OCR recognition vs size of file - what's the catch?

I open some PDF documents in Acrobat, then selected text recognition > AA in this file. I was curious about many incorporating searchable text would increase the size of the file. I was stunned to see the greatly REDUCED file size. Can someone explain why the file size decreases in fact? In addition, is their a disadvantage, I should be aware of?

It sounds too good to be true; I have to analyze all my remaining with ticked by default, OCR documents unless it makes the process of scanning significantly slower.

Thank you.

There are several ways to do OCR, and you should check the options you use. The methods have two main variants:

-keep the ORIGINAL analysis and add hidden for the search text. It could make a bigger file, the scan quality can now be reduced for use of the screen, so the file may not be less.

-throw the original scan and replace it with the actual text. Must always be smaller.

You should also consider that OCR is never 100% reliable and consider the impact on you of errors. Good use of OCR for critical equipment includes trained and attentive proofreaders for every word of every page. Or to accept a proportion of errors.

  • Accidentally deleted a dynamic link library (DLL) file and the need to replace one possibly other system files - what is the best method?

I did a system restore to a point before that my main user account has been established.  I had to set up a new user, and then it was suggested that to copy all the data of the user "existing" to the newly created user.  When I did this it's not well at all and some DLL files have been corrupted or deleted or not connecting correctly to the user of your choice.  I actually then did a restore of the system to the last restore point.  However, given that SR does not change the data, I was stuck with the wrong DLL and other system files.  I thought I had stupid test because I had backed up data.  I tried to restore to an earlier point (using Windows backup and restore).  Unfortunately the restore will not work and I get the following error: "a systematic failure of the initialization of the Dynamic Link Library (DLL).  I need to repair or replace the corrupt to get the system back and then protected files again.  I'd appreciate any help!

Creative Cloud files are stored in your CC account synchronized.

Document Cloud files are the only pdfs stored with the sync Acrobat DC system.

The two are separate storage options. However, the DC option synchronizes perfectly with all your versions of Acrobat (mobile, desktop, etc.)

  • When I go to read some files I downloaded (films), I get an error message windows media player cannot play the file the player might not support the file type or is unable to support the codec used to compress the file.what is the answer

I have windows vista media player 11 ultimat.windows. now, I was told to find the right codec... How do this.and where can I get the right codec from.and will it upset my computer in any way.not computer minded.so please tell me slower.

    Hey,.

There might be times, however, when you want to read the content that is compressed with a codec that does not include Windows or the default player. In many cases, you can download the necessary codec on the web for free or for a fee. And, in some cases, the player can automatically use the codecs installed by other reading programs and the creation of digital media on your computer.

If you know the name of the codec or its ID (called a id FourCC for video codecs or a WaveFormat identifier for audio codecs), try the search on the Internet. Often, you can go to the codec manufacturer's Web site to download the latest version of a codec.

    Warning
Use caution when installing codecs that you find on the Internet, in particular some of the free codec packs that claim to include codecs from a wide variety of companies or organizations. Incompatibilities are known to exist with some of the components in these codec packs that can cause serious playback issues in the player and other players, lead to the corruption of the system and make it difficult for Support from Microsoft to diagnose and solve playback problems. For these reasons, we strongly discourage you from installing these codec packs, and recommend that remove you them if you have installed them and you are having problems with the player. Install only codecs, filters or plug-ins from reliable sources, authorized, such as the website of the official supplier. Even in this case, beware: some codec suppliers offer minimal customer. Before you install the components of digital media, set a system restore point. The restore point to go back to the configuration of your system, if necessary.

Install codecs may solve the problem in most conditions.

  • What is the "catch-all for all its imperfections" equivalent in failure-strategy. XML

    Hello

It is in this case the tag equivalent catchAll fault - strategie.xml file

fault - strategie.xml has two sections - Conditions & Actions

    In Conditions, you set several < name faultName = "XXX" > and corresponding < condition >, < test > & < Ref action = "" >.

But is that what I want, how do you define a condition for all types of failures (something like a catchAll activity)?

Lets say I need a unique condition for all its imperfections, so I want to say

    conditions of <>
    < name faultName = * "ALL_FAULT_TYPES" * >
    < condition >
<! - < test > - I do not give any condition of test here, so that it applies for all conditions for this type of error-->
    < Ref action 'ora-human-intervention' = >
    < / condition >
    < / faultName >
    < / conditions >

I searched documentation, articles, but found none.
Only thing I could find is, if we do not give any what < test > tag, which means he's like a catchall for this particular faultName. I need a similar one, defects but for all.
    Receive your answer.

    Hi RaviKiran,

Somewhat similar is the following policy of fault:

    ... to specify the action...

    ... remains...

Basically, you set specific conditions, which means that all defects that are captured by the framework of fault policy fall into this condition.

Spirit: fault-framework surprises flaws in services (external) BPEL, mediator calls, etc. BPEL internal failures such as erroneous assign activities are not taken.

  • DW shows not sizes correct file in the files Panel

    Hello

I use DW CC 2015.1 on Mac 10.10.5.

I notice a difference in file size.

In the finder if I discover a Quicktime move, it indicates the size of the file is 313.1 MB. DW, said that the same file 298,63 MB.

DW displays all file sizes smaller than what indicates the operating system.

I also took a glance on my second Mac that is running 10.11.3 and the same thing. State of Mac OS 313,1, DW on Mac (same versions DW) indicate less large files.

Anyone else notice this? Is this a bug in DW or a problem with the operating system?

