Office locks upwards and not Windows Server 2008 R2 remote let me reconnect

I was having problems connecting to a remote system with RDP.  The server is operational for several years and is one of the 4 servers identical servers located on the same site.  Recently, one of the other servers crashed I was remoting in a long time so I had to start using this RDP server in.  Once our on-site personnel COMPUTER redirected to this NAT. port forwarding by server, I was able to connect remotely to make some changes, including the addition of a role as a remote access server VPN using the Routing and remote access Server Setup Wizard and removing the component of protection against threats Symantec Endpoint Protection network so that I can use and configure the Windows Firewall.

While working through the Routing and remote access Server Setup Wizard, my locked up and disconnected RDP session.  I was able to reconnect once on-site staff completed the wizard and restart the computer, but once I reconnected it, after a minute or 2 I was even once disconnected and could reconnect not until the server has been restarted.  I presume that add the VPN role affected my RDP access and decided to remove the VPN server role.

Now, I can't RDP on the server unless it is freshly reset, and even then it only allows me to stay connected for a few minutes before the connection is lost and I can't reconnect again until the server is restarted.  A vicious circle; power of connection after restart, only to have the connection dropped and requires a restart to reconnect again.

This server also hosts a database that client systems are able to access for a short period of time after before restarting their connection drops.

I quadruple checked the inbound Windows Firewall rules, uninstalled application anti-virus completely, same goes for as much as duty get their request for removal to ensure each piece of it has been removed, and I always have the same question.

The whole issue started when I tried to add the VPN role.  I can't uninstall and then reinstall the anti-virus repeatedly has not helped either, but as it is right now, I have a server who, shortly after the restart, is unable to communicate. not with the internet, not on the local network, not remotely.   On-site staff are trying their best to follow my troubleshooting over the phone, but he arrived at a point where I will have to find out what's wrong and provide an easy solution to remote, or make a trip to halfway around the world to try to figure it out myself (which would be EXTREMELY difficult/close to impossible right now).

Quesitons:

(1) why would I be able to connect to remote after the reboot and disconnected then shortly after? (Service/application causing the problem didn't start until shortly after a restart?)

(2) why is it not only kill remote access, but access LAN and internet on the server?

(3) what else can be verified to help diagnose and fix the problem?

I did a lot of research on the web but haven't found identical to mine problems.  Is this a new problem or a bug?  I saw information about uninstalling a patch and a seen a fix for the problems of the RDP, but who wouldn't even help LAN and access on the internet server.  This server ran local client local RDP, access to the database access and could have access to the internet for the years leading up to the recent changes and issues.

Edit: The pro I'm remote on the server is a system Win 7 Pro, and the database of customers are also Win 7 Pro.

Correction of the problem.  Turns everything by making the configuration for VPN, incorrect information has been entered in the network link, causing the network to the bomb once VPN service started.

There are several LAN ports on the server, and one of them was selected incorrectly and configured with the incorrect gateway IP address during configuration of the VPN server.  Once the misconfigured for the LAN port TCP/IP parameters have been removed, all was good again.

  • Pavilion p6110t CTO Desktop: drivers for Windows Server 2008 and HARD drive problems

    Recently, I had the hard drive with my OS failure. After replacing the hard drive and reinstall windows server 2008, I seem to have encountered some problems with drivers.  After insalling Windows, I had 3 items in my device manager that not have installed correctly. I could get the driver for the LAN port to work, but I did not get the driver to "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" and "SM Bus controller". After a little research, I believe that the graphics card is a Radeon HD4350. With this information, I still have been unable to toinstlal the correct drivers or the other of these elements. I tried several drivers listed on the support page of the drivers on the HP website, but all fo return them the same error of not finding the right operating system. The link to the driver, I used initially on my previous installation seems is no longer valid.

    Also, I can't access two additoinal hard disks (sata connected). They were used with the previous installation of windows without any problem. They appear in the Device Manager but do not show in my computer. A removable disk appears that I don't know what it is. Previously I used the software to mirror one of the disks on the other in order to avoid the loss of data if a disk fails. Is one of the above players with not be able to access the drives causing the problem or the software used before the problem?

    Any help on these questions is greatly appreciated.

    Ok.

    I can't help you with the readers then.  It is out of my area of knowledge.  If they are healthy and active in the disk management utility, then that's all that I know these should be reported.

    As for the graphics drivers...

    Download and install this free utility for files.

    http://www.7-zip.org/

    After installing 7 - zip, right-click on the graphic driver file and select 7 - zip from the list of options.

    Choose 7-zip to extract to: and leave it to unzip the file in a folder.  I have it extracted the file name of the file.

    Then just follow the rest of my instructions to install the driver.

    Of course that you you first go to where 7 - zip extract the folder and continue from there.

    Hello

    I tried several times to install "MS16-019: Description of the update of security for .NET Framework 3.5.1 in Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1" on a Windows Server 2008 R2, running Service Pack 1

    Windows Update has always ends with 'Failure' / has encountered an unknown error. Code 80073712

    The convenience store has not solved it either.

