Satellite L300D - sometimes it takes forever to start or does not start

Anyone able to help me?

Sometimes it takes me an eternity to boot up my laptop and sometimes it does not start at all and I get sent to the start screen repair and which translates a unable to repair press ok to turn off the computer message. Whenever I get to start a laptop program always crashes with some answers takes about an hour.

I used the recovery disks, I did when I was told to do, first used the labtop about 5 times so far. Whenever I've restored the system it works very well for about 1 hour until that I had to install the Windows updates.

Anyone able to help me on this problem of mine?

As already written boarder is not easy to say why this is happening. With own laptop preinstalled, obviously, everything works fine.

So what you need to do is to disable the automatic update of Windows.
Chose the option check for updates but let me choose when... and before enable update checking the list of all the available updates.
Be sure only important updates will be installed. Do not install the updates defined as optional.

Toshiba Satellite A85 Celeron with XP Home edition. Windows does not start. I have Toshiba logo screen, then it turns into a black screen with the upper left corner of the cursor. I have the recovery disk. Is it possible to record HD without re-formatting and losing all data?

    Thank you;

If you run the Toshiba recovery application, you will lose all your data.  As indicated in the warning, this application will restore the computer back to wherever it was when it was first delivered by the factory.

Without other complementary diagnostic information, it is difficult to determine what is happening.  Pressing the key (do not hold) of F8 beginning immediately after that the sequence of power should bring you to the Advanced Boot Options menu.  Try again then press repeatedly the key rather than pressing on and now.

The recovery CD Toshiba, you have probably does not allow a "repair installation".  Contact Toshiba to see if they will provide you with a suitable CD.

Given the fact that you can get a useful place when you start with the Toshiba Recovery DVD, my guess is that the computer is OK but that the hard drive has failed - or maybe more likely - the startup information is damaged so that it does not start.  If you have access to a computer equipped with a burner, download and create a bootable Windows CD.

There are a number of available bootable CD which include various recovery and diagnostic tools.  You'll have to do some research to find out how to use the tools.

    Ultimate Boot CD 4 Windows
    Ultimate Boot CD
    Hiren BootCD

If you feel overwhelmed by the tools and I just want back the data, and then use the Toshiba Recovery DVD, make you a Knoppix CD and use this key to your data, preferably on a network connection.

If all this sounds like too much for you - and there is no shame in admitting that--take the laptop for a good local computer repair shop (not a type BigBoxStoreUSA or rather GeekSquad) and ask them to check it out and make sure to recover your data before anything else.

I didn't do anything to this thing of the hook aopart up to my wireless home network and since then stop after that it simply does not work correctly. I tried to power off and re-boot in safe mode, but it still takes forever!

What's up (Toshiba help line will get ' phoned later this afternoon!) and how do I back out of the box settings? Can I start and enter the BIOS with F2 or F8 magic or similar to reset everything?

Any ideas would be most appreciated.

    Thank you.

On each new Toshiba notebook is preinstalled original Toshiba recovery image. This recovery image contains many tools and utilities as well as additional applications. Most of them start by operating system and slows down the startup time.

Please note: when you get the new book of Microsoft updates are set to auto so when you start your laptop and there is LAN or WLAN connotation your laptop will start to automatically download the updates and it will slow down the performance of any computer laptop.

What you need is the optimization of the OS.

  • Satellite Pro A30: after disk HARD replacing the BIOS does not see DVD or HARD disk

    Hello

I bought a new Pro A30 of Satellite earlier.
Shortly after, I noticed the system sometimes
would freeze, with a rattling of the HD.
A reboot cold was the only solution.
I was told to replace the HD I did but the
problem persisted with the new HD.

I tried a known working HD and the problem still persisted.
At this point, the warranty period has increased.
Frost started happening more regularly, and
now, the BIOS does not recognize the HD player or DVD.
It starts and then try to boot from the network,
because he doesn't have a HD or DVD player.

At this point, I think I need a new system board.
Someone at - it other advice or seen this problem

  • Satellite P750-135 - key FN and Blu - Ray player does not

OK so recently I've noticed a few problems with my Satellite P750-135 with PSAY3E-059002EN part number.

Not words, the button FN done any work, however when the Toshiba flash card settings are configured to enable the mouse above, the functions that I would normally use, for example FN + ESC to mute or FN + F6 to turn down the brightness, etc., the works of service.

The problem has occurred since the drivers updated by a program on my PC but I can not restore the system to a point where the driver has been updated. I uninstalled the driver and installed the driver from Toshiba Web site and tried countless other things without success. Any help would be appreciated.

As for my second question, a while back I tried to play a Blu - Ray movie on my laptop and it works as it is. The drive plays DVD but when a Blu - Ray drive is inserted, the drive whirs, the AutoPlay window opens with no program to read it.

I have tried opening the Corel to play it, but it does not work.
The drive in question works on my One Xbox and Playstation 3, and I've tried other discs that don't work.

    Any suggestions?

ccYou know that's not easy to say what the problem is here. When you get new notebook with the settings everything works and all the pre-installed drivers, tools and utilities work well together.
Many people install some updates which are not so important, and then something can go in the wrong direction.
    > The problem has occurred for a program on my PC updated drivers...
To be honest I don't know what program do you have average and exactly what has been updated.
In any case you can try to solve this problem of FN keys is to remove preinstalled Toshiba value added package, restart your computer and install the latest version of the Toshiba download page - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
Utility of flash cards is part of this package and I hope after installation of VAP own this will work properly again.

    Blu - Ray movie question:

Did you perhaps updated original display driver Toshiba?

