ODI: connecting to Sybase

Hi, I can't connect to Sybase in the topology Manager
I use the following driver jdbc: com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybDriver and my jdbc:sybase:Tds:10.44.1.78:5025/csddb URL
on the definition tab, I entered user/password and "Server (database server).
Here, I have a question: what I shiuld enter the field "Server (database server). I tried the name of the database, the computer name, leave blank

In my ODI DesignerI can see 10.1.3.4.5 version
In my manager topology ODI is 10.1.3.4.0

Can you also explain to me how ODI work with JDBC drivers. ODI use the CLASSPATH environment variable? I'm interested in how I can add a new JDBC driver to use.
I downloaded ASE Developer Edition 15. I found there jconn3.jar and \com\sybase\jdbc3\jdbc\SybDriver.class
I understand that this is a new version of com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybDriver
If I add jconn3.jar in the CLASSPATH, I'll be able to use this driver or should I do something else?

Thank you

The error you get suggests that ODI don't end class dthe to which you are referring - try to use com.sybase.jdbc3.jdbc.SybDriverrather as the one that you use to see if a difference. I suggest that you should have stopped and started ODI since putting the jdbc driver jar file in the odi/drivers directory (even though I'm sure you have..)

  • How to connect a sybase database in JDeveloper 11 g with JConnect

    Hello

How to connect database sybase in JDeveloper 11 g with JConnect? Help, please.

    User,

It would be useful that you explained Sybase Jconnect rather than leave us to google.

It seems, in any case, you need to create a definition of the library in JDeveloper, add the JAR of JConnect files appropriate to the classpath of the library and then add the library to your project.

  • Connection tab Sybase shows is not in the new option of connection in SQL developer

    Hello

I do not see a Sybase connection tab in the new connection option in SQL developer 2.1, as it was available in version 1.5

Why is this? How to fix?

    Hello

Have you installed the JTDS JDBC driver still in SQL Developer.
This is necessary before you get the tab connection for SQL Server and Sybase.

You can install the driver, JTDS action to Check For Updates.

    Traceback.

For some reason, it's thinking that ODI runs at localhost:6551.

We tried to manually change the URL odiagent on the configuration page of data management to one of the two correct URL as shown above. We can check the connection test succeeded. After that we ran the load, there always seem to "localhost:6551". Then, we thought probably after that changing the setting that we must restart ErpIntegrator WL managed server. After reboot, we see the default URL "http://localhost:6551 / oraclediagent'. '"

Not sure how to get generated this URL of Servlet ODI. For sure it is not the correct collection of the server/port combination. Please help on how to solve this problem.

    Concerning

    VARA

    Hi Craig,.

It was actually http://localhost:6551 / oraclediagent. Now, the question has been resolved. In a clustered environment, it is expected that the ports are the same on both nodes. In our case on a node, it was 6550 and on the other, it was 6551. So in the registry, it is updated with the latest value of port this is the port on Node2.

Here, he is able to interpret the localhost to the node that hosts the managed server ErpIntegrator. To test this, I kept two servers managed upwards (ErpIntegrator0 & ErpIntegrator1), then tried to check the connectivity to the data management page. He has failed. Then stopped ErpIntegrator1, maintained ErpIntegrator0 no luck. Arrested ErpIntegrator0 and up to the ErpIntegrator1. Then with localhost:6551 ODI connectivity agent works very well.

So, I conclude that the port is same on both nodes. Another finding was if install us a separate stand-alone ODI on the server agent and try to use it on the page of data management that it does not work in a clustered env. Where as in a single-node configuration we can update the host & port of agent oracledi.

  • JDBC Sybase connection - issue of OWB11gr2

    Hi all

We are uning OWB11gr2 on GNU / linux 64-bit. Database is Oracle 11.1.0.6. We strive to connect to Sybase, database is ASA 9.0.

Add JAR files 'jconn2.jar' and 'jodbc.jar"under OWB_HOME, owb, lib, ext.
Restarted customer Control Center Agent and OWB.
Created a new platform to connect to Sybase database.

