HP printer on new wireless home system films between connection/ready mode whenever it feels like it

I recently bought a HP Pavilion dv6 notebook with windows 7 home premium. I have also recently, but before buying the computer laptop, bought a photosmart HP more B210 series printer. On the old laptop I was running the printer cable. Under the new system, it is installed wireless. Switches the printer between offline connection/ready to chance. I can work on a document (Editor, Word, Excel) and he's ready and print very well. A minute or two later, after several on the working paper, but does nothing else on the laptop, I go to printing and printers in offline mode.

I go through a range of power the printer off, out of blah, blah document, blah, but it is not everything that I can identify which will change the printer to loan. I can turn off the printer and it comes on fine with jingle is to say he's ready, but the screen says offline and won't print. Sometimes it will go to loan quickly, sometimes a few minutes later and sometimes not at all. All this without me touching the computer or printer.

Have noticed there is already a thread that is running on this topic under 'My new B210 goes to sleep and not wake up' is marked as resolved, but from the comments is still an ongoing discussion. I'm going to read it to see how it developsso no need to comment here

You printer actually not going offline, then.  It's just that your PC is not able to find it.

Number of brand and model of the router?

These settings are to set up your printer wireless (or wired):

    • Stay connected to your router
    • Trouble printer status 'offline '.
    • Wake mode 'sleep'
    • All wireless devices stay better connected

While the DHCP is convenient, devices like printers (wired and wireless) should always be assigned a (fixed) IP address manually to avoid conflicts on your wireless network and must be outside the range of the router DHCP.  After the adjustment of the static IP address the computer must be updated to show a Standard TCP/IP port with the IP address of printers under printer properties/Ports.

    1. Set a static in the printer IP address (click here) outside the range of the DHCP of the router (check your manual). It is for Linksys routers, but can be used for all routers. Check your DHCP range and change this first if necessary. More Help Wireless Printing is here and here and still more here.  Video here explains the problem and how to solve the problem. <--> So watch this!
    2. Or check in the printer "Auto Off/sleep/Energy Saving Mode" is disabled the System Mode Time Out is set to zero (0) Use the built-in webserver (EWS) by visiting the printer address IP address in the address bar of your browser, click on settings tab/Auto Off. Or use the printer, printer Home Page (EWS) Wizard. Also check your printer properties.
    3. If the printer supports and has IPv6 enabled, disable the IPv6 option in the printer.
    4. Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a socket wall and not to a UPS, power strip or a lightning arrestor. This will cause the printer to drop offline connection and disconnection (checked yes!).

  • New wireless printer will not see my router wireless/network

I have checked the other posts, but their issues are a little different from mine.  I just bought a new wireless printer.  I got Samsung remote in, and no matter what they or I did, nothing worked.  We have installed drivers & everything, and my wireless network will not be displayed in the list of available networks.  I have my router sitting 2 feet of the printer & my laptop.  I know it works because I use my wireless laptop at the same time.  We tried to enter the settings manually & automatically & my network will not be displayed.  I use Windows 7 with the Avira software with an active firewall on my home network.   I have tried for a week now and I'm ready to return the printer.  Help, please.  Here are the parameters that you can request.  The only thing I can think is that I asked to be assigned and IP address because I do not know how to get the real.  Thanks in advance

Manual settings entered: (from my home network properties in Control Panel)

(the exact name of my network)

    Security type: no authentication (open)

encryption type: WEP (even if the drop-down list in the printer software makes me choose wep64 or 32

    Security: wep

    security key: (I get)

    key index: 1

To get it back to where I needed either from me has it taken about 2 months - reinstall all the programs, implemented my toolbars desktop, special etc. It's a chore because I do transcription work and have several versions of Office & I need to do something special for the transplants I don't get this error message because I have more than one version, etc.

If you can afford it (not very expensive), buy an external USB drive enclosure and a hard drive at least as large as your installed hard drive.  Once you get your system as you wish, create a complete image of the disk and save it to the external hard drive.  Sometimes, if you buy a player and a box together, software disk imaging and cloning is included.  Otherwise, there is some disc perfectly adequate cloning/imaging programs available.

If you get a large enough external drive, you can use it to make an image of such system which just after getting properly put things in place and make then one or more periodic images to use as backups.

If you clone rather than image, then you can just swap the current drive for the clone.  It is more useful as a backup in case your installation disc breaks down.  As a general rule, images can be restored from the backup disk or from the software installed on your computer or by using a CD bootable you create using the same backup software.

I highly recommend you get one of the following options (or any other similar software you can find) and make backups.

If you have a Western Digital hard drive, you can get a version of Acronis True Image free of WD (http://support.wdc.com/product/downloaddetail.asp?swid=119) or you can get the software of cloning separately (this is not an exhaustive list and in no particular order, some are free, some not):

    Acronis True Image Home
    EASEUS ToDo Backup
Paragon Drive Copy or Partition Manager Personal
    Casper
    XXClone

    Macrium Reflect free

  • Photosmart Wireless B109n-z: Impossible to connect the printer wireless to the new router

I just changed my wireless router and can not get my printer to recognize the new router.

