Office update problem

I am running MS Office Enterprise 2007 on a Windows 7 x 64 system.

Everything was going well until the SP2 Office and/or related patches have been installed by Windows Update on my computer two days ago.

Now when I try to run any MS Office, I get two dialog boxes.  A saying:

MSO.dll isn't is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.

And the other saying:

The operating system is not currently configured to run this application

How to fixed this best?

    Greetings,

Sorry, you have problems getting your patches installed. I have a number of things for you to look at.  First of all, your Background Intelligent Transfer Services set to Automaticand started and Windows Update ? You can check these settings by typing services.msc in the search box of the start menu.

Since they are all Office updates, you can do a repair for office function.  To do this, click the Start button, type programs and features and click the enter key. Right click on Microsoft Office 2007 and choose change.  Choose fix and continue.  Microsoft Office will attempt to fix any problems there (this will) take a few minutes to run.

Sometimes, in order to get the patch to install correctly, you must make them manually:

    (1) Download Center to visit Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx.
    (2) search for each update code that begins with the letters "KB" and followed by a set of numbers (i.e. KB979309).
    3) click on the link for the download and then click on download and run.  You must accept the agreement and then click on continue.
    (4) repeat this process for each download of updates Windows could not install.
    (5) to rerun the update from Microsoft, click find updates.  If all goes well, it will show that you are completely patched.

If this does not work, try to run the Microsoft OneCare safety scanner.  Sometimes it will solve problems of hidden registry, or can clear the virus that can prevent the installation of the patches: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/whatsnew.htm. Click full service scan, and then Quick scan (full scan takes a long time to complete). Try the patches.

Hope this helps to get your installed patches.

    Hello Steve,.

I'm sorry for the delayed answer.

As you said, you first got the error message during Office updates and receive this error message systematically when installing Dell Dock, so I you suggest to uninstall and reinstall Dell Dock and then check if you get the error message. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Try running the fixit: problems that programs may not be installed or uninstalled. This utility removes all previous versions of the uninstalled programs corrupted registry fixes that corrects the problems as the new installer programs.
    2. After the execution of the resolution of the problems, try installing Dell Dock on your system and check if you get the error ATL100.dll.

If you still get the error message for ATL100.dll, try the following steps:

    1. Click Start, type cmd in the start search.
    2. Right click on cmd and click run as administrator.
    3. At the command prompt, type the following commands and press ENTER after each command.
      takeown /f ATL100.dll
      regsvr32 ATL100.dll
    4. Close the command prompt after you run the two commands above.
    5. Try reinstalling Dell Dock and check, but the problem persists.

After return your results for assistance.
