  You don't need to access the ODI installation on Unix computer for development. You can install ODI on your computer windows laptop and start development, and objects developed on UNIX. Simply connect to the same repositories of unix and windows machines and for that need access to the database, where these repositories are registered.

• Installation upgrade memory in the new laptop (E8730w)

  I just got my new laptop and was dismayed to see that I obviously have to install the 2 GB memory upgrade that I ordered.  When I'm ready to install it, I will contact HP technical support.  I'm interested in the big picture right now.  The laptop has installed Windows Xp and Vista, stored on the hard drive.  No matter if I use the new laptop for, say, from the user's manual before as I have added additional memory, or is it better not to use the laptop until I have all of the memory (2 GB original and 2 GB upgrade) in place.  I hope that this process will be no more complicated than to install an ethernet card in a years office 5 or 6.  Where can I get good screwdriver to open the module compartment memory?  From my experience, it is easy band, the head of a screw phillips, especially a small head, if there is no appropriate screwdriver.  I'd appreciate any idea on these issues.

  I don't think that no matter how long you use it before you install the memory. Regarding the screwdriver, I use a 41678 artisan to work on laptops with screws Phillips. It could cost $ 1.69 at any Sears and any tech tools for perhaps $15 will be a very similar small Phillips. You will know if you are stripping it, so stop everything. Memory installation is much easier than to put a PCI on a desk. Relax its all good.

• Dell M620 (VRTX) blade - ESXi 5.1.0 Update 1 installation upgrade to ESXi 5.1.0 Update 3 (latest)

  This morning I did an installation of upgrade to ESXi 5.1.0 Update 1 to ESXi 5.1.0 Update 3 (latest Version) on one of the blades of my VRTX M620 three 3.  I have the same problem that I met about a year, when I tried to update 1-2 update.  I had to go down to 1 update to see the data store.

  With update 3, the data store does not appear on this blade.  I did a scan to see if the data store is present, but he did not.  Also, I restarted the blade which did not help.

  I have to keep upgrading to 3 update due to the necessary correction of problem CBT.

  How to troubleshoot and resolve this problem of my data store does not?

  The original sas megaraid drivers (even installed on the blades of M620 Dell) had to be installed.  It is my understanding that several versions of the megaraid sas driver provided on the Dell ESXi ISO are meant to satisfy the VMware HCL for this material.  However, the more recent does not show the data store.

  • I installed Windows 7 Home Premium with Boot Camp and that you have installed all the drivers. I then upgraded to Windows 7 Windows 8 Pro, because I have a upgrade key and cannot do a clean install. I tried the upgrade of the installer itself, since a 2 USB and flash USB 3 and also a DVD drive. The installation will run normally and it will start in Windows 8.

  But when customize installation reaches the screen, my trackpad and keyboard no longer respond. I tried to plug my USB keyboard and mouse, but they do not work either. I have no choice that to restart the Mac, and when I start Windows again, he tells me the installation of Windows 8 has failed and it will now roll back to Windows 7. So, I'm at square one.

  Yay, I finally installed Windows 8 successfully!

  Here's what I did:
  Instead of install Windows 8 from the file ISO of Windows 8 on Windows 7, I started in Mac OS X and launched Boot Camp Assistant.
  From there I chose the ISO image of Windows copy on a USB key. Then, I chose the image ISO of Windows 8, after I copied on my Mac partition. Then he did his magic, and I found myself with a USB drived called WININSTALL.
  Then I booted to Windows 7, has opened the window of the USB drive and launch the setup.exe
  Voila! Windows 8! With the Apple's Boot Camp drivers installed automatically as well.

  The question, I got here is that the ODI Agent does not work and more I didn't know the FOLDER Structure of the AGENT under the Oracledi folder. I also found OraclParams.bat file.

  Can you advise why this is different from the ODI 11.1.1.5 version please?

  (3) also, when I test the ODI_Agent; getitng the below error:

  Caused by: ODI-1424: Agent Host or port can be reached using the HTTP://Server:20910 / oraclediagent .

  Caused by: java.net.ConnectException: connection refused: connect

  at oracle.odi.runtime.agent.invocation.RemoteRuntimeAgentInvoker.invoke(RemoteRuntimeAgentInvoker.java:278)

  Is it because of the PORT problem?

• ODI installation progresses on the "Specify Agent Details" screen

  Hi Experts,

  I try to install ODI 11.1.1.7 on 64-bit windows computer 7.

  I have already created repositories using the RCU and so I chose the option "configure repositories ' step 6.

  The next screens present all errors and during the screen "The details of Agent", I provided the name of the agent as "ODIAgent" and the port as 20910.

  Now when I click on 'Next', nothing happens and it is not same error message.

  No idea why its not allowing me to take the next step?

  All log file will be created in this step to identify the problem?

  Please provide your inputs.

  Since you have already created the repositories using the remote control, I don't think you have to go for option "configure deposits...." As Prathik02 mentioned, selection option "Skip Repositories" and then continue with the installation, when you open studios, create a new connection to master repository by clicking file > new > master repository connection

• Is Installer-upgrade just make the server? What shell hyperic?

  I installed the Server 3.0 to 3.1 hyperic
  
  I downloaded hyperic-hq-installer-3.1.0-439-amd64-linux.tgz and made a
  tar - xvzf hyperic-hq-installer-3.1.0-439-amd64-linux.tgz.
  
  I then /opt/hyperic/hq/hyperic-hq-installer/setup.sh-mise to level. This upgrade of the server
  Would I able to use this Setup program to upgrade the agent also. HOW?
  I downloaded the agent only and all installed package, but I was wondering if I should?
  
  Also how to pass shell hyperic?  Would I could again use the--upgrade
  with other options to include the agent and the shell
  
  I don't see any mention upgrade documentation to specify anything except - upgrade
  
  I returned and used the setup.sh - full and just choose the hull of HQ to install the new shell. Again could I have updated it with the hyperic-hq-installer-3.1.0-439-amd64-linux.tgz file Setup?

  A note: this has been asked several times. In the future, please see the docs - http://support.hyperic.com/ - and research first on this forum.

  As a reminder, the "-upgrade ' flag is for the server. 'Improve' agent and the shell (really, you're just replacing the whole directory) run setup.sh and install the agent and the shell. The beam of the agent does not have the shell, you must use the installation for this package.

  Its better to have the installation of the agent in your local system. During the development, sometimes you may be interested in using the local agent for some purposes of R & D. As you connect the lies of the repository in the server, you can use the agent running inserver in your local system.

  I installed the version Hyperion 11.1.2.2 successfully on 3 servers.
  Now, we have a requirement we want to install ODI 11 g in one of the servers.
  In that, we have installed Essbase administration services, service provider, EPMA, CM, strategic finance.
  
  Now, when I try to start the installation of 11g ODI, it asks for the location of the jdk/jre.
  In command prompt, I specified the path as setup.exe - jreLoc "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Java\jre6", but no use.
  
  In some blogs, I mentioned that we had to define Java home for this. If so, please tell me how to configure java House?

  I install jdk1.6.0_38 and then given command
  E:/ODI11g/Disk1 > Setup.exe - jreLoc C:\Progra~1\java\jdk1.6.0_38

  My MAC is dead. I replaced it. I have re-installed Creative Suite 3 from CD I own. The CDs are the upgraded version. I can't find the version of the original software that I applied the update. What are my options?
