I noticed that when I set up my gmail account a new icon appeared on my Menu for my emails gmail next to the normal 'Messages' icon. Whenever I get an email from my gmail times the normal icon to 'Messages' account and gmail email message icon inform me that I have an email. What is the point to this?

  The only thing I can think is that the "Messages" icon shows you all the emails received by all registered email accounts. Is this the case? In this case, I'll just hide the gmail icon and use the standard Messages icon.

  Could someone let me know on this subject? Even if I just answered my own question! P