When you try to reinstall with the disc that came with the printer it keeps "quit unexpectedly" at the end of the installation, but before I get to connect to the printer.

The drive indicates that it is for use with Mac OS X v10.4; 10.5, but I can't find an option to update the web site HP despite it stating that my printer is still supported.

I can still use the printer with a USB cable connected directly to my table, but this is no help for the other devices I have.

    Hi @Paulwrow,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are unable to connect your HP Photosmart Wireless B109n-z to your new router wirelessly. I'd be happy to see this with you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

The CD/DVD software will not work with newer versions of Mac OS X. HP doesn't have the drivers for this printer in Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan. The last driver out of this printer is for Mac OS X 10.6. The only driver available that uses the driver update from Apple. This causes a problem when reconfigure the wireless, as this is the software for help. It would be easier if you have another computer running an operating system that is supported so that you can install the full feature software to configure the wireless.

As an alternative method, you can try doing as a guideline to connect the wireless printer. We will use the ad-hoc connection. With the ad-hoc connection, you can launch the built-in web server (EWS) to access the wireless configuration wizard.

Use the following steps as a guide:
Restore the default settings of the network:

    1. Press the button next to the wireless Menu.
    2. Press the button next to wireless settings.
    3. Press the button next to network by default.

Once the network is reset, the printer should disseminate the ad hoc connection. It should look like "hpsetup" or "HP Setup (and part of the printer name or MAC address). With an IP address like 169.82.12.44.

Then, connect to the network printer, that is broadcasting.

    1. On the Mac in the upper right corner, click on the wireless icon and connect to the network "HP Setup" or "hpsetup".

    Print the wireless test report:

    1. Press the button next to Scan.
    2. Press the button next to the wireless Menu.
    3. Press the button next to wireless settings.
    4. Press the button next to run the wireless network Test.

Browse the test report wireless IPV4 of the printer (IP address) 169.82.12.44.

    1. Launch your internet browser and enter the IP as shown. This should load the printer EWS.
    2. Click on the tab network across the top.
    3. On the left side, click on wireless or network.
    4. Run the Wireless Setup Wizard.

This is the only way to reconfigure the wireless, unless you have another computer that has supported the software.

For more information on the ad-hoc connection, see the User Guide.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. I can't wait to hear strings attached good luck!

  • B209a printer cannot find the new wireless network

Let me start that I am not very tech savy to start so I read other discussions related to this and could not find a snwer to solve my problem.

I upgraded my router wireless internet 10 days ago and since then my printer cannot find a wireless connection. That's what I've tried so far, I tried to restart the printer, unpluging it and pluging reconnect, restart my router, myrouter to reset (which knocked my internet at home for hours). The rest of my Office Home phones and cell phones all pick up my network, but my printer can't seem to find it. He said only: "No connection found" on the touch screen.

I run a wireless network Test report, and he says that he cannot find a SSID. But when I printed on a Page of Configuration of HP network it states that he discovered 5 networks, including mine.

My wireless router is a rhythm. I have not installed it, did the tech from my service provider. He seemed brand new. I have no way to update its firmware (whatever it is).

    Any help would be appreciated.

I have solved my problem after reading this thread. http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/printer-networking-and-wireless/Photosmart-plus-B209a-won-t-connect-to-wireless-router/m-p/177144#M7026

  • Windows XP don't reconise new wireless printer

My cousin has an old computer that is running Windows XP.  She bought a new wireless printer that works with his cellphone and the Tablet, but the computer does not recognize the printer.  How this can be solved?

No answer is possible if you do not identify the printer brand and model.  Here is the general answer.

Because an operating system - like Windows XP - cannot know the details of how all the hardware devices to work, manufacturers produce a small program that acts as an interface between the hardware and the operating system.  These programs are called pilots.

As operating systems evolve - Windows XP to Vista to Windows 7, etc. - OEMs must often change their pilots or to provide new drivers to work with the new operating systems.

At some point, the hardware manufacturer will decide it is more trouble should be the pilot for a new device compatible with an earlier operating system.  Considering that Windows XP was released in August 2001 - nearly 15 years - and that Microsoft has ceased all support for Windows XP in April 2014 - two years - would not be surprising if a new printer did not have a driver for Windows XP.

  • has obtained a new wireless network and I can not connect the printer to it.

I have a photosmart c4780 wireless.  Got a new Airport Express Wireless yesterday.  It is connected to my MacBook Pro without problem, but I can't get the printer to connect to it.

I have a MacBook Pro, OS v. 10.6.  My HP Photosmart C4780 worked perfectly on my old system wireless (Apple product).  Yesterday I bought a new wireless Airport Express and I can't get the printer to recognize the new system.  Where it shows the name of the printer in the system, the box below (called location) is empty.  I tried to put the name of my Airport in it, but no luck.  I know it just needs to be connected internally somehow, but can't find where the information goes.  I don't have a USB port.  The printer is connected to a modem, and the modem is connected to the radio (is this is what is called the router?) Airport Express - just like it was yesterday when he was working with my old wireless.
