  I wanted to share a few problems that I am having with the new NSZ - GS7:

  (1) the volume buttons / mute sometimes do not work initially. The rest of the options will work including changing channels on the directv box, but unfortunately the volume/mute need a warm welcome. It will be 2-3 minutes after pressing a few other buttons before the volume and mute from beginning of work.

  (2) the box can sometimes freeze and the only way to make it work again is to pull the plug and let it reset the device.

  User experience issues:

  (1) you cannot set a record easily. You can search for the program, the TV app opens with the search. All seasons appear and it will say when the next coming episode is shown. You choose to save and it will be either tune the channel, then I have to find the show on directv guide and hitting record.

  2 if I go to the program I would save on directv guide, the process became a) click star b) registration of program c) so that it again you have to hit the record new program d) star. This should be two clicks, but it became 4.

  (3) no off for directv box button.

• How to play movies from my pc on NSZ - GS7

  On my PC, when I open Windows Media Player, I went to the stream, and I gave permission to access NSZ - GS7 to play media from my pc.

  But when I go to the NSZ - GS7, I don't know where to go to see the movies on my pc to play on my TV.

  The feature of the media player you are trying to use is called DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance). • Unable to connect to internet tv (NSZ - GS7) to wifi

  Hi, we bought the sony internet tv NSZ - GS7 to the United States. I'm trying to use it in India. But I am not able to connect to my wifi. But I was able to connect to an unsecure wifi which was available in one of the neighbors (not sure whose wifi is). I am also able to connect to my phone book & mac I bought in the United States to my wifi. So is it something I need to change in the internet tv device? I checked the support page and checked my router configuration. My wifi channel has no overlap with no neighbors channel. MAC filtering is off. I changed the security from WEP to WPA/WPA2. But I am not able to connect to it. Please help me.

  Hi Angela, thanks for your response. I totally forgot this post. I also had a hard time finding my post too. Sorry for the (very) late reply.

  It detects wifi network. But when I select the network, he's trying for a long time - during which he shows the status as "obtaining IP address" - but it fails. But when it fails, it shows no errors. He just try to connect again and the same thing happens again.

I bought this player online, the initial Setup was easy... connected wireless to the network, combined with distance and sound and picture was fine and applications/internet access has been fluid. months later, I moved the player to the original connection from the tv to another TV and then tried another, then two more. the same problem on all the TVs were as follows:-plugged the HDMI out on the drive to TV-connected the player to the wall outlet power source and changed input on TV by HDMI. THE RESULT... the SONY logo appears on a black screen for about 10 seconds then TV shows NO SIGNAL. exactly the same problem on every TV. I did the Ctrl + SHIFT + BACKSPACE thr remote to reset the player, but it does the same thing... no black screen with the sony logo seconds then the no response the television signal. Help, please.   Yes I know I gave, resistance is futile, as they say, but I advanced and bought the remote the other day and it came today. The pairing was child's play and he even gave a quick tutorial on how to search with him. After the tutorial, it restarts the machine and I can say that it is so much easier now to research via the voice instead of typing each character.

• Possible to connect the BDP-S560 to NSZ - GS7?

  I'm trying to connect the Bluray Sony BDP-S560 drive to my Inbox of Sony NSZ - GS7 via HDMI.  I tried a variety of cables and a variety of resolutions on the Blu - Ray player without success.

  Image HDMI does not work or it works intermittently.  When it does not work, I see a flashing green screen.  When it works, it's usually when the Bluray player is set to 720 p and NSZ - GS7 is set to Auto on the resolution.

  As I said, I have used generic HDMI cables, like Monster HDMI cables brand and may not properly configure the zone to work well with the Blu - Ray player.

  I am trying to accomplish the impossible due to incompatibility between the NSZ - GS7 and Blu - Ray players or the NSZ - GS7 defective?

  Hello Jason,

  If the HDMI device image does not appear, change [HDMI] (American English) / [setting HDMI] (British English) - [Advanced video setting] in the camera settings.
  Also, make sure that the Quick Start menu option is set on IT.
  If there is still no image, stop and then TURN the Streaming Web Player and Blu - ray Disc player.

• Heres one for the experts nsz - gs7

  After having been a "WD" guy for a long time, I decided to make a change and bought the nsz - gs7. I must say that I am very happy with it.

  I was able to easily beat the limit of 2 TB disks hard usb and attached 2-3 to record to my unit.

  But here's my problem, how to 'see' my hard drives from my computer windows laptop? Now I have to unplug my drive hard usb Sony nsz - gs7 and hang it in my laptop to add multimedia elements.

  With the WD, I was able to move the contents of a disc on drive and my laptop to one of the readers.

  Any help with this would be greatlt appreciated.

  1. Turn on the TV and make sure that it is optimized for input to which is connected the multimedia network drive.
  2. Turn on the network media player.
  3. Wait for the home menu to appear on television before.
