Office update fails (KB974234) (KB972581)

Hello world

Using MS Office Professional 2007 SP2
(XP SP3 operating system)
with the latest Automatic updates of office, two updates will not install
Error - (KB974234) (KB972581)

Updates are listed here

Could someone point me in the right direction on how to fix this?

Thank you
Paul

Hello

You need to hide if they have been installed. And I would hide them anyway since you know the numbers and
having to install them manually.

Did you run the Patch registration cleanup tool?

Check the fix here

Not sure if Expression Web would affect any on this since I was suppose to have other Office updates
installed without a problem.

    Hello

Here are my recommended steps to resolve this problem:

1 disable UAC. Down comes the restrictions - turn it off completely.
2 restart your computer for the change to take effect.
3 re - download the update of security for Microsoft Office System 2007 (KB982331) from the link below:

    5. If it still does not work, try to open all or part of your MS Office applications.
    6. follow step 3.

  • Windows 7 - Office updates fail after reboot

I am running Windows 7 32 bit, and last night I downloaded Microsoft Office 2010 and installed (upgrade of my edition of 2007 in the process).

By the time I wanted to shut down the computer that he reported that 6 updates have been downloaded and must be installed. I have not read what they were, I guess I can some how?

In any case, let him off and made the updates and off. Then I restarted the computer and it came with the second update screen that shows the percentage complete. At this point, I have to wait for what feels like 5 minutes (with remaining to 0%) and subsequently, that it says update failed and there back the changes. No error number is displayed.

After logging in I tried shutdown again and he followed the same process. I have not tried this morning yet. How can I solve this problem?

Thank you for your help. I was more happy with Windows 7, and until last night I didn't update window problems.

  • Office updates fail. Error code 80070643

Hi, I had a reo-ccurence of an old problem. Windows Update fails on the Office security updates. Error code 80070643.

    The modules that are 921598, 943973, 945185, 975051, 974554, 953404, 951535, 972580, 947319. Other modues installation ok.

I tried to uninstall Office 2003 and reinstall. I tried checking DARE. EXE as suggested. PatchREgCleanup x 64 (for my Windows 7, 64-bit) will fail with a message saying "a product mus be determined." I tried Disabaliung and restart Windows Installer in the management of the computer.

Whate otherwise I can do? Thank you.

    Thank you.

The problem is now resolved. The flaw lies in the installation of FrontPage 2003. Security updates are installing.
For the benefit of third parties who may read this page, I add the following observations: -.
After the failure of an update there was little indication of the origin of the problem.
However it happened to me that reliability monitor has given more information, for example
"Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product name: Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003. Product version: 11.0.8173.0. Product language: 1033. Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation. Status of success or error of reconfiguration: 1603. »
Then, I realized that all re - install the suite Office 2003 does not automatically re - installed FrontPage.
It seems that when looking for this kind of problems, a check of the history of reliability could be useful to determine just where the problems come from.
    Thank you.
  • 3 MS Windows & Security Office updates fail continuously as well as Acrobat & Apple QuickTime - arrrgh!

These updates (KB978380, KB978382 & KB979895) repeatedly failed to install after being downloaded automatically. I have also manually download these updates from the MS site, stored in the computer and tried to install without success. I have to disable the Windows Firewall and the McAfee? Please note that downloaded from the Acrobat Reader from Adobe and Apple QuickTime updates failed to install.

Coincidentally, I just discovered whild in the Admin account that Word now does not save my docs - wonder if I should restore to an earlier point?

Why does this continue to happen (as it has in the past)? ! I don't have a lot of computer savvy, but after reading the comments of others, I am very frustrated and confused with MS Vista.

    craigcycle,
I think that you run some aggressive scans on your system for infections malware\virus.  The fact that you get into any trouble with the Windows updates as well as 3 updates (Apple and Adobe) party leads us to a problem that is more then just a Windows Update issue.  You do not mention 2 firewall running.  You must disable one of them, because the firewall programs may conflict with each other and cause problems.  Here are some links with useful information about the protection malware\virus.

Update Word Viewer, it is likely fault because TI WU can't find the original source files. Uninstall and reinstall word Viewer, and then apply the required updates.

Leave the Word 2003 installation disc in the drive.

Most of the time for Office updates fail because the update cannot find the original source files.