    Under rental details.

I entered the username and password.
    Port number of the database.

I kept the empty schema option.

    Classroom pilot - com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SysDriver
    URL - jdbc:sybase:Tds:machine - name: port-number/databasename

When I hit the test connection button it returns as a success.

But when I try to import database objects, I don't see any database objects.

After testing the connection (successfully) when I hit the Browse button to get the schema names, I get the following error:

Failure: information accessor java.sql.SQLException:jZ0sj:Metadata has not been found on this database. Please install the required tables such as mentioned in the documentation for jconnect.

What could be the problem? I don't know if this problem is related to OWB or Sybase.

When I use the ODBC connection in the windows box with the same user name and password for the database even I see little tables and views.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Kind regards
    Samurai.

    Hi Samurai

Ah cool, progress... you can dd the "long varchar' type to the platform

Platform OMBALTER 'SYBASE_AS_ENTERPRISE', 'Long varchar' ADD PLATFORM_TYPE
Platform OMBALTER "SYBASE_AS_ENTERPRISE" PLATFORM_TYPE EDIT "VALUES long varchar ' SET PROPERTIES (SYNTAX) ("long varchar')
Platform OMBALTER "SYBASE_AS_ENTERPRISE' ADD FROM_PLATFORM_TYPEMAP 'LONVARCHARL_TOG' SET PROPERTIES (FROM_DATATYPE, TO_DATATYPE) VALUES ('long varchar', 'TEXT')

I have to bug of the fact that the message is bad in OWB (unsupported data type! might be more useful... as you say what it is).

    See you soon

I tried the two version of DB and have the same error. (I did the same for the gateway of Sql Server and it works fine..)

    Anyone have seen this before?

    Thank you

    Mike

    OK I thought about it.

The Sybase I tried to connect is Sybase Sql anywhere and it is not supported by Oracle Sybase gateway.

What I got was rather use the ODBC Oracle (need to install the Sybase ODBC driver) gateway and it works now

  • How to configure details WorkRepository to them in the console of the ODI. ?

    Hello world

I freshly created some interfaces in ODI studio in two repositories named: WorkRep_1 and WorkRep_test and interface test_1 in WorkRep_1 and test_2 in WorkRep_test.
Yet after configured WorkRepositories in the Console of the ODI.

    WorkRep_1:

    WORKREP_1
    JDBC/odiMasterRepository
    SUPERVISOR
    JDBC/odiWorkRepository

    WorkRep_test:

    WORKREP_Test
    JDBC/odiMasterRepository
    SUPERVISOR
    JDBC/odiWorkRepository

I am getting same interface in two repositories when opened in console with different repositories, please help me.

    Thank you

    Shakur.

    Hello

As you can see in both cases, you specified jdbc/odiWorkRepository as URL JNDI to work while you get connected to a deposit in both cases. If the steps you must follow to create Console ODI connections for two repositories:

    1. create a new JNDI with the details of the schema of data base for WORKREP_Test, targeting for your managed server where you have deployed your odiconsole.

    2. then, you configure a connection of repository odiconsole to WORKREP_Test mentioning the JNDI newly created for your WORKREP_Test.

Steps to create the new JNDI:

To create a JNDI, connect to the Weblogic administration Console > go to Services (on the left panel) > Data Sources

You will see the list of configured JNDI names already. You must add one more favorite JNDI for your schema repository work connection. You can reference existing repository work connection JNDI (odiWorkRepository) for the sample of the parameters values.

    Thank you

    Parag

  • ODI interface failed when you use the specific agent but very well with Local (agentless)

    Hello

I just upgraded my 10.1.3.5 at 11.1.1.7 ODI and has encountered some problems.  When I run one of the interface with the 'Local (agentless)' (via ODI studio Designer in which the ODI software is installed, say Server A), it can complete successfully without error.  But if I run the same interface with specific agent (also via ODI studio Designer in Server A), it will fail.  In fact this specific agent I is also located in Server A.  The error message is as below:

Seems once again, some class/jar files are missing.  But I have really no idea this time how to fix it.  In addition, since it is ok with the local agent (no) but fail with specific agent, I think that it is not the problem of the interface, but the problem of the agent (configuration?).  Can someone give me some advice on how to fix it?  Any suggestion is welcome.  Thank you.

