  Look in the Collections Panel - it should be very similar to the appearance of openness.

  By default, the import tool copies photos from Aperture to a new system based on the date of record under images/LightroomMasters. So in your case, it looks like at this treatment of default folder has arrived, and it is because in the import tool Options you didn't him say to leave the photos in their current locations. It also could happen if some or all of your photos had been "managed" opening - is to say inside the Aperture library and not resident or "referenced" in the standard Finder folders.

  Now, you could leave things as they are--Panel files LR is not equivalent to the opening, and that Collections = projects.

  But if you really want your Finder folders to match the opening, you will need to do the import process again and follow the steps here. As long as you have not dealt with the new photos in Lightroom, you can simply delete the pictures/Lightroom and records images/LightroomMasters. So make sure that move you the opening masters so that none of the files are "managed", and make sure that you set the option as shown in the screenshot on the article linked to above.

  If you don't see this error before she disappear, then there is no way to find the message.

  You can disable the GPU in the Lightroom preferences and check if you still get some popups on startup.

  Using Windows Explorer, open the folder that contains your catalog. By default, it is Pictures\Lightroom, and unless you have moved your catalog intentionally, this is where it will be. There will be a file there with the .lrdata extension. This complete package should be removed. Then Lightroom should begin, and it will generate a new folder.

I understand that this data is written (embedded) jpg files, but as an .xmp file beside the raw files. My question is, if I purge the JPGs and do NOT copy the .xmp files updated constantly to my backup drives, and if I had to lose my Lightroom Catalog, all my Lightroom metadata I've added will be lost? Alternatively, Lightroom keeps all my metadata in the catalog file? Is the Lightroom Catalog the location of the "source" of data that are added to the jpg and .xmp file?

  By default, your metadata are NOT written in JPG or RAW sidecar XMP files.

  By default, all metadata are written in the Lightroom Catalog. In addition, there is no way to disable this option, your metadata are always stored in the Lightroom Catalog. So, if you are concerned about making backups and restoring of backups, you must backup/restore photo files and the Lightroom catalog file. In fact, I consider mandatory Lightroom (on a different physical disk) backups of photos and catalog files.

  You can optionally write metadata to the JPG or sidecar XMP files, but this method never gives you a complete backup of all of your metadata. It can be a valuable additional insurance.

  Ive been wrong this shot for days now and have not understood the problem. When I run CS5 on my iMac i7 Quad Core 2.8 it hangs up during the launch.   I'm a bit confused by the present.  Please specify:

  If you start a new project, you can import the clips in the project you are having a problem loading?

  What it sounds like, it is that your project may has been corrupted somehow.  Since you can get opening project closing QT32 server, it probably means one of the references to your source clips is the problem.

  Try these ideas:

  -Start a new project and import the project evil in it.  If it works, you good to go.

  -Offline QuickTime files.  It's simple on Windows-rename the folder (s) they are in.  On Mac, it's more complicated because Mac OS is smarter on the follow-up of the files; the easiest is to copy them and then trash the original (but do not empty the trash).  Once the files offline, open the project.  If the project opens, OK, the message about missing files.  Now create a link to the files until you get a failure.  Once you get a failure, you know that you have either a bad reference in the project. delete it in the project Panel, and then re-import the file.

  -Exit QT32 Server, open the wrong project.  Save as to create a new copy to work.  Now repeat steps on disconnection and reissue of links the above files.

  There is only one file per domain. It is read by a web service call when you view it in the PIA. This allows you to edit files from another server. The only time they will be different, that is if the URL of your entry point to a server other than the local server.

  If the URL of your entry points to the same server as your local file, then the only advantage to use the PIA to modify the file (except easy access), it is that sometimes it will update the properties in memory. Change the file in the file system requires to restart the web server for the properties to reload in memory.
