    Hello eljnlm,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you are unable to change the folder of destination of scanning on your Mac computer. Thank you for providing such detailed information! I will do my best to help you! I noticed that you do not have the HP Update Web site software.

I recommend you to uninstall the software here. I know that you have an Airport Extreme, but it is connected by a USB cable. I would recommend following these steps to achieve a solid wireless connection. Please unplug the cable USB of the router and the printer.

Make sure that you have run the Wireless Setup Wizard on your printer. I'll give you a document HP if you did not do this operation here. Then, please install the latest version of the software from the HP website here. Follow the rest of these steps in this document.

    Hello

The analysis of parameters need to be changed to HP Scan App. launch of the HP scan application from your computer and select the option left (PDF or JPEG...) and then choose the size of legal scan on the right.

    Save and close the application.

Now you can scan in legal.

    Note:

You can also create your own settings for scanning HP scanning parameters.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 does not scan full page legal-size

I have seen this question several times in these forums, but solutions do not apply to me - I can not find the applications or the settings or patches do not resolve the problem. I am running Windows 8 32-bit with a HP Officejet Pro 8600. When you scan a legal size document, the entire page is not scan, even when I select a custom size. The bottom is cut roughly where a letter size page would end.

If you respond with a solution, please be very specific, i.e. If you say "Control Panel", you mean the control panel of Windows 8 or the small touch screen of the printer itself? If you want "pull me up to the HP application", please say that the we - there are several installed on this computer, and I've tried them all.

    Thanks in advance...

In fact, the problem was located. I is broke and finally called HP support. It turns out that, contrary to the information that I have seen elsewhere, legal size paper MUST be analysed the ADF, not the dish. You can see a white band across the plateau where the search starts. The dish is physically unable to accommodate legal communication. Once the original is loaded in the ADF, the size of the document options now include legal communication.

How can I get my printer Officejet Pro 8600 all-in-0ne take legal paper?  The printer's specifications say it prints legal size, but the tray is letter size.

The tray can be extended to legal size paper.  Remove the tray and note the blue lever on the left side.  This lever will extend the tray to the legal size.  After having developed the status bar, move the slider to Center to provide the appropriate alignment of the loaded paper.

I can't get the award-winning Officejet Pro 8600 to scan one side of a document of legal size of ATF.  I use Panel of the printer to scan to computer and save to the PDF format.  I select original: two-sided in the Panel.  The printer will scan only on one side and an error message appears saying that the tray supports that double-sided scanning for certain sizes of paper.

    Thank you for your message.

Unfortunately, the ADF can scan only 1-sides for legal-size documents.

You can, however, use the software to "Add pages" using glass as the example below.

  • How to print on legal paper with my Officejet Pro 8600?

I have an Officejet Pro 8600.  It has a single paper tray that will not grow to hold legal size paper.  I could stuff a few sheets of legal size paper in the tray and close it, but the printer will print only top 11 "of the page.  What can I do to be able to print the full 14 "?

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 analysis stops at Midway

With the help of a relatively new in Officejet Pro 8600 on my iMac with OSX Mavericks.

Printer is set up wireless, printing works fine. Scanning did too, until yesterday.

When I scan a document through HP application scanning, or Mac "scanner" that appears in the Printers window, the printer is now the noise, the status bar starts and then stops. It does not move. I left it like that for hours, just to see what happens, and when I come back the job has been cancelled.

Wireless connection is obviously good, as I can print and even when scanning printer responds immediately. It just isn't really complete - or even apparently start - the scan.

Any idea of what is the cause? It seems that this could be a faulty machine.

    Thank you!

    Hello vertov,.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I'm sorry to hear you're having this problem with your 8600 scanning. A quick way to determine if your printer is having a hardware problem, make a copy.

If the printer can make a copy, it is not a problem with the hardware with the scanner from scanning. If a scan failure is present on the printer, try looking in the steps detailed here: A 'Scanner failure' Message is displayed on the printer control panel.

Also it is better to have the printer connected to a wall outlet directly for power, this will help you understand why: issues when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.

I'll come back and get your answer.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium ADF analysis convex/Fisheye results

Not only do I have to deal with random vertical lines on the digitization of documents in format pdf, I was out buying this AIO believing that I will be able to scan above 300 DPI using the ADF. Why is this NOT advertised? I also notice that the ADF scan results are tilted, so I have to manually turn the resulting page (and this always leads to fuzzy edges because of anti-aliasing). I read where the use of the 'PDF' indexable parameter will straighten the scans, but the text is rendered evil and statements blurred and faded. Other than that, the real printer/copier works great; the part of scan is terrible (and that was the only reason I bought this printer).

