking to use the tool for its advanced feature set.

If you missed the whole SpeedGrade set of features to be supported by Direct link instead of our sense of the course, or any other application that you think could improve the workflow, you can certainly submit a request, if you want.

    Im a little confused as to how it should run a basic workflow classification of images that will go in Premiere Pro.

    Raw footage before a rough cut of grade?

    If you rank images after a rough cut by opening SpeedGrade & selection of images, when recording done this car get ingested in Premiere Pro (this is not the case for me)

    What's confusing me is the fact that Premiere Pro & Speedgrade don't seem to work more closely together through the direct link. (understand that maybe it's better for the pros)

    They a big chunk of things with us when the version 10.x of 2015.3 came through... Remove the link Direct process where SpeedGrade could open a project file PrPro. What left us with is either using the Lumetri in PrPro Panel or EDL export out of SpeedGrade, or go with an XML export using say Resolve. When the 'official' processes, at least. There is a 3rd party solution it's much easier, faster and elegant... and I will mention that below.

    -L' workspace from the Lumetri in PrPro panel color is pretty cool... for what it can do. It's a mashup of Lightroom UI and colorist quasi tools under the hood. He can do some nice stuff on sequence by sequence. For smaller projects, this is a solution viable even once you know how to use it. Especially if you are using an external control panel, such as the ripple of tangent, which makes the process much faster and much more intuitive to do.

    However, if you need real shot in scenes, multiple secondary on a certain clips, or have 100 clips to the rank, it breaks down or is just too slow to be profitable. I show you how to create a sort-of-especially for the shooting, but it is much slower and less accurate than shot-caller in SpeedGrade or resolution. Stacking of instances of Lumetri or through the "main" clip or on adjustment layers works to get additional secondary & effects, but... also add much and you severely hammer your playback performance.

    -Release of SpeedGrade of PrPro EDL is a release of 'old' style and requires that you export an EDL (edit decision list file) which is then opened by SpeedGrade and choose one of the two methods of work in SpeedGrade. (There are also several fussy settings that must be correct before importing the file into Sg, or it simply rejects the file/process).

    1. The first creates a file 'flattened' within the PrPro and export of this possibility, and then import this file as well as the EDL in Sg. SpeedGrade uses the EDL to align the points 'cut' between the clips to the sequence of return in PrPro, to allow you to grade and knit to dissolved & such. You may not include securities and the lower third of the flattened file. After classification, you export the SpeedGrade file import into PrPro and then use to replace this track 'flattened' in your project, such that your titles and other effects & such on the other tracks are now properly displayed and used.
    2. The second is to export the EDL PrPro, and then import that, in the Official Journal, use the media in Sg Panel to access import clips/various media project and hope that Sg 'sees' them all properly and can automatically "conform" them in the project. You may need to do some in keeping text books (selection and including files).

    -XML to use a different application of ranking, say Resolve, is to export XML from PrPro, collecting the media in a particular folder for easy consistent within the will, openness, import the XML file, then add the media used in the process of the process in line with determination. Once completed the classification, you export a file off to bring in similar to the above listed export EDL file PrPro and replace your chronology of base with this release.

    Colorists figure indicating an ad with clips from 70 to 100 that will be '' similar '' in an XML file will be from 30 minutes to two hours properly "compliant" within the will. This moment is just considered part of the cost of doing business. Literally. Charged at the time, of course. Better editor work done to prepare the trimmed project within the determination, the less time they pay for the wizard to load & preparation of the project for the colorist.

    This above is the official method we have to work. EDL and XML export process is of course still all heavily used in "industrial" situations, where an editor is in a House after and the colorist in another... or really, even within the same House after. They take time and are a bit complicated especially if you work as a one-man show, where you can spend the time to prepare a project to make your own consistent in the application of classification, then finish the "round-trip" PrPro for final assembly work and export.

    For especially small shops, Direct link was... heavenly.

    There is, however, a way to always use the "shape" of the process of link Direct with most of the projects, and it's a very small 3rd party app created by another user of SG and mentioned on this forum. It is discussed and linked to in this thread of Sg forum:

    What enforcement... open it on the desktop... drag and drop a project of the 10.x PrPro file built 2015.3 or 2015.4 on the application... it automatically saves and increments the file in a new project file, the conversion of 1 a character in header of the project file so that Sg 2015.1 will 'see' the file as a version 9.x and work with it.

