Thank you!
Apparently, you have installed OrindaBuild extension. Do you use it?
If you don't know what I'm talking about, it is a 3rd party software the trial from the Orinda software you probably pushed by the center of update.
Better disable (uncheck) in Preferences - Extensions.
Have fun

ESCR does not work in SQL Developer Version 1.1.3 build 27,69
Hi all
I'm using Oracle SQL Developer Version 1.1.3 Build 27,69
Select count (*) ABC
count (*)
100
using desc / describe table name gives error
abc desc
ERROR:
---------------------------------------------
ERROR: object that there is no such thing as abc
1 selected lines
I am able to run select on the table but not describe desc. I tried suffixing with the schema name, still the same error persists.
Please provide a workaround solution
TNXWell 1.1.3 is old enough.
The best thing to do IMHO is updated to the latest version, this will also allow a load of new features and fixes.

Developer SQL 4.1.2.20 Build HAND-20, 64: I am not able to drag-and - drop a file from Windows Explorer into the SQL Developer Editor window if the name of the file or the path includes sharp «#» Unfortunately, my main directory structure contains a ' # ' in one parent folder names and I use drag-and - drop all the time... it is, I used to. :-)
I am running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit with Service Pack 1
It wasn't a problem in the previous version of SQL Developer 4.1.1.19 build HAND - 19.59.
Thanks to study deeply and providing a repeatable test. It is a very strange edge cases. Particularly interesting is...
This same issue exists for JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 12.2.1.0.0
After my tests in SQL Developer 4.1.2 the question seems to be, that say you, trying to open any file (I tried sql, xml, and pkb types) by drag-and - drop from Explorer Windows to a publisher of target opened on a XML file with a symbol of hash somewhere in the specification of the file it is.
First of all, as a solution, I thought that I could recommend that you drag-and - drop since our view > files browser rather than Windows Explorer. Which avoids the question and even you will descend on the Start Page tab, any worksheet or another editor must be opened before hand. However, there is a completely different problem with that: try to close the last tab of the XML Editor open blocking the entirety of the product.
As you do not declare it against a release of the Early Adopter, where our team connect the bug, the standard procedure is so that you can open a service request with the support of the Oracle. My research did not turn any latest bug as this connected against SQL Developer or JDeveloper.
Edit: In fact, just double click instead of using drag-and - drop from view > files avoids questions, name incorrect both hang at the end.

Cannot establish a connection with SQL Developer
I'm trying to use SQL Developer 1.5.1 build HAND-5440 on laptop Vista Home Premium x 64 mi. When I go again and try to create a new connection: nothing happens. No Panel opens up or anything. I have the last jdk installed. I downloaded developer sql several times without making any progress. Am I missing something? I should clarify that I did not run install everything, I just run the sqldeveloper.exe.
Thank you

AddVMOption - Duser.language = in
AddVMOption - Duser.country = USEspero your ayuda.

SQL Developer to crash at startup.
I made several attempts using different versions of SQL Developer and different versions of Java on the machine with Microsoft Windows 8.1 Build Enterprise (x 64) 9600.
sqldeveloper - 4.0.1.14.48 - no - jre.zip 235,385,812
sqldeveloper - 4.1.2.20.64 - no - jre.zip 329,066,864
sqldeveloper - 4.1.2.20.64 - x 64.zip 399,957,535
sqldeveloper64 - 3.0.04.34 - no - jre.zip 154,645,086
sqldeveloper64 - 3.2.20.09.87 - no - jre.zip 182,052,469
sqldeveloper - 4.1.3.20.78 - no - jre.zip 331,401,110
Example of process:
(1) files extracted to sqldeveloper - 4.1.2.20.64 - no - jre.zip
(2) run sqldeveloper
(3) window appears asking you to JDK home - click 'Browse '.
(4) access to the Java/jdk1.8.0_65 - click on "select a folder.
(5) confirm the path with "OK".
(6) beginning of the program - the start screen flashes on the screen, but for a short period of time (tenths of a second).
(7) nothing else is happening.
(8) for execution sqldeveloper again not questions about the JDK. All splash screen (once again just flash).
(9) in the Manager of tasks (details) I see for about a half second the process 'sqldeveloper64W.exe '.
I've tried combinations of different JDK and version of the SQL Developer - some versions display warning on the supported Java versions.
The latest version I managed to run (ignoring warning) 3.2.20.09 has been building hand - 09.87 using java jdk1.8.0_65.
No luck with all versions 4 +.
I also tried to collect debugging information as described in http://www.thatjeffsmith.com/archive/2012/06/how-to-collect-debug-info-for-oracle-sql-developer/
First attempt was unsuccessful - screen displayed for the second half and then again in line with command prompt is displayed in the CMD window.
I tried several times and finally was fast enough to press ctr + pause/break in this short time.
I tried it with versions 4.1.2.20.64 and 4.1.3.20.78. The latest is here:

