  Hi all
  
  I have a problem in OBIEE 10g to I use the MySQL database as datasource direct to the server of the OBI and I have a column in a MySQL table which was designed as the DECIMAL data type (18.0).
  This column is used to measure a length, and values are included in seconds (without decimals), in the form as:
  "1200"
  in the MySQL database.
  
  After the import of the MySQL table associated with the repository of the OBI, the OBIEE converts the DECIMAL data type column to the DOUBLE PRECISION data type automatically.
  
  My goal is to reach the values in this form, certainly in the sense of the term (not at the time!):
  hh mm ss
  
  In order to accomplish, I tried to change the format of column with the ROUND function:
  ROUND (db.table.column / * 3600 * 2)
  
  The problem is that it doesn't work well if values can be divided with no rest for example
  original value: 7200
  new value (ROUND): 2
  
  In the case of my example:
  original value: 1200
  new value (ROUND): 0
  It's false, because 1200 seconds are not equal to 0 hours, I want to see two hours of _0.33333_ OR I much prefer more _0 hour 20 m_
  
  Anyone have any ideas?
  I tried to make a view of database and importing that type of CHAR data in the database, but is not the solution too, because if I filter BI app or try to make a SUM the BI would drop errors...

  I get the error using repository variable date in filter expression. I use the formula below

  filter (with the HELP of Fact.calls"Sun Time".) ("' Fiscal months end date" = VALUEOF ("month_start"))

  I am getting below error

  The formula syntax is not valid.
  [nQSError: 10058] A general error occurred. [nQSError: 43113] The message returned by OBIS. [nQSError: 22024] A comparison is performed between incompatible types. (HY000)
  Publ. SQL: SELECT filter (fact. Calls by using "Sun Time" ". Fiscal months end date"= VALUEOF ("month_start")) 'call DATA.

  Then I tried the below format I still get the error

• OBIEE - new view just created. Instant results in 'view data' - slow responses

  I created a view of a table with a long data type, so a function has been used to convert to varchar type. When I execute a select statement with this in Toad or query tool results come back instantly, and when I press 'View data' in obiee they show in 3 seconds. Then I created an answer and put the two columns in the view of the report and he ran so he comes to see the columns. There are 30 000 REB. It takes five minutes to list them. Is it possible to get it to run faster please?
  
  I'm actually just simply wanting to calculate the sum on them, but this takes 5 minutes also. I expected to just list people instantly well.

  Have you used this datbase opinion that has been created in RPD in the physical layer by accessing the properties of the table and use SQL and write your review.

  Apply a guest on one of the attributes of your report, so you can filter the data in it and you will get less data out of it that gets you in no time.

• OBIEE retro-design to go from SQL Server to a data warehouse

  I am new to modeling for data warehouses. We currently have an OBIEE environment put in place where the source of data was the transactional tables in SQL Server. The SQL Server data should be moved to a warehouse of data non-Oracle and I need to produce a logical data model for the people of my company warehouse. Unfortunately, the SQL Server data is never copied, so I based the model from the logical and physical of OBIEE diagram/relationships.
  My question is in what concerns the validity of the following relationships to be used in a data warehouse based on what is currently in OBIEE. When I have this model through Erwin, I wonder if I'm away from base in relationships (modeling, don't not personal):
  
  Dimension 1 has a 0:M with axis 2
  Dimension 1 has a 0:M with 3 Dimesion
  Dimension 2 has a 0:M with 3 Dimension
  Dimension 2 and 3 Dimension have a 0:M with 1 fact
  
  Through the use of pseudonyms and others, this works in OBIEE. Will this work as a model of data in a data warehouse environment?

  I think that you started with the wrong foot. I suggest search you Google 'kimball methodology' and have a reading a few articles. Your DWH model should not be based on your transactional tables. You should ask your business users 'questions' they want to answer in the DWH. Then model your DWH base on it. You cannot model a DWH without knowing what questions you must answer. For example, if your users want to know the sales per day and per branch will be a fact of sales with a sales volume measure joining two dimension of branch and time dimensions. The number of facts will depend on the questions you need to answer, the data type, and the granularity of them.

• Is OBIEE 12 c - possible to upgrade repository 11g patterns?

  What I've read, it seems you need create new patterns, and I thought that's where the Planner data were maintained in version 11. Is there a way to update patterns in place? I am clearly missing something here.  I am referring to the DEV_BIPLATFORM, patterns etc. DEV_MDS.

  They are. All upgrades of 12 c are entirely "out of place" it not there no upgrade in-place-la from 11 g to 12 c. If you want to move the data, you must do it yourself.

• OBIEE Mapviewer 11.1.1.7.1 cannot change the data source

  I am trying to configure mapviewer on our environment and after

  by clicking on configuration

  Add the DB details

  Save & Restart is updated the file xml but not displayed on the data source tab.

  But where as the other details of DB, I am able to add without problem, then if I click on change by selecting the data source to add/edit the details required to DB I get following error.

  Source of data editing is not yet supported. However, you can delete and re-create it with the new settings.

  and on the Management tab is not showing me any option to add the new source of data manually.

  I think that 'Master-Detail' event impossible to define a variable presentation for these reasons (can there be such a thing as)

  1 variable presentation by definition can be defined by a "prompt dashboard.

  2. a set of presentation on the scope of all reports where as "master / detail" event is for a report.

  3. "Master-Detail" event is for a point of view of a report to meet the selections in other views of the same report.

• One-to-many relationship repository

  When a repository item have a data type = "list" and a type of COMPONENT-component-, is there a way to remove the items referenced all when calling the Set accessor for the list?

  Because we have to replace the entire list and we do not want to keep the old data.

  I see two ways to possibly go about,

  First of all, as you substitute completely the list of itemdescriptor property, so when you set the listproperty for itemdescriptor in your code, first delete this list (which would be a component item type) put cascade = remove its property that is referenced in xml format, and then create the list with the values you want and that you assign this list to your itemdescriptor listproperty

  Another approach I can think in case you do not want delete listtype property is that you can use the type of consumer or the custom property for list of property and override the method for this property setPropertyValue.

  in thing first method setPropertyvalue you can do is get all referenced items associated with this particular list item from the repository id, it is possible via Reposiory query, and then delete the referenced articles and then call the super.setPropertyValue method to set the new values in this listproperty.

  It could be a problem with the schema of the table, run ddl OracleBI\server\Schema\SAEPT.**.sql. Then import the table in the physical layer of the RPD

  Workaround this problem by using the default value provided for creation script table mark of the event, located in the folder:

  \server\Schema\SAEPT. Oracle.SQL

  There are several scripts SAEPT (Siebel Analytics Table Event of the election), named differently according to your particular database.
  Name change column names (defined by the user) of the voting table event to match those of the OracleBI\server\Schema\SAEPT. Oracle.SQL file will solve the problem.

  2. is there an option like what time the RPD has changed? This kind of information that we need is there any option in obiee 10g.
  
  Ex:-some modification RPD column data type, I want to know what time it changed? -I need this kind of information.

  1. it is possible to obtain the OBIEE DPR documentation automatically.

  A. the RPD automatic Documentation is not possible in obiee 10g.

  2. is there an option like what time the RPD has changed? This kind of information that we need is there any option in obiee 10g.

  A. RPD version what dark and deva as suggest you con follow the same way.