  • Satellite A665-14F - IR Transmitter built-in Nvidia 3D does not

    Hey all

    I desperately need help

I just bought a new laptop Toshiba Satellite A665-14F. the computer looks and feels well except for a big problem. Just NOT in 3D!
I googled the topic, but no real help.

I just opened the box, completed the installation start-up and is go to the Nvidia Control Panel to enable the stereoscopic 3D feature, it just launched the 3D Vision Assistant who asked me to choose a type of configuration to use. I took the first (with transmitter IR USB 3D glasses) and then choose. In the next screen, that it says connect the USB transmitter and press; My only problem is the A665-14f does not come with a USB external transmitter, but rather a transmitter integrated display on the right side of the Web cam so I have nothing to connect to USB, and certainly not on vision 3D button. The next button is grayed until I connect and press a
button what I simply do not have?

I've upgraded to the new Nvidia 270.61 driver but still and always the same. The wizard is just waiting for a USB dongle with a button and green LIGHT to go and activate the 3D Vision. After a search very thorough documentation of Toshiba they just say a very ambiguous manner that he should see the built in transmitter and the Nivida driver documentation says that it supports the built in the transmitter, in fact, I think that the driver is installed successfully for the status screen that appears after installation.

PLEASE HELP :( I felt in love with this laptop that has everything I wanted in a laptop but missed in the 3D part. I am running Windows Home Premium 64-bit edition came with the laptop and I have not installed anything on it yet or even used. I was so excited to test the 3D and missed him so I need any hint on how to get this integrated transmitter works.

    Thank you in advance.

I think you just need to wear 3D glasses in front of the laptop for the infrared transmitter work.

You have fully charged the glasses?

Also download and install the latest package of nVidia Driver from the Toshiba site (not the site of nvidia). There is a new revision.

  • Satellite U400-12F: LED power button & HDD protector tool does not work

    Hello

    I have a Satellite U400-12F and I bought a Vista Ultimate.
After you have installed all the drivers and Toshiba of the corect order downloads, the button to turn on the power lights does not work.

And I tried to install HDD protection Utility but the installer returned an error like 'cannot be installed on this model.
Do you know why these problems?

    Thank you very much
    concerning
    Daniel

    > After installing all the drivers and software of Toshiba by order, the button to turn on the power switch lights does not work.
Please check the BIOS settings. As I m not wrong not it takes an option called LED illumination or something like that. There you can turn on and off.
Also, try to customize the special button of TOSHIBA using the Toshiba control utility.
There are also some useful options.
But to be honest I n not know exactly if this button doesn't work with Win XP. Maybe this feature is not available in XP.

    > I tried to install HDD protection Utility but the installer returned an error like 'cannot be installed on this model.
This error message appears if you try to install a tool that was not designed for this series of laptop.
The U400-12F seems to belong to the PSU40E. Check if it s a good tool.

  • Satellite U300 - 13 M - port external monitor (VGA port) does not work

Dear users of Forums from Toshiba,

I have a problem with the VGA port. I use the Windows XP operating system. Laptop, do not display on an external monitor, I tried all monitors to connect to my office, but does not solve this problem. I also tried to reinstall Windows XP, once again, and nothing has changed.

    Please help me.

    Best regards, Elbrus

    Hello

I guess that by Satellite U300 came preinstalled with Vista. Am I right about that?
Anyway, if you want to use external monitor and switch successfully to him you must install the utilities and tools of Toshiba. There are several of them and allows you to use the FN + F5 key combination and move your desktop to laptop LCD display to the external monitor.

Can you please tell me one thing: have you installed all the stuff of the Toshiba download page according to document Instructions of facilities?
The configuration of the laptop is not known to me, but try please check the Intel properties and let me know if the external monitor is recognized in properties. Usually, you can choose to use the external monitor there.

You can also start Toshiba HWsetup utility. There must be tab display. There you can also find an option to use the LCD screen + monitor at startup.

Check it out please and post the results.

  • Satellite A215 S6816 won't mode BIOS and Windows does not load

    Hello

I'm helping a friend to determine what the problem could be on his laptop satellite A215 - S6816 Windows does not load on start up and it says "press F2 for Setup, press F12 for the boot device selection menu" but niether one of these options works no matter what I do.

I tried them on start up but nothing happens. It will be not just to enter mode BIOS or the menu. It will say please wait or entering the menue, but yet again, nothing happens.
What else can I try to enter the menu, either to get the system to get windows to load? This could be a motherboard problem? Hard drive problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

If you are unable to access the BIOS, or to load the Windows operating system, and then a serious hardware problem is present.
Eventually he s a motherboard related question that means it could be a faulty motherboard or just a small part of the motherboard as a ROM chip for example.
I doubt this can be fixed without help the ASP.

There is thus only one real solution. go to ASP. Guys must verify the simple parts to determine what part is affected.

    Good luck

  • Satellite P500 - after update BIOS on the numeric keypad does not work anymore

I just had a Satellite P500 and am running Windows 7. I downloaded all the latest drivers and updated the system BIOS to version 1.70 (from Toshiba support website). Now, my numeric keypad of the keyboard does not work.

The NumLock light is on and when I hit the key "6" on the pavement, he turns the power light, but the behavior of the other keys does not change that it is on or off. The '-' key to enter a '6', but none of the other keys (except "enter" does nothing.

I removed the keyboard driver and rebooted to reinstall the keyboard driver, but has no effect. The keyboard has worked for a few days after that I flashed the bios but seems to have stopped since I started using a USB mouse. I tried to uninstall the USB mouse driver, but who have nothing do either (it was a Logitech driver).

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance

    > I did not upgrade bios 1.7
Maybe you should try upgrading the BIOS
As another user has suggested upgrading the BIOS 1.7 helped, even if the end user has updated the BIOS twice