Concerning
Location of these files can cause problems? It does not prevent SQL Developer 3.2 work.
Apparently. Director of the company may shed some light on why this is true. In practice, you can try to force the SQL Developer user settings in a local folder that is writable, discutΘ in: problem starting sql developer 4.1.1.19.59
For convenience, here's an excerpt. Use your 4.1.3.20.78x64 installation. Choose a path to a local folder, even one on a flash drive. Should work.
Add something like this line to the file sqldeveloper.conf to your installation:

Hello
Everytime I open SQL Developer (4.0.0.13) in addition to any worksheets that have been opened on the previous closure of the product, several other worksheets are also open. When I click on these heads of tab of spreadsheets they close automatically and does not display any content. The range of worksheets, tabs package to tabs on trigger for the initial plug-in and even sql scripts that are stored on the file server.
Is there a config/settings/history file I can edit/delete to avoid this problem? I searched my C drive for specific text in unwanted these worksheets records, but with no joy.
My apologies if this has been addressed already. I take a look through the forums and have also searched the Internet for a solution, but nothing helps.
Thank you very much
It's a bug that has been fixed. Get the version 4.0.3

Hello
I've seen a number of discussions on this issue but did not answer that worked for me.
I use the latest version of SQL Developer 4.0.2.15.21 - x 64 on Win7 x 64.
It is unziped to c:\oracle\sqldeveloper. (I don't have a d: drive install on).
It fails to start, is 20% then stops.
I still have an old 4.0.0 version which works, but would like to make use of the latter.
All the answers about why it's a failure and how to fix it?
Thank you!
Owen.
Nuke SQL Developer Directory for this version in your directory of Application data for the user of your operating system - should be under roaming profiles and start the SQL Developer.

SQL-Developer EA3 crashed during startup
Hi, I start sql-developer on my Ubuntu 13.04 and it crashed with errors:
"A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment: SIGSEGV (0xb) at...".
Version JRE: Java (TM) SE Runtime Environment (7.0_45 - b18) (build 1.7.0_45 - b18)
"Java VM: Java hotspot 64-bit Server VM (24, 45 - b08 mixed mode linux-amd64 compressed oops).
I tried "ulimit unlimited-c" before starting to enable writing core dump.
But if I run sql-developer as the user root, then it start normally, so I suspect it's insufficient privilege when I start with normal first time user. I changed the owner of sqldeveloper & Java to myself, but it didn't work (which was owned by the root previously).
I do not know how to analyze the dump or the error log file created during the accident, but I don't want to start it as root user. Thus, anyone who can give a solution would be appreciated.
There are a few related threads when SQLDev running as root "solved" the problem on Ubuntu... looks like the final solution came down to this
unset GNOME_DESKTOP_SESSION_ID
Try this, or search the forums for the other 2-3 threads around this topic.

After some testing today with a new installation and plugin subversion in the latest edition of data Modeler this error happens with every start of the tool.
Have removed and unzipped the installation once again without changing the error.
After that, I started with another user on my computer, it the error does not occur.
Is there a system folder to remove the configuration of my personal like jdeveloper and sql developer?
I lose the most important features, for example. have no browser and cannot open a design.

Hi Torsten,
Thanks for reporting the problem. I logged a bug.
You can view together as "list of system types" directory to "preference > Data Modeler"-probably no longer exists. I guess that the setting for this directory is empty when you start SQL Dev as a different user.