    The server is not really exposed to 'outside' as such, runs in a local network, regular, small; but sometimes, a web browser may be in use.

    Is there anything that can / should be done here to remedy the failure of the installation? Or free time and even not to worry about this?

    It would be great to have a few strong indications here. Thank you!

  • PowerEdge 2850 - trying to install Windows Server 2008 R2 from USB

    Hello

    Let me start with this: they gave me this server by a friend, and I thought it would be a very rewarding experience.

    I want to install Windows Server 2008 R2 from a USB key. I already formatted the USB drive by using diskpart and implemented the fat32 file system. Then I went on the Windows site and downloaded Windows Server 2008 R2, which is a NTI .iso file and which resulted in the new format USB key

    On the server, I already put 'Manage USB Controller - with bios' and changed the sequence of drive for the "emulated hard disk USB flash drive" at the top.

    Now on the screen of boot sequence, after the press for installation of BMC, he says ' remove disks or other media. Press any key to restart"

    What's not here? Shouldn't I see a Windows Server set up the screen? I'm not there is something very basic I'm missing, but any help is appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Remove the USB when it restarts the first time :)

  • move win2003 10.2.0.3 - db to windows server 2008 64 bit 32 bit

    Hi friend;

    I have my doubts, I have win2003 32 bit and 10.2.0.3 OS db (for ebs r12), I need to move db to windows 2008 64 bit. I am the following note:
    With the help of Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 with a single platform of database Tier on Oracle 10 g Release 2 [ID 456197.1]

    The question is that:
    My source db is 10.2.0.3, during the remark, I need to create the home new oracle on win2008. I found 2 links for installation of db:

    Oracle Database 10g Release 2 Standard Edition, Enterprise Edition and Standard Edition One

    Oracle Database 10 g Release 2 (10.2.0.4) for Microsoft Windows Vista x 64 and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 x 64

    and

    Oracle Database 10 g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) for Microsoft Windows (x 64)

    I wonder if possible to use Oracle Database 10 g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) for Microsoft Windows (x 64) to win2008 too? or I need to download Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.4) for Microsoft Windows Vista x 64 and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 x 64?

    PS: Do not forget I 10.2.0.3 on the source server

    Thank you

    Hi Alex

    Yes, these steps are correct, but after the third stage (backup (dbf) cold copy from source to target) thenyou need to make my third step above (3.Startup of the database with the mode upgrade as below) in my reply

    You mention below step:

    2. transfer this backup on target server (windows 2008 64-bit and 10.2.0.4), Create new service oracle using oradim (oradim-new - sid intpwd - syspass - pfile 'pfile_location') *.< i="" wont="" do="" it="" coz="" note="" doesnt="" mention="">
    3 database starting with the mode upgrade as below
    Set ORACLE_SID =
    sqlplus "virtue sysdba".
    Startup pfile upgrade = "pfile_location.
    @$ORACLE_HOME\rdbms\admin\catupgrd.sql;
    stop immediately;
    Startup pfile = 'pfile_location.
    @$ORACLE_HOME\rdbms\admin\utlrp.sql;
    Create spfile from pfile = utlrp.sql;

    But in the note, he just says:
    Database of option C) migrate Windows 32-bit Windows Itanium or x 64 Windows

    To move the Windows 32 - bit Windows Itanium or x 64 Windows database, follow these steps:

    Copy the files (.dbf) database of the source on the target computer computer
    Copy the configuration of database init.ora and ifilecbo.ora files
    Change the configuration on the computer files target to reflect the new environment. In addition, the value systemtrig_enabled = false
    Startup of the database in nomount mode
    Recreate the database control files
    Upgrade the database from 32 bit to 64 bit (modules of pl/sql recompiles and change the size of Word) running utlirp.sql and utlrp.sql (in ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin /). See the sections use and notes in each of these scripts for instructions on how to execute them.
    Delete systemtrig_enabled = false of init.ora
    Stop and restart the database normally

    And don't forget it's db E - Business Suite, still belive that I need step 3? Coz he doesn't mention in the footnote, I just want to be sure my friend. Thank you for your understanding

    These steps are correct, there are no problems. I also wanted that same sweet Oracle is the same, it need compile and upgrade of database objects, due to this there version OS and architecture is different (32-bit and 64-bit). As you mentioned the upgrade of database you can instead of my third step as

    Upgrade the database from 32 bit to 64 bit (modules of pl/sql recompiles and change the size of Word) running utlirp.sql and utlrp.sql (in ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin /). See the sections use and notes in each of these scripts for

    Hello

    Windows Server 2008 is based on a Vista/Win 7 OS.
    It s like the same situation 5 years ago. Win 2003 server was based on Win XP and all the drivers Win XP are compatible with Win 2003 server.

    If you are using Windows Server 2008, then you should try the Vista/Win 7 drivers!
