Offsite replica takes forever to start, hangs on the activation of CBT

We saw two separate instances of this, both are Windows Server 2008R1 VMs on separate VMware 5.5.0 hosts. Two different environments/locations.

Common

  • Both are supported by separate servers from Veeam B & R.
  • Once the replica is started, it can be off and on normally, no timeout, second power on acts as expected
  • Both are suspended on a drive of about 1TiB
  • Guest readers are 10 k
  • Power on operation happens expired, tempting second power on results in "another task is already underway"
  • No load on the server
  • This has been a recurring problem, but recently has taken longer than usual, used to be anywhere between 5-10 minutes

First of all, 31minutes

I'm curious to know if anyone can point me in the right direction more to investigate it and to be resolved.

Thank you

We ended up disabling CBT on the replica of VM during the manual/test failover.

Just go to the options of VM and set ctkEnabled of your discs on false values.

The replica of the boots now instantly.

Problem is that this should be done every time we start the replica.

  • .Gif animation takes time to start playing in the web

    Hello! I'm new here...

The title says it pretty well...

I made some GIFs for web animations. I use 'save for web and devices' and get a nice compact file, but once it is uploaded to a server and I opened the .gif in my browser (google chrome), it takes time to start changing the first image for others, even if the delay is only 3 seconds. I use PS CS4 Extended.

Is this behaviour normal .gif and the question can be dependent on my system (HP compaq nx7010) or is there a button unflipped somewhere in Photoshop?

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

Until recently my phone has taken an hour or more at the start (and I'm pretty sure it takes a lot of time to stop but that doesn't bother me). When I hit the power button / I hear the fan or something when I put my ear close by, but all lights only stays on for a few seconds and then I don't hear it anymore. I tried to run ccleaner, tried to make a record of cleaning / optimization, I scanned for virus/malware, I fiddled around in the boot parameters by running 'msconfig', disabled some startup programs and nothing I tried worked even. I go GeekSquad.com and they tried to help me remotely and they said that "it seemed that I just needed a good tuneup", so if any of you know what they do to optimizations that could be useful and I can try to do it myself.
