  You don't need to access the ODI installation on Unix computer for development. You can install ODI on your computer windows laptop and start development, and objects developed on UNIX. Simply connect to the same repositories of unix and windows machines and for that need access to the database, where these repositories are registered.

  I try to install ODI 11 g on my place of work. Currently, we have only a single instance of ODI which is used for production and development. This ODI 10.1.3 instance is obsolete and Oracle stopped support on this version. So, we want to move to 11g for both environments. As I have ever laid my hands on ODI installation, I have a few concerns:
  
  A. does take to update our current version and then migrate to the production?
  B. or should we do a new install of 11g on the production server and just use clone copies of the current master and work repositories?

  Approach paper for ODI 10 g to 11 g migration

  Please go through steps for below * 2nd track *.

  (1) following env source file (IE source xxxx.env)
  /slot/ems3754/Oracle/DB11G/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1
  (2) change to bin directory (IE cd bin)
  (3) to export the schema from database, run the following commands from the bin folder of the Oracle database installation.
  (4) exp /< master="" db="" password=""> =master.dmp FILE
  (5) exp < work="" db="" username=""> /< work="" db="" password=""> =work.dmp FILE
  (6) move the files master.dmp and work.dmp on the server where the database for ODI 11 g is installed.
  (7) we must import the master and work the 11 g database repositories.
  (8) to import the database schema, run the following commands from the bin folder of the Oracle database installation.
  (9) imp / FROMUSER = TOUSER = FILE =< location="">\master.dmp
  (10) imp / FROMUSER = TOUSER = FILE =\work.dmp

  While installing ODI Version 11.1.1.7 version of Windows Server 2012, has a few problems:

  (1) Got op - ups such as below; However, I took over ignoring and installation completed successfully.

  Don't know what these files are intended to be? I downloaded the Version of delivery but do not know why they are absent; Are really required for a complete Installation ODI?

  The question, I got here is that the ODI Agent does not work and more I didn't know the FOLDER Structure of the AGENT under the Oracledi folder. I also found OraclParams.bat file.

  Can you advise why this is different from the ODI 11.1.1.5 version please?

  (3) also, when I test the ODI_Agent; getitng the below error:

  Caused by: ODI-1424: Agent Host or port can be reached using the HTTP://Server:20910 / oraclediagent .

  Caused by: java.net.ConnectException: connection refused: connect

  at oracle.odi.runtime.agent.invocation.RemoteRuntimeAgentInvoker.invoke(RemoteRuntimeAgentInvoker.java:278)

  ... more than 41

  Is it because of the PORT problem?

• ODI installation progresses on the "Specify Agent Details" screen

  Hi Experts,

  I try to install ODI 11.1.1.7 on 64-bit windows computer 7.

  I have already created repositories using the RCU and so I chose the option "configure repositories ' step 6.

  The next screens present all errors and during the screen "The details of Agent", I provided the name of the agent as "ODIAgent" and the port as 20910.

  Now when I click on 'Next', nothing happens and it is not same error message.

  No idea why its not allowing me to take the next step?

  All log file will be created in this step to identify the problem?

  Please provide your inputs.

  Since you have already created the repositories using the remote control, I don't think you have to go for option "configure deposits...." As Prathik02 mentioned, selection option "Skip Repositories" and then continue with the installation, when you open studios, create a new connection to master repository by clicking file > new > master repository connection

  Its better to have the installation of the agent in your local system. During the development, sometimes you may be interested in using the local agent for some purposes of R & D. As you connect the lies of the repository in the server, you can use the agent running inserver in your local system.

• ODI installation error - specify the location of the jdk/jre

  I installed the version Hyperion 11.1.2.2 successfully on 3 servers.
  Now, we have a requirement we want to install ODI 11 g in one of the servers.
  In that, we have installed Essbase administration services, service provider, EPMA, CM, strategic finance.
  
  Now, when I try to start the installation of 11g ODI, it asks for the location of the jdk/jre.
  In command prompt, I specified the path as setup.exe - jreLoc "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Java\jre6", but no use.
  
  In some blogs, I mentioned that we had to define Java home for this. If so, please tell me how to configure java House?

  Your correct.

  I install jdk1.6.0_38 and then given command
  E:/ODI11g/Disk1 > Setup.exe - jreLoc C:\Progra~1\java\jdk1.6.0_38

• Can I change the installation type?

  First of all, I wanted to explain that I'm a total newbie to VMware and I tried to get help, but couldn't find an answer to this, so sorry if this is a fundamental issue...

  When I installed VMware fusion 3.x trial edition of I chose the option to keep windows as an entity separate and not fully integrate it into my Mac.  Now, I want to see what the other option would be (full integration) that I heard good things about this, but I do not see how to pass?

  I have to completely uninstall and reinstall VMware?  If I do this, does mean I have to re - install windows etc?

  1 Uninstalling VMware Fusion does not remove any virtual machines just as uninstall iWork will not delete all of the documents created with it.

  2. There is no need to reinstall the guest operating system to try the differences between the décor if you select more transparent more isolated vs chosen for easy installation.

• ODI installation help

  I'm trying to install the client 11g ODI on the windows machine. I have already installed the server, deposits under Linux, but try to install the studio on the windows computer, as Michael suggested in a previous post, I used the file setup.exe from the disk1 generic file and when I run it from the jreLoc using the following command, setup.exe - jreLoc C:/Home/jre, it sits there for a while as he does something and returns to the command prompt. It has not opened any window.
  
  Advice on how to address this issue.

  Please use location jdk not jre. Ex:
  Setup.exe - jreLoc C:\Java\jdk1.6.0_21

  Hi all
  I'm trying to install ODI 11 g on Windows 2008 Server. The database is a SQL Server 2008. I understand most of the online documentation that I need to copy the JDBC in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 drivers in the C:\oracle\product\11.1.1\Oracle_ODI_1\oracledi\agent\drivers folder. Is this correct? If Yes, when I try now to create a master repository via studio ODI, driver Microsoft SQL Server 2008 for JDBC will appear on the drop-down list?
  
  If this is not the case, how should I proceed with this repository? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  MN,

  You must copy the drivers in USER/AppData/Roaming / odi / oracledi / userlib. You sqljdbc4 driver.

  Once done. Select sql server from the list of drivers and provide that such credentials as required and that should work.

  is it possible to have multiple users work with the same installation of odi? We have a (citrix and VMware) virtualized IT infrastructure where we can have multiple users on the same virtual instance. From our point of view, unproblematic license as we have a covering set literally everything.
  
  One of the problems are the configuration files stored in the odi installation directory (..) «(/ bin).» Is there a way to tell odi to store them in a different location, for example. the user home?

  ODI research in the current working for configuration files directory, for the most part, you would have problems with the snps_login_work.xml and snps_login_security.xml files, but these can be common across all users. (just do not save the name of user and password to the users of the ODI in them).
  How works ODI, most of which is created is stored in the repository in any case, it is only local GUI config of the things that can be stored locally.
  Short answer, Yes, you can, but maybe have to change some config files to make it work.

  I got the same error when I use the Weblogic configuration wizard. But if I use the ODI installation folder configuration script, I managed to create the domain. Can you please try to use [MIDDLEWARE_HOME]\Oracle_ODI1\common\bin\config.cmd to create the domain?

  I did a reinstall of windows xp sp2 when I got an error that says that the installation program could not copy migregdb.ex_ from the cd. Please make sure the disk is in the e: drive and try again.   To the file copy stage of the registry would be game.  It could be a permissions issue, you could mount the drive in a different Windows NT installation type and set the permissions.