    Do your work within the Sg, then save this file when it is done. Drag and drop than even the file on the app and it CONVERTS... new economy/auto-increment of the file, change this ONE 1 return character as well as PrPro 10.x will see the file as native file and work with it without having to convert it into a new project file.

    There were several hundred downloads, and the only problem I've heard of so far is that comps AfterEffects can fritz. Well, there is a way around that, already used by many editors I know who systematically Ae comp work for projects PrPro: rather than including a model of Ae in a sequence, they make the Ae but export work "comp" directly from Ae in the codec they use for their project, and then replace the original item by this export of Ae on the sequence itself. Typically, it plays easier back and exports with fewer potential problems anyway. More... If you want to redo the comp in Ae, simply open this model even once, your new work and another export or replacement operation.

    With the panels of the ripple & elements, there are much more of my little projects which may remain within PrPro and where Lumetri works very well. However... a marriage? UH... No. All the shot-matching and secondary and stacked effects and such that I'm used to using in Sg can be done in Lumetri... but much slower to accomplish, and by using stacked Lumetri which slow down playback visibly.

    So... I use the two Lumetri in PrPro and if necessary, novel of Patrick and delicious little program also operate at the breast of the Sg without EDL/XML and flattening/export/consistent/round-tripping in this way much longer.

    What used to take hours and hours to import (each file) to generate peak (each file) files is now instant pp

    my CC PP now works as it should

    My link Direct to SpeedGrade first now is the speed at which launches Speedgrade, which is fabulous as well. He used to take the same hours of first direct link,.

    My pace after resolving my PP is 29.97 fine and not the big decimal extended

    Older plugin with the new first CC 2015 packages

    I'm under first CC 2014 with older versions of several packages of plugin like BCC7/8 and Boris FX Continuum. It is my understanding that these old plugins do not work and will not be migrated when you install the first CC 2015. Does anyone have any experience with this situation?

    Also, is there a way to keep the first CC 2014 on my system intact while updating for first CC 2015? At this time the new 2015 CC replaces the current software residing on the system.

    If you click on Advanced Options before installing 2015, you have the possibility to leave the old installed versions.

  • Keyframes in the projects to link Direct first

    I tag mewifranzi in this post which added keyframes in Speedgrade 2015 on a direct link project 2015 first.

    I've sampled adding keyframes in Speedgrade 2015 after a Direct link between the project from first 2015 and I crashed, I snuck out beach balls, but I managed by adding keyframes to a mobile mask through a sequence of dng. I was able to return the first sequence and looked at the rank of the mask move in the clip. I failed to send the design to Speedgrdae and obserbed keyframes in their saved state.

    I do not recommend add keyframes to Speedgrade 2015 after direct linking first 2015, because it is very tax on my computer. Regarding the card of this computer system - it includes many computers on both platforms and include a lot of graphics cards.

    Some would say to add nuance and do the first masking. Some would abort 2015.

    What we would like is problems with keyframes to address also. I would like to be able to add keyframes in my creative projects related directly, but for now, I'm looking for the ability to add keyframes in Speedgrade .ircp projects, make out, and then import the clips made with keyframes in first. Note: I sent classified Speedgrade, adjustment layers back in first and additional mask on the front.

    If please, talk with your voice and do not worry about what language type you mewifranzi like you had more trouble with images keys and then myself.

    This last method of nesting works best and I will now follow this workflow. Although I do not click on a command which says nest, I guess it's his definition. And when I place the clip in the timeline from first with the "insert and replace sequences such as nests or individual clips" button active, clip on the timeline icon is identical to the original, with the exception of the effect of lumetri and the fact that until I have there is no effect of movement never applied, "replace".

    So, I'll now direct linking edits multicam clip as a sequence distinct in Speedgrade, without the path, and then direct a backlink to first and nesting in the multicam edit sequence, using "replace" (hold the alt key with the left mouse button pressed and drag the original clip selecting).

    Also, I disable Speedgrade extended while keyframing 14 point feathered masks which allows my version of 2015 to maintain the same RAM usage - as opposed to the expanses of the RAM max crash of the launch.

    In the process of learning SpeedGrade, I just watch a video on the Adobe site called "the adjustment of the Premiere Pro sequences in SpeedGrade" (https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/tutorials/videos/premierepro-speedgrade-integration-cc.html?product=speedgrade & path = fundamentals).

