I have a satellite 2450-201 and latley taking his age to start up I did a reg clean and defraged my pc still takes a long time is there anything I can download that will make my laptop toshiba boot u faster please help

Check it please list all processes start when starts. You can do it on this way: choose RUN and type MSCONFIG. What configuration utility system is open to the Startup tab. All startup items are. Remove the check mark in front of the element that should not start with Windows.

I HAVE DEFRAGED MY PC AND ALSO OPTIMIZED MY MSCONFIG STARTUP ITEMS AND EVEN THE BIOS UPDATE.
THE RESULT IS EXTREMELY FASTER WHEN I CONNECT AND ACTUALLY UNDER WINDOWS BUT THE SAME OLD VERY SLOW STOP AND START TO WHAT I DO.THE WINDOWS BAR GOING ALONG AT LEAST 15 - 20 TIMES TO HELP START!

Maybe you've connected to some external devices to slow down the start-up procedure. You can also try to disable all the hardware components you n t need (modem. IrDA). Also check out which device is defined in a first start time (I hope that the HARD drive).
For slow closing is responsible only running processes that should be forced disconnected. It all depends on your own configuration and you are using external devices.

I have a satellite pro m70-113 laptop.
The problem is that I am not able to web surf, when you are connected to the Toshiba software modem that is integrated, because the speed is too slow.
Connecting about 40 Kbps, but I can't even open the yahoo site just because it's very slow. I mean it seems that there is no data transfer... I have to wait 5 min load yahoo.com!
I tried uninstalling, reinstalling the drivers, but the problem is the same...And on the same telephone line, when I connect to the net on my desktop, I get a decent speed. If the problem is not telephone line or my ISP, but something on my laptop hardware modem, or its drivers.
Please can someone help me...

InDesign 2014 startup too slow
Since June, Indesign 2014 has been opened too slow at startup.
Wait usually about 5 minutes and if it is not yet open, stopped at the Task Manager and try again. The second time, the program usually opens more Rapids (1-2 minutes).

I can only say that the Vista operating system needs much more resources as the XP operating system for example.

Satellite 2450 S203: SMART HDD can fail - HARD drive change?

My Satellite 2450 S203 seems to run slow extremeley (20 minutes to start windows!). I get a warning in the Manager of Toshiba hard disk may fail soon.
I guess I should do a new hard drive? Is it possible to fix it? If not, what type of replacement hard drive should get?

If the HARD drive has a mechanical problem it aren't there has not much to do and you should buy a new HARD drive. But before this I recommend you to do the clean install of OS and see how the laptop runs. After the long period of use and many facilities that the OS will be slower and slower, but 20 minutes is definitely too long for the start-up procedure.
According to specifications specification must be 40 GB of HARD drive. I'm sure that for the upgrade, you can use 60 GB HARD drive. On this HARD drive replacement is quite simple and you can do it alone. If you n t do this please write again.

and I'm sure that when I had it first I could watch DVDs, s without having to start, only now, when I try this the computer starts completely before it will play, now perhap it did this before but I didn't take so long to start, because there was not much on it to slow it down, what I want to know is : is it possible or just my imagination, if not how to reset it please.

You don't say what operating system you have. To watch DVDs without having to start you would need to have Windows installed MCE. He would use a small area of your hard drive to store the necessary software to allow you to play DVDs without having to start your main operating system.
If you have XP (Home or Pro), then it is more likely that your startup process now takes longer than before so that you can start your DVD software. In this case check for unnecessary tasks or processes by using the Task Manager and I would also recommend spyware scanning, removing everything you find and run Defragmenter and disk cleanup.

29,0 is too slow and continues to return when using of 28.0 Grrrrr!
29,0 was too slow and too jerky. I returned to 28.0 and it was fine until 29 reinstalled on its own. I checked about: config and everything everywhere was assigned to prevent back but he did anyway. My MacBook Pro early 2011 startup is extremely slow
My Macbook Pro has now become very slow in recent years to the point that it takes about 2-3 minutes at the start and another 3 minutes for the Finder to start and bar + apps become available and be able to use (otherwise fury beach ball!).
I always held up-to-date and think that the issue could have begun with a patch somewhere that might be too heavy on such a machine in (?) "old". I don't remember not to what update started... probably just after Snow Leopard or Lion.
I did everything advised on the web, disk check, PRAM reset, remove and free on the hard disk, the cache of the system of cleaning with Terminal... I then used EtreCheck and the result was "below average", emphasizing 17 errors on the disk. What does that mean?? Should I reinstall the OS or should I replace the HDD and redo the whole machine? If one of these, how do I go about it for this laptop, if that's possible?

It is clear from your hard drive is/maybe default. Make a backup, best 2 separated on 2 discs. Wake the computer from the tests. You may be able to get at least a temporary solution to erasing and reformatting.
Make a backup, best 2 separated on 2 discs. Start of recovery volume (command - R on a restart, or hold down the option/Alt during a restart and select the Volume of recovery). Run disk utility, then select first aid. Reformat the hard disk using Disk Utility/Erase Mac OS extended (journaled), then click on the Option button and select GUID. Then re-install the operating system. Use Wizard settings to restore your backup.

Last month, after a BSOD displayed (I don't have the code of error message, unfortunately) my laptop decided to not work again.
At the start, he reached the start menu and then displays a black screen... no message, no auto restart... nothing. Just a weird noise coming from the hard drive (like a scratched cd).I tried to format the drive, but without success. After choosing the boot source, trying to read the cd and the black screen appears again, with no message. I checked if the Bay of cd is not working properly and it is. (I think)
So I replaced the HDD in my satellite 2450. A new toshiba ide 2.5 30 GB hard drive. But when I install a new one, the system does not recognize.The control panel of the Bios says that "no hard disk" is available, and I can not change this option. (locked)
With the Windows Xp cd in the drive, the Setup program runs all properly until the 'select drive' format menu, witch says that no hard drive is recognized (with a new drive hard in).I don't really know what to do!

The laptop did not recognize a new HARD drive. Which is one reason why Win XP cannot follow the additional installation steps
I can't say exactly why the HARD drive is not recognized, but the 30 GB IDE should be ok.
I remember one of my friends had a similar problem with the new HARD drive.
Some hard drives have a jumper (3.5 HARD drive and 2.5 IDE HARD drive too)
Maybe you should check if a rider has been set to the right position (slave?).Check it otherwise that I recommend to test with another new HARD drive
In the worst case the disc HARD controller might be faulty, but it would mean replacing a motherboard