Note: it is on the Windows platform

By checking the MOS 1683307.1 Note, I have included the C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\common\misc\11.1.2.0 & C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\common\CSS\11.1.2.0\lib in the extra classpath and the agent works fine now.  THX.

  • ODI-1425: Agent Application is not reachable

A number of changes to the system (backup/restore) took place in our EPM environment, including the patch for 11.1.2.3.500.

Everything works well, but our FMDEE data loading rules for Oracle EBS financials actual failed.  The details of process FDMEE (and Console ODI and oraclediagent.log) report ODI-1425: request of the officer may not be appealed using the http://server:80 / oraclediagent.

So I think that the agent may not be working?  There is no oraclediagent service, but perhaps this is changed?

I can find no error message that says that the agent was able to start.

What throws me is a successful connection of the FDMEE ODI test: workspace > Data Management > Configuration > system settings > profile Type = ODI > button = check the ODI connection.  Result = "connection to the ODI agent succeeded."

Running d:\oracle\middleware\user_projects\empsystem1\bin > status opmnctl EssbaseAgent of the Instance yields: EPM_epmsystem1 is Alive.  But I'm not sure to understand where and how to use this tool.

Running d:\oracle\middleware\EPMSystem11R1\opmn\bin > opmnctl status gives "ORACLE_INSTANCE is not defined.

Running d:\oracle\middleware\ohs\opmn\bin > opmnctl status gives "ORACLE_INSTANCE is not defined.

Running d:\oracle\middleware\user_projects\epmsystem1\httpConfig\ohs\bin > status opmnctl ohs_components of the Instance yields: ohsInstance1649849633 is Alive.

I followed the section of patch 17529887 entitled 'Additional steps for financial data quality management Enterprise Edition'.

Where to look for more information?  Any ideas?

ARG!  This whole problem was caused by this port be wrong.  no idea how/why that changed (guessing one of the many patches we applied).

Thanks again for your help Tom.

  • Using Oracle ODBC HS to Sybase get cursors exceeded max

    Oracle 11 g 2

    Linux RHEL 6.5

    -----------------------

When you use Oracle ODBC HS to connect to Sybase via dblink SYB get the following error:

    ORA-01000: cursors open maximum exceeded

    ORA-02063: preceding line of SYB

When you run the same SQL locally, getting no error.  (The same tables in Sybase are replicated in Oracle).

Increased the max sliders and even restarted Oracle - no difference.  SQL on system tables do not show more than 250 sliders in use yet max cursors defined at 2500.

This error above suggests a problem of cursor max with Sybase?  Or something else?

It can also be a problem with the HS_OPEn_CURSORS. By default, the gateway allows only 50 open cursors will be open to the foreign database. What happens when you set in the gateway HS_OPEN_CURSORS init file = 200?

If it fails again, could you upload to a public file share a gateway (HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = DEBUG) DEBUG trace level?

  • ODI: Error loading the data of HFM: invalid dimension name

    Hello

I am fairly new to ODI and I was wondering if any guru could help me overcome a question im facing. I try to load data from a csv file in HFM. I chose the good KM (LKM file SQL and SQL IKM to Hyperion Financial Management Data), with the Sunopsis Memory engine than the staging area.