I did not pay attention as much file size differences to be honest, because I do not transfer or work with files that large in DW sizes.  However, if you're not a Mac user for a long time, there was an update of how Mac computes sizes of files made back in Snow Leopard (10.7).  I suspect that DW used the other method of calculating file size and not the new method that apple used.  I worry too much on this subject.  The only place I would look at is your host if they have a limit to the size of the file.

Here's an article that explains the change: math new Snow Leopard | Macworld

  • DPS: Judge to use the parameter Raster or vector in the States of the objects when the majority of the page is a photo. What is the best setting for the overall performance?

I am trying to decide whether to use the parameter Raster or vector in the States of the object when the majority of the screen is a picture (with a modest but important legend for children to read). The legend certainly makes it look more net as vector. But does the photo! The raster setting seems to make the lower-res images in comparison. In my first edition of my application, I thought that raster would be the best setting when the photo was the subject dominating the page. But now, after seeing how strong he looks like vector, (but with almost a refresh of the unacceptable time. Perhaps better on the latest iPad. Most of my readers/students in class will use iPad 2 s, which has a slower processor). I wonder if I should go through the trouble of changing States of photo objects that have the type as well to the vector. It doesn't seem to be as sensitive to a re - draw on the iPad 2 (non-retine)

Is Filesize hit if I make about 1200 on these objects range from Raster to vector? (It is a huge, highly interactive history book, so I'm curious if acutally go to vector on these photos would reduce the size of the file) What is the best setting for the overall performance?

I see the freeks screen outside for a bit if you try to pinch and zoom in a vector object (photo) vs raster. Which is disappointing. Does slow down load time/refreshment in frame, which is a little less. I also found that the drop shadows really bad that redraws effect in vector, almost vibrating in a slide show, for example. Thus, in cases where I need shadows, I'm sticking with Raster.

    All tips go ahead?

First 13 items on what operating system? You have 13 to 13.1 updates, using Help Menu/updates to date of an open project?

Your question immediately... assuming you have a NTSC installation...

    1. What are the dimensions in pixels of your JPEG files, and how many of them are there? Depending on the resources of the computer, how many JPEG files, and what pixel dimensions, try to use 1920 x 1080 format JPEG and the project preset elements 13/13.1 first is NTSC, DSLR, 1080 p, DSLR 1080 p 30.

    2. what type of player is has your HD TV?

    (a) if only one DVD, then your destination drive is drive DVD/record/Publish + share with preset = NTSC_Widescreen_Dolby DVD. Video set for display at 872 x 480 after encoding.

    (b) if player Blu - ray, then the publish + share/disc/AVCHD (which are a DVD disc)... can be 1920 x 1080 @ 23,94 progressive frames per second (H.264 1 920 x 1080 NTSC Dolby)

    (c) if the Blu - ray player, then publish + share/Disc/Blu-ray disc... can be 1920 x 1080 @ 23,94 progressive frames per second (H.264, 1920 x 1080 p NTSC Dolby).

I assumed you wanted a product of disc? If your HD TV player takes support other media of the video file, what are the formats on which media supports?

With this information, I will propose Publish + share/computer/specificities for export to files.

Please review, study and give more details.

  • What is the best file size to create an animated logo

I'm trying to animate a corporate lodge for a chart of the opening of a video. Can you recommend what size of files and the resolution is the best? If I can get a JPEG will apply the same specifications of file size.

I consider opening the file in Photoshop, selecting and separating logo in layers by using the layers separately to move together as the logo of the motion.

All your ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help.

That's exactly how I would do it (too).

Applications of paint have wonderful tools to bump-out parts of an image, or to 'flatten' areas (cleaning/denoising artifact jpg)...

size/resolution: depends on the 'action', if you do not zoom in, 1920 x 1080 video hires, is good enough, if you do some z axis fun (fly Thru), a much higher res is needed.

suggestion: If the logo contains the fonts/text or simple forms, I re - who would enact in movement. because it acts as a 'vector' = resolution independently, as in this example:

Difference between material FAT & FAT32?

First, note that there are three varieties of FAT: FAT12, FAT16, and
FAT32. Many people call just FAT16 FAT, because before that FAT32 is out.
FAT16 is the only variety used for hard drives, so just
    The FAT was not enough.

FAT12 (hardly any more used) had a maximum volume size of 12 MB.
It has been used almost exclusively for floppy disks.

FAT16 was used on hard disks (or partitions) up to 4 GB and had a
cluster size which varied from 2 KB to 64 KB, depending on the size of
the partition. It serves almost never again, because almost nobody does
a as small as 4 GB partitions.

FAT32 FAT16 succeeded and has a maximum drive size of 2 TB. His
maximum file size is 4 GB, which explains why you can't copy a file of 5 GB to
it. its cluster size is 4 KB up to an 8 GB partition. Beyond 8 GB the
cluster size develops up to 32 KB.
NTFS, that's what almost everyone should use on their hard drives
today. Its maximum volume size is 2 ^ ^ 64-1 and its maximum file size
16 × 1024 is ^ ^ 6 bytes (much more than the bigger hard drive available
today). Cluster size is 4 KB, regardless of the size of the volume.

I have a disk full of files, and it is in the FAT32 file system. As I can't copy large files (5 GB +) in this player, I intend to fix this by changing the file systems.

    Good! You should.

Apparently, it is not possible to do it without formatting.

It's not correct. To convert to NTFS, use you the CONVERT
command. But first read http://www.aumha.org/a/ntfscvt.htm , because
There is an important question about the size of cluster that is not obvious.

Also note that conversion is an important step, touching everything on your
drive. When you take a big step, no matter how unlikely it is
always possible that something can go wrong. For this reason, there
careful to make sure that you have a backup of everything you can not afford to
    lose before you start.