    At 04:30 in this video, the authors said that the command send to SpeedGrade in Premiere Pro creates a file .ircp, as well as a folder of files to .dpx on the order of 2 GB for each 8 seconds of footage. In my first Pro project there is no command "send to SpeedGrade. It is a 'Direct from SpeedGrade Adobe link' order however; but this does not create a new .ircp file that I can tell.

    So, this means that this video is obsolete, that the command send to SpeedGrade he no longer exists, it has been replaced by the command of link Direct to Adobe SpeedGrade, and that users no longer have to worry of racking up massive records and heavy, .dpx files when you work between the two applications?

    'Send to SpeedGrade' was an old and inefficient order in CS6 and has now disappeared. Direct link is like say name a new method without interest or DPX files, is a direct link between the first and SG, where Pr serves as executives for the SG in the background, just and effective.

    I can open the SG of start menu/desktop computer and I can open the PP project in SG very well. The PP project contains 3 deadlines and I take one I want without any problem. Returning to the SG PP works fine as well. It seems only thing doesn't work does not automatically open the PP file and selecting the correct timeline in the Official Journal of the project.

    I had a glance at the "C:\Users\john Bishop images\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\SpeedGrade\8.0\logs\SpeedGrade.log ' but it is not updated when I try to use the link Direct from PP. command It updated when I invoke the start menu/desktop computer SG. Note that none of the other newspaper, the files are updated either (Plugin Loading.log, Database.txt Trace and Debug Database.txt). All these get updated when I run the desktop/start. It would appear that SG is not yet known.

    I uninstalled the SG and the PP and re-installed (all in the directories by default) and everything seemed to go OK but no change.

    I also added 2 political profile the NVIDIA Control Panel, just display a message when loading SpeedGrade.exe and another for a slightly different message when loading SpeedGradeCmd.exe. SG invoking the desktop/start causes the SpeedGrade.exe message to display. Using the 'Direct link' PP file option does not display anything, reinforcing my thought that SG is just never called from PP.

    Lumetri Panel/workspace in PrPro is designed as a quick Fixer & able to mainly simple elements you may need to. And it has some limitations so built-in types experienced low editor/colorist can't screw up at all times of their videos. If this tool has everything you need, so it is very convenient. You do not need to learn a lot of ranking 'thought process', just look at your scopes & your program monitor.

    If, however, you'll need to tell secondaries 'Key' on some shades at certain levels of brightness/saturation to change just THE color, hue, brightness, saturation data, or a number of other things more important to the image, then SpeedGrade would be necessary. For me, I use the Lumetri Panel on the simple things, but... as Jim pointed out, if I want to hit secondary or make major changes, I'm more the Sg. Because after I learned that the app rather... unique... minimalist... UI, I'm actually able to move quicker on things over there than in the Lumetri Panel.

    SpeedGrade is not the same as applications other colorist/ranking, didn't say the vast-toolset of determination... but link Direct saves a TON to prepare sequences & projects on XML/EDL out and return & tel. If you go to work with her, I suggest strongly to e-book by Alexis Van Hurkman "Adobe SpeedGrade."... Getting started» It is still CS6... BUT... It covers quickly and directly how SpeedGrade works and how to do things you want to do, better than anything else I've seen. The big change is in the CC versions using the Direct link that you don't have any EDL input/output, and as all the scenario changes you make through PrPro, both the chronology controllling/replacement parts of Sg is grayed out in a project of direct link (directly using a project file PrPro). The interface... different color... is almost identical to the versions CS6.

    In addition, there are some good programs on service tutorial lynda-dot-com, and some that are quite useful on SpeedGrade in AdobeTV that will give you the look more recent Sg and Di-link process. Maybe you spend a few hours in watching & playing around, but once you get this thing is pretty easy to use.

    I do not recommend having a ramp... a block of neutral gray tones will generally from left to right black (0) to white (100) that you can put on a timeline, see to the Sg, and then look at what is happening where when you change what... so that you get a feel for say overall "initial" three color wheels/luma sliders , which left elevator control, controls gain way Gamma and right hand do... and you need to see that the elevator is * not * the shadows... and then, when you change moves on the shadows, mediums and highlights and always looking three combos of luma/color controls, now what region they change? What control on how these controls affect the image data pivot controls provide?

    It sounds more complicated than it needs to use, really... you just can't guess what they are doing and being puzzled at the first/frustrated when things do not respond as you expect. A few graphics and several simple explanations & examples... and you'll be off and running.