Now, my current complaint is when you scan a document with horizontal lines, these lines are not only not right, they are curved (like a fisheye effect or the lines are convex in shape). I tested several ways; I open the pdf file with Photoshop and after recovery of the document, I use the tool rule to mark both ends of the line. When I look at the center of the line, it is not in accordance with either of the end points. It's like the center of the page was pushed toward the inside of the lines causing a bit for not being straight.

Everyone has noticed this or know what I can do to fix this? It seems that this printer has many problems with scanning.

    Hello Shan-Dysigns,

It seems that you have many questions related scanning with your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium, they will have vertical lines, jump of twisted lines are curved, etc..

This document from HP: vertical stripes, lines or streaks in the Copies, faxes or Scans mainly covers the vertical lines and food issues.

To seek to solve looks curved to the scans, just appear like that during the ADF or flat glass in this way as well?

I would like to allows you to check the updates of the firmware of the printer: get the latest Firmware and updates, so please make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet: questions when it is connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power should help explain why.

If troubleshooting doesn't help not solve your problem, then I would say call the HP Technical Support to see all the other possibilities for you. If you call in North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 for all other regions, click here.

  • ANALYSIS QUESTION - OFFICEJET PRO 8600 - ALL-IN-ONE

I HAVE A HP OFFICEJET PRO 8600 PREMIUM E ALL IN ONE-N911N PRINTER.  I have
HAS RECENTLY HAD SOME PROBLEMS WITH THE SOFTWARE/DRIVERS DESKTOP, WHERE THE
SOFTWARE DOES NOT OPEN ON MY DESTOP.  I CONTACTED HP TECHNICAL SUPPORT. THEY
TOOK CONTROL OF MY DESKTOP AND MY SOFTWARE HAS DETERMINED COULD HAVE BECOME
CORUPTED AND SO DOWNLOADED FROM THE HP WEB SITE LATER
THE OFFICEJET 8600/DRIVERS SOFTWARE VERSION, AND THAT SEEMED TO
SOLVE MY PROBLEMS, UNTIL I DISCOVERED WHAT I BELIEVE, IT IS A BUG OR HAS
SERVICE CAPACITY FORGOTTEN WHEN SCANNING BY USING THE MOST RECENT SCANNING
SOFTWARE.   THE QUESTION IS, WHEN YOU USE THE 8600 DESKTOP SOFTWARE TO ANALYZE
A DOCUMENT: IF I SCAN A FEW PAGES USING THE DOCUMENT FEEDER, THEN,.
BEFORE I SAVE THE FILE, I WOULD LIKE TO ADD ANOTHER PAGE SCANNED, TO THIS
SAME FILE, BUT YOU WANT TO ADD THIS EXTRA PAGE USING THE FLAT GLASS
(NOT THE DOCUMENT FEEDER), THE SOFTWARE NOT ME LETS NOT DO THAT. THE
SCANNING SOFTWARE IS ALWAYS LOOKING FOR THE PAGE EXTRA (S) TO BE
ADDED, COMING THROUGH THE DOCUMENT FEEDER (SOFTWARE ONLY)
RECOGNIZE ADDITIONAL PAGES TO COME FROM ANOTHER SOURCE, OTHER THAN
FROM THE SAME SOURCE YOU STARTED SCANNING WITH). I'VE ALWAYS BEEN ABLE TO
DO THIS WITH MY OLDER VERSION OF THE DESKTOP SOFTWARE (CD VERSION ONLY)
CAME WITH MY PRODUCT), BUT SINCE I DOWNLOADED THE LATEST VERSION, IT
DON'T ME LETS NOT START SCANNING OF A DOCUMENT FROM A SINGLE SOURCE (DOCUMENT
FEEDER OR FLAT) AND ADD EXTRA FROM ANOTHER SOURCE () PAGES
CHARGER DOCUMENTS OR FLAT).  IS THERE A BUG IN THE SOFTWARE?  TO
SUMMARIZE THE PROBLEM: WHEN YOU START A SCAN USING THE DOCUMENT FEEDER.
WANT TO ADD ANOTHER PAGE SCANNED ON THE GLASS FLAT, THEN
SAVE ALL PAGES SCANNED IN A FILE?  YOU CAN'T DO THAT WITH THE MOST RECENT
SOFTWARE (DOWNLOADED FROM HP WEBSITE), BUT YOU CAN THE MAKE WITH THE
CD VERSION OVER OLD ONES. IS THIS FEATURE MISSING FROM MOST RECENT SOFTWARE?

OK, the new SW to use can be found here:

    FTP://FTP.HP.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Download and install this.  This will install an application on your system, called "HP Scan" extended.   This software is designed to work with any recent HP scanner that has already installed the drivers.    The software does not replace your existing HP Scan supplied with the appliance.  It is rather an alternative which offers many more features than what came with your device originally.    This software is already available with the new HP machines.

The selection of the default source is 'Use document feeder so burdened', so you should be able to scan from the ADF or flat all in one session.

    Enjoy!
