Old printer in new issue of system

I have Windows 8/new laptop computer and an old printer/scanner (HP Deskjet F4200 series). I tried to install the program cd old printer on the new laptop and it says that my printer is too old for my new system. My printer is still great, and I hate having to buy a new one! Anyway around this? Drivers? Help will be really appreciated! I looked up my printer series... just install the drivers? Install the program after I installed the drivers? Thanks much for any help!

The driver can be downloaded from HP here.  Download the driver, and after you download it, run the program.  Do not connect the printer up to be instructed by the installer.

Hi I have an old HP Deskjet 932C printer and it does not work with my new laptop which has Vista.  TThe old driver disk is not installed and the computer tells me that it should work with the current drivers on the computer.  I have contected to the computer to the printer with a USB cable.  Is there anything I should do I don't know?  I would like for the printer to work through the router but would be happy if it worked only with a cable.

    Hello

I hope that this will help solve the problem you are experiencing. For these older printers, HP relies on the Microsoft driver comes with the Vista operating system software.

Here is a website which describes the process. Here.

Should work. Let me know if you have any other questions.

  • HP printer on new wireless home system films between connection/ready mode whenever it feels like it

I recently bought a HP Pavilion dv6 notebook with windows 7 home premium. I have also recently, but before buying the computer laptop, bought a photosmart HP more B210 series printer. On the old laptop I was running the printer cable. Under the new system, it is installed wireless. Switches the printer between offline connection/ready to chance. I can work on a document (Editor, Word, Excel) and he's ready and print very well. A minute or two later, after several on the working paper, but does nothing else on the laptop, I go to printing and printers in offline mode.

I go through a range of power the printer off, out of blah, blah document, blah, but it is not everything that I can identify which will change the printer to loan. I can turn off the printer and it comes on fine with jingle is to say he's ready, but the screen says offline and won't print. Sometimes it will go to loan quickly, sometimes a few minutes later and sometimes not at all. All this without me touching the computer or printer.

Have noticed there is already a thread that is running on this topic under 'My new B210 goes to sleep and not wake up' is marked as resolved, but from the comments is still an ongoing discussion. I'm going to read it to see how it developsso no need to comment here

You printer actually not going offline, then.  It's just that your PC is not able to find it.

    RW442002,

It's very simple, you need a USB cable. The drivers are included with WIN7.  See here:

  • remove an old printer of the new iMac

In the search for a new printer, reading the comments, I came across the suggestion to remove the etc. the old printer drivers before installing a new.   Some people have problems with their new printer, before doing this.  How this is done?   Is there a page from Apple with the instructions I can follow?

    Thank you

You can go to the preferences system/printers, select the printer you want to remove and click on the '-' sign.

If you want to remove the printing software, after doing the above, you can go to the library/printers and move the brand (for example Canon) printer folder to the trash. And maybe ~/Library/Printers and delete any file app (e.g. Canon MP560.app) brand printer.

Then install your new printer driver you may be able to find at Apple or the web site of the manufacturer of the printer.

You must disconnect with the old ID and return with a new, you can't just change it in the text field.

  • HP Laserjet 4050N: old printer - new windows

I have an old printer (HP Laserjet 4050N) and just got a new office with Windows 10. I have two printers connected to it but the 4050N simply won't talk to her. HP printer and scan doctor told me there is nothing wrong, but no test page will print or it will print from other programs.

HP Laserjet 4050 n is hooked up through the usb port.  I changed usb ports, changed cables and uninstalled and reinstalled programs from the official site of HP. I bought a USB connector series and still have the same problem. I even swapped the 6 ft USB connection cables between the two printers and the Epson print very well. Whenever I connect the HP, I get a message unknown USB. The printer will print within his own menu, but not from the computer.

It seems that something in the printer menu may prevent the connection but I don't know what else to do. I connected each port it has to the new computer and still have the same result.

These days, the best way to hang an old legacy printer is with an EIO network card.  You can buy them for little money on ebay.  You can use 600N, 610N 615N that everything will be cheap.  The card fits into one of the EIO housing at the rear and is very easy to install.  In fact looking at your post again once you have the model 4050N meaning originally, it came with a network card.  If there a just do a google search to configure the card.

  • Installation/use of an old printer to a new laptop

Can I install a HP laserjet 1000 series printer I purchsed in 2005 on a laptop brand new - probably HP - that I will buy in the next few days? Or do I have to buy a new printer?

    Hello

Your new laptop runs Windows 7 (unless you spend it) and no support from HP for your old printer driver. It seems that you have to buy a new printer and it's the way sellers (all) make money. In fact, the development of new products is much less expensive than to support the old products so all I can say: it's LIFE.

    Merry Christmas.

PS I do not work for any provider and I hate them all.

  • New Windows 7 machine and old printer HP OfficeJet J4580

I just bought a HP P7 1234 Windows 7 machine.  I plugged my old printer to my vista computer on my new HP machine.  It's a HP Officejet J4580 all-in-One.  Windows find drivers that work, but it did not load the HP Solution Center.

I loaded the 130.0.44.62 HP Solution Center, but the function 'Add a device' does not see my printer connected to the USB port.

As you can imagine after that reading the messages here, feeding high things and bottom, connection and disconnection of the devices is not work or help.  I can't not work printer from the HP Solution Center scan functions.  I am a loyal customer of HP, but it shouldn't be rocket science.  If there is no patch from HP that will make my HP Solution Center see my printer, or if not, there are only a few easy steps to solve this problem, can you recommend a current HP printer all in one for about $100 that will load and play as announced?

Chris hoping he doesn't have to cut, delete, load and restart, load and restart, ad nauseam.

    Hello

That's why I called many products such as Plug-n-Paray products (with many suppliers). In this case, please visit the following site to download the drivers for it and install them on your new computer.

  • Windows 7 and HP LaserJet 5 p - old printer printer does not work with this new computer

Just bought new PC and it has Windows 7.  Old HP LaserJet 5 p printer has always worked with last PC (XP).  This printer uses the parallel so purchased and plugged port with a parallel to USB printer cable.  Thought everything was cool when it seemed that the printer was recognized as "new device" but would not print my Word document.  Review of the Panel's PC recognized some other strange printer, so it has been deleted and I used the troubleshooter to find and download the old printer driver.  PC now shows the correct printer but my documents still won't print.  What can / should I do for these 2 working together?  Don't want to have to buy a new printer just to get something that works with 7.

I was too frustrated. Finally, I solved the problem. I bought a parallel to USB cable head Gear. First attempts do not work. Unplug the printer from the computer. That removing all printers (some I just created trying). Make sure that you do not have the test pages in the queue (cancel all), otherwise impossible to remove printer. Also update windows drivers (to add the printer section). Turn off the computer. Connect printer USB available on the computer again. Turn on computer. And. You DID!