  • SX20 and link ISDN with TC6

    Hi guys,.

    I recently upgraded a SX20 and link ISDN to the new TC6 and after the upgrade, I can't make ISDN call.

    I can see and manage the ISDN link from the SX20 configuration web page, but the status of the ISDN connection is: error, SIP not saved.

    I use H323 network and I don't use SIP between SX20 and ISDN link and with the old version, I could receive and make calls. Now when I try to dial the ISDN using the new interface TC6 endpoint indicates that it does not find the ISDN link.

    Hi Adrien, Valentine's day.  Theres something happens with outgoing enabled on the link and the Codec for this, and we have two CDETS opened on them.  There are always SIP service is enabled on the Codec with link and link itself.  Codec uses IPV6 local links for the link itself.  Even if the sip xstatus on the codec has its inactive etc, the codec message still SIP REGISTER to the device registration link.  Link runs a FWD SIP process that handles the request.  Sorta like a mini SIP registrar if you want.  Codec will send the message to REGISTER using link-local IPV6 address.  Example of message is less than 200 Ok.

    I removed my own addresses, so you get the picture here.

    It is the same for the link.  Link will send REGISTRY as well to himself.

    Even if your using H320 as outgoing Protocol call, messaging between the codec and the liaison unit is still SIP as the outgoing call is still SIP of the codec for the link even if you chose H320.

    You can see all happening all by running: Journal ctx sippacket debug 9 and connect the output to see the messaging back and forth between devices.  This is why the Service SIP on the codec cannot be disabled.

    The outgoing enabled on both devices and it records not as what Adrian has met is odd. So the question has been filed and is under investigation.

    These are new, so the visibility may not be there yet.

    If you see a problem with the link is not not able to register, check to see if outgoing SIP are enabled on the link.  If so, turn it off and start.

    Do the same on the codec as well.  Disable outgoing SIP and restart the computer.  There may be some cases, you do not see this, as the investigation continues with the bug above two ID's

    (1) transitions and titles are not part of the "Dynamic Link" between Premiere and After Effects-, they will therefore be included in the After Effects project when you click on ' replace it with after Composition Effects. You will have to re-create them in After Effects.

    (2) you get only Clip Mismatch warning when you insert a clip into an empty timeline. If you already have one or the clips in the timeline, then the warning appears.

  • Linking projects with their event in iMovie 10.1

    I have an iMac OS x 10.11.2 and using iMovie 10.1.

    In my library of events, I have the list of events and in the projects window, I can see all the projects.

    But I can't link a project specific to the event.

    Before when I had a posted event, if I scrolled to the top of this event related projects were visible.

    Now when I scroll to the top of an event, the projects I made that relate to this project are not visible.

    How can I define which projects come from what event?

    Apple changed 10.1 quite dramatically.  Projects is no longer resident in events, but now there are sectoralcurrently.  (In the package of the library that they are now in separate folders with subfolders in the folders of the event).  After a few game, I found the following-

    A project can use clips for any event in the library (as before).  However, there is a new category - clips stored in a project.  If you drag and drop an item in a project timeline or import a video clip for "Media project" the clip will not go in any event, but will be linked to the project (and deleted if the project is deleted).

    The 'MEDIA PROJECT' in the libraries pane displays all the media used in the currently loaded project - events, a new item stored locally in the project and other libraries of the application (iTunes etc.).

    I know since the release of CC 2015.3 there were other frustrated by not being able to use Speedgrade.  Not only no longer be able to use it, but not being able to work in or export older projects.  I'm one of those people.  I saw in the forums that others have understood how to return to an earlier version of first, which is compatible with Speedgrade.  Can someone please send the simple steps to get there?

    Open creative cloud and click applications, scroll down to find additional Apps and click on applications (highlighted in blue). When the drop down menu opens, choose the view previous versions.

    When previous versions available apps are listed, scroll to the Premier Pro and click install, you will have the choice of installation.

    You will have problems in the construction of a 99 X system for this budget. You need 32 GB of ram if you do that will be a large part of the cost with DDR4 right now. If you have a room on the X 99 budget would certainly be the way forward. The 5960 X is the best processor out right now but $1100 will probably push your budget. The 5930 K would still work and a much better price for your budget. I suggest: 970GTX with this budget as well. Forget the Xeon V3. They are out of your budget and not worth the price with this budget in mind. You can get a system much better with the I7 Haswell E chips.