To facilitate the file csv has the exact structure as well as the dimensions of HFM applications and has been located in the interface, as shown below:

Column of the source - target HFM column file

    -Scenario
    Year - year
    Display - display
    Entity - entity
    Value - value
    Account - account
    PIC - PIC
    CUSTOM1 - Custom1
    CUSTOM2 - Custom2
    Custom3 - Custom3
    Custom4 - Custom4
    -Period
    DataValue - Datavalue
-Description (no column of the source, mapped as ")

The csv file contains basic members only. I set the error log file path, and when running the interface I get an error. When I open the error log, I see the following messages:

Line: 1, error: invalid dimension name
    ! Column_Order = C1_SCENARIO, C2_YEAR, C3_VIEW, C4_ENTITY, C5_VALUE, C6_ACCOUNT, C7_ICP, C8_CUSTOM1, C9_CUSTOM2, C10_CUSTOM3, C11_CUSTOM4, C12_PERIOD, C13_DATAVALUE
    C1_SCENARIO
line: 3 error: a valid column order is not specified.
    Actual; 2007; YTD; 20043; < entity currency >; 13040; [ICP no]; [None]; 1000; [None]; [None]; Jan; 512000; » »
    > > > > > >

I'm not sure how to solve, as it is based on the interface mapping match dimensions on a 1:1 basis. In addition, dimension in the target column names correspond to the dimension names of application of HFM (that this application has been deducted).

    Help, please!

    Thank you very much
    Jorge

    Dear Experts,

    ODI: 11.1.1.6.0
    HFM: 9.3.3

I also met a similar error as OP.

In my case, the error occurs when I use SUNOPSIS_MEMORY_ENGINE as the staging. If I simply change this staging to the Oracle schema, the Interface will load data successfully to HFM. So, I'm curious on what cause the SUNOPSIS cannot become the staging for the loading of HFM.

This will show in the IKM SQL to the FM data log file:

    Load data started: 3/14/2013 13:41:11.
Line: 1, Error: Invalid dimension name
    !Column_Order = C1_SCENARIO, C2_YEAR, C3_VIEW, C4_ENTITY, C5_VALUE, C6_ACCOUNT, C7_ICP, C8_PRODUCT, C9_CUSTOMERS, C10_CHANNEL, C11_UNITSFLOWS, C12_PERIOD, C13_DESCRIPTION

  • JDBC connection error

I am trying to create a DSN in server v11 of ColdFusion Standard using Sybase jConnect 6.05 driver JDBC connection to Sybase SQL AnyWhere 12 Server (running on another server). ColdFusion was installed on a new server (Standard) 2012 Windows and uses IIS 8 to the web server.

I did everything mentioned on this page (of course, the driver class and other details have been changed) ColdFusion MX: Configure the Sybase jConnect 5.5 driver

When I try to check the connection in CF administrator, it throws the following error:

Connection verification failed for data source: ars_jdbc

java.sql.SQLException: the com.sybase.jdbc3.jdbc.SybDatabaseMetaData.getJDBCMajorVersion () method has not completed and should not be called.

The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: the com.sybase.jdbc3.jdbc.SybDatabaseMetaData.getJDBCMajorVersion () method has not completed and should not be called.

I know that all the connection parameters are correct because I was able to create a DSN on another instance of CF (CF 9) on the same basis that I am creating a DSN for CF 11. Please guide me in the right direction to solve the problem.

    Thank you.

    Milind

Carl Von Stetten and Alexandre thanks for your help.

There, someday I could correct the connection failure. I downloaded the new version of the (7.0.7) JDBC driver and the DSN was able to connect to the database.

I have not seen that error before but there's a doc in support of Oracle that highlights the error ' could not derive local systemCfg format for loading data [ID 1479461.1].
It is not directly related to ODI or problem, but the workaround may help in your case.

I created 2 models in my designer:

HYPERION_MODEL_TEST and ORACLE_SQL_SOURCE, the first has the reverse engineering dimensions ranging from planning and the other is to get the table that contains the members of my size. For the staging area, the synopsis in memory DB is used.

LKM SQL for SQL and SQL IKM in Hyperion Planning is used.

In the interface, I take the source table and the dimension of planning as a target I map the Parent, Alias account: by default, the data storage and ownership of aggregation (Plan1) of the target of the GBA in my dimension table.

All be saved well and when I run it I get the error, clues?

    Cheers, Sandi

First of all there is no interest in using the memory storage engine as the staging area if Oracle is your source, you can also use Oracle as the transit area, the staging area probably will not be used as usual a straight SQL query will be generated.
In your target mappings have also tried setting "run on the staging.

    See you soon