SQL Developer running slow, perhaps caused by Java Virtual Machine
Hi all
Currently, I am working with SQL Developer 1.5.1 connection to an Oracle 10.2.0.2 database and it takes about 10 minutes for Developer SQL load. I believe that the problem may be due to the Java Development Kit. I've upgraded to the latest version of last week.
Versions running under Java settings is:
After reviewing other posts here, I ran SQL Developer with the console and messages that are as follows:1.6 1.6.0_15 http://java.sun.com/products/autodl/j2se C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe true 1.6 1.6.0_07 http://java.sun.com/products/autodl/j2se C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_07\bin\javaw.exe true 1.4 1.4.2 http://java.sun.com/products/autodl/j2se C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2\bin\javaw.exe true
I also use a photo of the Web Site, which is not related to my work as Oracle, but for it's photo uploader also uses Java, and which is slow, that's why I think that the problem is based on Java. I would say that the problem occurred in the last two months but has gotten much worse in recent weeks. Developer SQL is slow at times, especially when I used another application and it's just in the background.Exception initializing 'oracle.ideimpl.searchbar.SearchBarAddin' in extension 'S earch Bar': Kind regards
TimTwo things here at first:
* JDK:
If you do not remove one sqldev used before, he always uses this one. You can change yourself in \sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.conf:SetJavaHome C:\Archivos programa\Java\jdk1.6.0_10
Be sue to point to a JDK, however, not a JRE that you mentioned above. Update 1.6.x generally better performance than 1.5.x update.
* GeoRaptor:
You installed this extension and it's errors. If you don't need or it doesn't work anymore, better to disable it in preferences - Extensions. The NullPointerException in SearchBarAddin is already for several versions, but dev seems not very motivated to solve. Just ignore it.
If you still see exceptions after checking the JDK and GeoRaptor, or sqldev is still useless, do come back and give some details about the memory usage.Hope that helps,

Cannot modify most user Source in SQL Developer
Hello
I created an Oracle 12.1.0.2 database container called DEVELOP and responsible for 11 GR 2 one hundred packages and 600 tables with hundreds of pages of APEX 5.0.
I did it using IMPDP and applications run well in the 5.0.2 APEX I just tested all applications.
Each version of SQL Developer (4.1.2 4.1.3 and the version that comes with 12 c for download) does not allow me to edit any package, procedure, function, or type.
All I see is "CREATE or REPLACE.
I can see all the tables and data.
I saw some problems that appear which suggested using 12.1.0.2 if that happen which I use.
I create a window using the SYSDBA account for the container, then:
Select * from DBA_OBJECTS where owner = 'LSDB' and object_type = 'PACKAGE '.
I see all of my packages.
I create a window in the account for these objects, called LSDB can:
When I run select * from USER_OBJECTS where type_objet = 'PACKAGE '. I see all my packages, for example.
When I run select NAME DISTINCT from USER_SOURCE; I don't see any source at all code, even if I can right-click on each package of SQL Developer and download the entire package in a window and modify the set.
The source code is somewhere else, simply not visible to the process tree viewer that seems.
I don't see many discussions on this issue for 12 c 12.1.0.2.
Because it is a test of 12 c, I gave all the roles and privileges for the LSDB account.
I am new to 12 c and Developer SQL 4.1.x. and I'm not a magician to the inner workings of the Oracle or SQL Developer, this behavior seems very strange to me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Bernie
Jeff,
Here is the right solution to this problem.
This problem was caused by a failure to completely put the PDB container $ SEEDS at 32K extended varchar2 objects.
The pluggable DEVELOP database has been upgraded to 32K VARCHAR2 objects correctly, but APB$ SEEDS was not.
This resulted in an Oracle ORA-14696 error when you create a new database plug-in, DEVELOP2.
Once the PDB database $ SEED container has been properly upgraded to 32K VARCHAR2 objects using the following code, Developer SQL displays all the source properly, and the new database plug-in DEVELOP2 could also be created.
You can close this topic and thanks for your help.

SQL Developer 4.1 stuck on loading for Mac
Hi all
I'm currently under Mac OSX 10.11.1 (El Capitan) and I downloaded SQL Developer 4.1. When you try to start SQL Developer it gets stuck loading, shown below.
JDK, I am running:
Java version "1.8.0_45".
Java (TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_45 - b14)
Java for 64-bit Server VM (build 25.45 - b02, mixed mode)
According to me, that it points to the right path of the JDK. When I run SQL Developer sqldeveloper.sh I get the following exception:
